Already posted here: 2.1.2 Patch Notes and discussion
(if the mods are not going to heap this topic, I'd recommend a topic title change. 'patch' is a very broad term)

Seriously annoyed at this, they didn't have to put MORE loots on those bosses, let alone silly PvP items that are never going to get used in PvE.
What a silly way to get PvP'ers to raid.

This is stupid if they are taking up regular item tables on multiple bosses. Granted, I like the ring, but why on earth is it taking up a slot on the boss' loot table? It should be an extra random chance thing.

I think you've summed up my position on this perfectly.
You want to add PvPish rewards from PvEing? Ok, I'm on board with that. If you are diluting the PvE lootables with this stuff though I am bound to get a little pissy. Of course this is colored by my absolute refusal to do arenas as a PvE specced and geared fire mage I suppose and I'm quite willing to admit that.

Agreed. Fair enough if the Lurker now drops 3 items rather than two.

I don't like this at all. They need to keep resilence the hell away from loots in raid zones.

This shit made me vomit a little bit in my mouth.
It's like Blizzard refuses to ever fucking learn from past mistakes, and instead makes them again in particularly creative and less sensible ways.
I would love to hear any justification from Daelo or Tigole on this one, any justification that doesn't deal with the bullshit mantra of PvE and PvP being complimentary of one another, when that's clearly and unrealistic and self-destructive goal.

More chances at 'oh...that ring again.../roll 300 guys' loot. I'm sure there are some folks in our raid group that will enjoy the ring for arenas, but it sucks this will be taking the spot of a significant upgrade. From the looks of it...it seems they dropped one of these danies on all the SSC bosses.

I realize others have made the same point but this is exactly how I feel too.
They should've made it like Bonereavers Edge/Spinal Reaper, occasionally dropping as a bonus third item. Either that or pooled all the PvP rings to all the bosses and any of them can drop any of them as a third item. I can accept predominantly PvP items like World Breaker and Pauldrons of the Wardancer but this is just a kick in the teeth at a time when raiders are already feeling slightly irked.

My guild got both the ring off Lurker as well as a ring from Tidewalker that had healing, spell crit, stam, and resiliance. It was actually a small PvE upgrade for one of our shaman but overall I'm rather disappointed these have to waste a loot spot. Why not have the rings drop off trash mobs or something?

Gladiator (season 1 and 2) staves meet the requirement of pvp item that is > in pve than anything (or the majority) available. Neither situations should ever arise. PVPers don't generally want to raid, and vise versa; at least not to the same extent.

Like the warrior dps T4 set has +res bonus instead of hit or something more useful.

As we could have read in the other topic, he's referring to the major typo though

As a member of a guild who is currently working on mid-SSC fights, I can say that PvP is no longer allowed to be ignored.
Not when 8/11 of our casters are using 150- dmg/heal weapons, and our rogues have Malchazeen in the MH (or Bladefist/Fool's Bane).
You can't underestimate the power of getting 97.7 dps MH/OH weapons for your rogues/enh shamans/dps warriors, or of handing all of your casters 225 dmg/heal (+hit) MH weapons.
We started 3 "casual" 5v5 teams today -- everyone in the guild is welcome to join one of them, and we're "strongly encouraging" (read: smacking anyone who doesn't) everyone in those classes above to get to the Arena-ing.
If we can hand everyone in the guild weapons equivalent to ~ Vashj, why WOULDN'T we? And we can do it on one night a week, casual pvp, and slowly accrue the arena points needed.
PvP is *for* PvE now, at least for 75%+ of the raiding scene. If you have Vashj and Kael'thas down, it's doubtful that much will be upgrades ... but you never know ...
Back in TBC, we were famed for never, ever, ever getting weapons. We got one (1) CTS from BWL, zero AQRs, zero Death's Sting, 2 pugios, and the only weapon we got from Naxx was the trash drop mace. Our rogues were sporting pugio OH and random crap MH for the longest time, simply because we NEVER got them to drop. PvP items like this would have been most welcome in that situation; and currently, are most welcome because we have gotten a whopping 3 Mindblades in 45-odd Prince kills (multiple teams). Oh, and zero Brute-Blades off Gruul. Wee.

In my opinion, they should have added these rings to the trash drops, instead of chewing up the already dilluted boss drops.
And a side note, did a hefty SSC run today and it seems the nether vortex/recipe/epic trash drops are few and far between now?

I really don't see why they added it to a boss drop, trash drop. Sure, but not a boss drop. Trash usually have the more "offspec" things, why not just add some "pvp" items there?

Love it when people try to draw conclusions in random distributions based on a insignificantly small sample rate.

I must say i'm quite a fan of their new design for offspec items in TBC. Having them drop off random trash from karazhan, then SSC etc, is a great way to give opportunity for people to loot complementary items without taking regular loot slots from boss loot tables.
I'm quite confused while these new rings aren't simply added to trash also.
