If a mob gains Unstable Affliction with Judgment of Light already on it, the Light procs start healing for far more, usually 300-400.

Yeah, I believe this makes a tremendous difference for melee in P2/P3. I'm sure that things will be more difficult when they fix it.

We saw Souls last night for our first real attempts, and we had a perfect phase 1 and great interupts on p2. But our problem was just not enough damage, which I've yet to see a fight where we have trouble with dps. We are normally very far ahead of enrage timers.
We ended up getting p2 down to about 20% when everyone was oom, so ended on a 13% wipe. How close to running completely oom do many of you get before he drops? We have 2 rogues kicking and a 3rd just whenever it's off cd to catch any mishaps. And since the rogues are the highest damage, I think that could be our problem. I just don't see how we could fix it really. And i've also worried that felhunter locks out deaden on certain casts and we miss the buff.

were your tanks refecting deaden? That will contribute for a lot of potential damage.
Usually we run with 7 healers for that fight, how many do you run?

Yea, tank said he never missed a deaden, or at least thought he didn't. I am paying too much attention to cast bar to notice how much extra dmg im doing...so I'm not totally sure.

WWS please. And what was the raid composition? Deaden could certainly be a part of the problem, if it's accidentally kicked, if the tank fails to reflect it, or if the reflected deaden is simply resisted. Felhunters will not affect deaden, but I'm guessing another possibility is having it pushed off by other debuffs.

Use CoR and if needed let healers dps in the start too, some dots etc.
Try to save bloodlust and other 5min+ cds for p3.

Depending on your makeup dps can be a problem, after our first kill we had nights where we quickly realized the setup of who was online wasn't enough to drop him because the dps was behind. If the group is good dps for most fights (even miles ahead on most fights) it can be just about right, and a single interrupted deaden or missed reflect could kill it.
Depending on group makeup and deaden's we've had nights where we couldn't do it with what we had, nights where we brought him to phase 3 15-20 seconds after mana ran out, and nights where we kicked a deaden and still had 20 seconds left before we ran out of mana, so it's hard to predict where you should be.

We run 8 healers and kill P2 about when we run OOM if we miss one deaden, and a little early if we catch them all. It gets messy if we miss more than one deaden though ;/

Has anyone tried using DI/Soulstone to kill two aura stacks in P3? I'm hesitant to try this as Blizzard made sure to work around DI with Gorefiend and Azgalor -- just wondering if the aura is any different, as that would be a huge help.

Well, the soulstoning part at least works in both phases 2 and 3 - ressing resets the aura to 1 'stack.' Not sure about the DI though.
Seems like a rather excessive way to work your way around a fight mechanic though.

Just to echo some of the previous thoughts mentioned in this thread, a two rogue interrupt system works wonders on this fight. The code from post #194 along with two rogues with good reflexes really can help dps. This insures that no one else will be interrupting besides the two rogues, and they won't even see deaden cast bars. The rest of your melee dps can concentrate specifically on dps. The casting of spirit shock will never coincide with a kick cooldown. The only slightly difficult thing is kicking rune shield spirit shocks but with decent latency and reaction times it's not that difficult.

Reseting aura is not good for dps classes in p3 since you loose the dmg buff. Anyways, p3 is probably the easiest of the 3 phases in my opinion, we never wipe in p3.

I doubt you ever wipe in P1 either. P2 is the 'real' fight, P1 and P3 just require a halfway decent strategy.

Looking through the combatlog of our attempts on the night of our first kill I see:
8/12 18:54:46.953 Essence of Desire 's Deaden is reflected back by Malfuria.
8/12 18:54:46.953 Essence of Desire 's Deaden was resisted by Essence of Desire.

8/12 20:48:13.703 Essence of Desire 's Deaden is reflected back by Malfuria.
8/12 20:48:13.703 Essence of Desire 's Deaden was resisted by Essence of Desire.
8/12 20:48:45.437 Essence of Desire 's Deaden is reflected back by Malfuria.
8/12 20:48:45.437 Essence of Desire 's Deaden was resisted by Essence of Desire.
Since p2 is kinda dependant on the Deadens, this can make the fight significantly harder

We are doing the enc right now and there's a spirit shock cooldown after each rune shield.

We started this guy today, and have our issue with DPS in P2;
We always get him to around 5-10% when the whole raid runs OOM
3 Rogue 2 Warriors 3 Loc 3 Mage 3 SP 1 Hunter 1 Ele Shaman 1 Feral
7 Healers + 1 MT
We have one of the healers (me) staying doing DPS too in P2, but we just seem to be doing -something- wrong that is making us so low on DPS for this.
As far as I know, Deaden is always being reflected.

You should be able to finish of 5-10% even if oom. Casters can wand and priest can save inner focus to dispel a shield or heal if needed.

We have been in P3 (9% wipe t.t) however it just seems 'slow'? to me that we take so long in P2.

Bring more melee IMO, they own RoS pretty hard since there is basically 0 armor on it. We usually have at least a feral druid, 3-4 rogues, 2 dps warriors, enhancement shammy, 3-4 hunters. When we didn't miss deaden we were getting to p3 15-20 seconds before OOM (not using any cooldowns, saving them for P3). One time we missed 3 deadens (don't ask) and still made it there although it was less than elegant.

Auster posted a bit pre-maturely since that was our first "real" phase 2 where the spirit shocks were interrupted properly, but clearly a couple of deadens were missed or interrupted. In any event went back last night and did well except we had a heartbreaking sub-1% wipe at the end, lol. A certain rogue who may or may not have posted above me waited too long to vanish and thus we did not have enough damage.
What the above poster said about 7 healers is indeed the way to go while you are learning this fight. It made p2 much easier and we finished it off with usually 10 or 20 secs left before OOM. Hopefully tonight we get the kill (vanish, auster, vanish).
On a different note, are people still using seethe to give the MT a good threat lead? The one time we tried it our healers had a collective brain-malfunction and let the taunting druid and then the MT die after a flawless p1 and p2, so we were gun-shy after that and just unloaded after the first mis-direct was in.

I wanted to try it, but if I change something, I'm afraid we'll end up wiping and wasting time. We usually bring 2 hunters to raids and I have only had a rogue pull it from me once due to him trying to push it. Towards the end the shadow priests may have to hold back slightly, but they don't wait long at the start. Pretty much 2 sunders and an MD and DPS is started. Second MD just pushes me ahead more.

Never used seethe. 2 md back to back, bloodlust for the tank around 75%, and unload. As long as your tank is competent, there should not be any major aggro problems. Only people who have to be really carefull about their threat are shadow priests off course, since they generate so much threat with VE healing.
