Let's cut the bullshit though. EJ shit on Goon Squad's fun last night. You guys put a big stopsign on our fun for no reason than the cheap thrill of ruining our fun. There is no good reason that you guys should put a stop to our prankery.

I'm sure that /g was filled with "Goon Squad is killing Thrall, defend our leader!" or "Dalda is killing thrall guys." or whatever. it doesn't matter.
You guys can come up with all sorts of reasons why we shouldn't kill thrall, but guess what? We over at goon squad don't give a shit. It's a funny prank, it'll piss off the kiddies, we'll all have a good laugh.

Do you guys suddenly care about pubbies? You're going to group with The Grog Addicts on an onyxia raid after they all turn in their rend heads to thrall (and do the rest of the quests)?
Oh of course you aren't, don't try to feed the line of bullshit that you give a fuck about any of the public guilds on the server who havn't been established since day one.

He's our warchief? Who cares, to me he's just an NPC I can't attack unless I've been shamed by the Horde. A bunch of polygons on a screen. I have no attachment to this visual representation of a few lines of code. What I care about is having fun with the people who I play with. If you're so stuck up on defending the horde, or killing the alliance because they're evil, might I suggest you move to an RP server.

Well, you guys don't like Dalda for a couple things, but the overarching reason you hate him is because of his killing the orgrimmar flight master while Azuregos was up, and how you guys couldn't go cheer the death of goon squad in a raid encounter and then wipe yourselves to him upon your own attempt.
Here's the story from the priest who was healing him: Dalda and I had made up our minds to kill the flightmaster while on a scholomance raid (I guess Tseng didn't hear us, because he was majorly pissed at Dalda for killing the flightmaster, even though he was on our raid, and some of our planning was done in /s.)...which concluded before Azuregos was spawned.
So we both port back to Org. and Dalda leaves to get the Mark of Shame. I stay in Orgrimmar to get some trading done, and so that I could work on getting some stuff enchanted.
Azuregos spawns. I decline the invitation to help from the usual three guilds who want me to help them with every raid instance they embark upon, even if I'm in a raid already...I digress...
Dalda is on his way to the NPC in UC for his mark of shame, and then back out to the zep for the return trip to orgrimmar. Meanwhile GS has put together its raid and all flown off to Azshara.
Dalda gets back. I say "let's go", and he runs up to the flightmaster and starts the killing.
Several pubbies complain, who cares right? They're pubbies. Fuck 'em. (ironically this is posted on a public forum)
Then the drama bomb: EJ shows up at the flightmaster...expecting to be able to go to Azshara and cheer the deaths of all who would steal the Azuregos kill from them.
But the flightmaster is engaged at the moment, and going to die in a few seconds, sorry.
I apologize for them not being able to reach Azshara, and they start hurling obsenities at me, and insulting Dalda, who is pretty much one of the best people to play with because he has the same carefree attitude as myself.
Apparenlty half of EJ reported Dalda, and a good many messaged me saying that I was reported.
What? Why? GRIEFING. Apparently I griefed a bunch of people. When contacted by a GM I said "I healed someone with mark of Shame" and he said "Oh, well then it's not griefing, that's just how the failed quest penalty works for now."
Well I breathed a sigh of relief.
I was also eager to help kill Thrall, who I found had been giving out buffs alittle too willy nilly that day and needed to be taken down a notch or two.

No, it's not. I've talked to GMs about killing your own NPCs and as long as it ISN'T Auctioneers, it is not currently against the rules of the game. It's something you can do while shamed from the Test of Lore quest.
It is conceptually the same as killing a bunch of quest giving/receiving goblins in booty bay, Gadgetzan, Ratchet, or Everlook. Yes, it hinders the ability of other players to play the game (and yes, you guys were reported by large amounts of people for the Booty Bay lockdown those couple of days, and did not get punished.), but it is NOT against the rules. Do not hide behind that facade.

So what you guys did is effectively like Goon Squad flooding Booty Bay and healing all the guys EJ killed to get Bloodsail Faction up. Otherwise known as: shitting on the fun that goons have.


So an open letter: The first screenshot I ever took was a GS/HS raid on Darkshore. God it was fun. Thorm was only level 52. I was only level 40. I was still in fucking orchard road for god sakes.
God damn it was fun. What happened to all the hoons? What has corrupted you so much that the loot, or the cheap thrill of shitting on a guilds fun has gotten in the way of having fun with goons?

When was the last time that EJ and GS raided something? Months? Put aside the Jerk Points, put aside the loots of killing Onyxia four times all at the same time. Put aside Majordomo and killing Ragnaros.
Come and have fun with me Hoons. I miss the days when we would have comedy raids.
Instead of killing Kazzak...help me pull him to Stormwind.
Instead of just pvping in Stormwind, c'mon, let's see who can get the most laps of swimming in; an endurance race!

imo, I think you're way off base, but whatevs.

We don't always like to play along with your petty cries for attention. A good many of us think they are annoying and childish.

I don't know why you think we're so worked up over you guys. We weren't cheering when you guys died to Azuregos. We could care less if you guys lose a raid boss. However, we will take it if we can. We won't steal it. We won't mess you guys up on one either. We're a bit above that.

But defending our city leaders is very important to a good number of us. Just earlier in the day EJ portaled into Undercity, fresh from killing Highlord Bolvar in Stormwind, to wipe an Alliance raid group attacking Varimathras and Sylvanas. To many of us, the very idea of Horde killing their own leader is absolutely absurd, and doing it for shits and giggles is just downright appalling. It's nothing against you people. It's not because you guys are doing it. It's not "for the pubbies." We're doing this because we will defend our city leaders in any way we can. I don't mean to say we don't care about pubbies--I always attempt to be polite to everyone I see, and many EJ are the same way. But this is not really at all related to that. We're not doing this to spite you.

"Let's kill Thrall." Let's not. I was a Hoon. I participated in the old Hooligan Syndicate raids. I believe in having fun in this game. Believe it or not, EJ is not here to piss in your cheerios. We know a lot of you think we are, but the fact is, we don't really care that much about you at all. EJ may not like some of your members, but that doesn't influence our decisions as much as you'd like to think.

You want to have fun in the game? Pull Kazzak to Stormwind? Swim laps in the moat? It's all been done. It's not creative or funny anymore. Niether is killing Horde NPC's with Mark of Shame. Not to mention the fact if Kazzak is pulled to Stormwind, he will be despawned by a GM, thus preventing us from killing him and denying members a chance for epic items--which wouldn't be fair to them at all. Call us a serious guild if you wish; because we are one, but we still have fun. Just because we don't participate in the GS's repeated idiocy doesn't mean we don't want to have fun in this game.

We understand you at GS want to be the center of attention, but EJ just for the most part doesn't care. Again, we weren't doing this to piss anyone off. We were defending our leader. Just because it's a game doesn't mean we can't immerse some now and then. If you guys spent half as much energy thinking up all that stupid shit you do to grief Horde with your horrid Mark of Shame and instead put it to use against the Alliance, maybe it wouldn't just be EJ who makes all the meaningful strikes against them. We don't care if you think it's fun to grief Horde. But we just wanted to defend Thrall. That is all.

Edit: Not to mention if this thing ever got heard by the Alliance, they'd laugh at us for days :P We don't want the Alliance laughing at us. WE laugh at THEM. That is all.

This was the only part of your post that was somewhat relevent, so I'll only respond to this, and to the rest of your post I'll say this: You and the rest of GS are making this into SUCH a bigger dramabomb than we did. In fact we stopped talking about it in /g about 5 minutes after the whole thing went down. Chill out, step back, and see what actually happened.

Now, to the parts I quoted:
1) There is actually a quest that requires you to kill the NPCs and guards in BB to get a cool hat. There is not a quest to kill Thrall.
2) What happened to the Hooligans? Were you not around when you had Toom and Ichyrre in charge? Go talk to them and the officers you had at the time and figure out why things are the way they are.
3) See response 2. We like to conquer the biggest and baddest things out there, then get loot form those and go kill the biggerer and baddester things that will come out. In order to do that we need to have a core group of people who don't fuck around and listen to us. Do we fuck around on MC raids? Hell yeah we do, probably to much (talk to Gurg :) ) but we still get the job done. The best raid I have ever been on was when Wubwub and Zarplex traded characters for a ubrs run (back before we killed Lucifron I think). I was non-stop laughing from start to finish.

When was the last time I saw GS raiding IF or Stormwind? When was the last time I saw you guys doing anything that I actually wanted to do?

You guys REALLY need to abandon the whole "EJ IS FUCKING US" attitude. We're not out to shit in your cereal.

In the rules thread I made for HS, this was at the very top of the list and always has been, ever since the first day of retail. This is still at the top of our rules list.

That's the philosophy of our guild and obviously not one that is shared with all of goon squad.


This difference in philosophies is why we're not all just one big goon guild. It's also why we don't do raids with you, pvp or pve. There's a fundamental difference in how we believe loot should be handled, and in the case of pvp raids, there's a fundamental difference in what we consider to be fun. EJ is an accomplishment oriented guild. We have fun beating up alliance and conquering pve content and prefer this to doing things like laps in stormwind.

Neither way is "right", it's just a difference of beliefs in what we want out of playing our video game.

there is no way in hell blizzard intended for a warrior or two to be able to kill their own factions leaders by way of a mistake with healing. sure mark of shame makes you unfriendly with your faction. working as intended. what ISNT right is the fact that while you have one or two people attacking your leader you can heal him without getting any aggro at all.


oh that and the fact leaders drop a fair chunk of change, so basically its a fast cash exploit if someone so chooses

Speaking for myself, I do. I try to get as many of my guildmates to do the same.

I do my best to be polite and respectful towards everyone unless they have done something to warrant being treated otherwise, on an individual basis. I know several people in Aftermath, SF, SoS, and other guilds... I'm happy to craft things for them or generally extend common courtesies, just as I am for anyone in GS/LoB/GCR/whatever.

No, we're not going to go raid with Grog Addicts, but I believe they have just as much right to play the game as it was meant to be played, as do the rest of us. I don't think they should be griefed, or treated with contempt, and I wouldn't support the actions of anyone who thought differently, regardless of guild affiliation.

Here's the deal.

It didn't matter to us who was killing Thrall or for what reason. We don't want to see him dead so we do what we can to prevent that from happening. The fact that it was Goon Squad attacking him is inconsequential to us. Put another way, you're placing undue importance on yourselves. Our daily business rarely sees even a mention of GS, much less a reason to ruin one of your gimmicks.
