It will be interesting to see what the new mechanic is, sounds like they want to make AR a little more important than "two people sitting in the back /dancing".

Mark of the Solarian - Reduces Arcane resist
Light of the Astromancer - Increases damage taken by arcane effects.
I feel like I'm onto something here

So much for being like 1 of 2 enchanters with Stealth/Sub/Dodge/15 Agi to gloves.
Was about time though (I'm curious as to the new mats for +Dodge though, and maybe even threat to gloves)

Safe to assume it is no longer necessary to use 2 arcane resist tanks on solarian to bounce wrath?

Without knowing what the new 'mechanic' is, it sounds disturbingly like they're going to make everyone have AR gear. I guess they wanted Soul Cloth to actually serve a function.

If 2.2 Solarian is going to suggest mass Arcane resist, it would exist just as the Hydross/BT gear does, IMO. I don't think Blizzard ever considered Tauren Warriors wearing full Soulcloth as required raid tactics. For Soulcloth in general, though, I wish some blue poster would give us an answer on exactly why it exists. Maybe they thought Curator was a lot more difficult than he really is, and wanted warlocks 'tanking' yet another encounter?
Although it's kind of disappointing to my guild, since we just got our first kill today. So much for gemming out all that gear.

Our Solarian sponges sport dresses already. They're a much cheaper alternative to the plate resist gear. More emberassing, but... cheaper.

The character copies are slow but using Sniff I can say that Orc shoulders are still tiny but the Merciless Priest hoods now hide hair.

Aye, on Wedsnesday as well here ------
In regards to mass Arcane resist though I highly doubt that too.
And Hydross? Only ever have 2 warriors in resist gear period, and apparently some only use 1 tank in a mix of both Resist gear.
I doubt blizzard will ever scale a boss towards raid wide mass resist

You obviously haven't encountered Mother Shahraz then.
It is the exception though. Fire resist for Illidan, Frost/Nature for Hydross, Arcane for Solarian but they were all tanking sets rather than raid wide sets.

The changes to solarian should have been made final in 2.1, not 2.2. Its unfair to change the encounter mid-stride after a thousand or so guilds have her on farm. But I guess we have to suck it up and deal with it.

Maybe they got it all out of their system after Flame Packs, Ragnaros, Vaelstrasz, Firemaw, Huhuran, Viscidus, Faerlina, Sapphiron Mother Sharaz, etc, etc, and whatever other resist boss and trash I inevitably overlooked.
No way they'd go back to that old chestnut!

I never understood the hate for resist gear.
When I was not in a high end guild, it gave me something to do. To increase my chances to get accepted. I ran BRD and other places to assemble a nice FR set (180FR). And later even a half-decent NR set. The FR set helped me in my trial run. And having a NR set made me differentiate from other rogues who were applying.
Besides that, part of the fun of the game is because you see your character become stronger over time. Acquire better gear. Once you have all the gear from 5-man instances, there is very little you can do to improve, without the help of 40-man raids. (Or maybe ZG). Collecting resist sets is something you can do outside of raid hours. And it gives you the reward of seeing your character become more valuable.
Am I the only one who looked at resist gear that way ?

As a rogue, you have never had the onus to gather a full resist set, be it Fire for Rag and Firemaw, Nature for the green dragons and Hydross, Frost for a fistful of fights, or Arcane for Solarian. Sure, the concept of partial resist gear on the whole raid is kinda neat and provides a reasonable block to an encounter that's gradually overcome with the application of more dps (I can't recall having used any resist gear on Faerlina after a little bit), but having to put together full suits to hit the cap for multiple fights, and then upgrading it over time... well, it gets annoying.

Or just drop TK all together :P Seeing as how close we were to needing nothing from our last Kael kill, Pala chest taken but the paladins "weren't that bothered" the tanking plate gloves to a dps warrior, MH for rep and BT and a few days off sounds quite appealing

The Dragon's Breath "change" could just be a typo and meant to be Blast Wave instead, since BW is a daze effect.

We have most people at 150~ resist on soli, the arcane missiles are almost always 50% resists with that much resist, so without the -ve resist debuff that will probably be enough to make it comfortable enough for the healers.
Still depends on how the new spell(s) work though I guess.

I heard somewhere that guild banks, Voice, possibly Zul'aman could be added on later on in patches. Cant wait to try it out, what is the estimated time until the PTRs are up?

Ditto. One word comes to my mind every time when people talk about resistance fights.. Sapphiron. *sigh*
About time they made something useful for Jewelcrafters. What faction is it that you need for those or are they spread around the heroic factions?

It's about on the level of the Enchanting ring enchants in my opinion, though how close it is really depends on how many of the gems are useful to your current role. For tanking it does look like the +18 stamina gem is really the only useful one... But I can easily see other classes wanting multiple gems in their gear at the same time, and this profession perk basically becomes a larger advantage over not having it the more of the gems are useful to you (Though it'll diminish a bit as an advantage when the other epic gems become common in your guild).
