Wowhead used to be my favorite site for wow related information. I remember it was updated continously by the owners. It was great. However since the buyout, its been really slack, no updates in weeks. I was pretty disapointed, but figured it was due to staffing changes and that things would be fixed soon. However today they did their first real addition since the buyout, and its very strange to say the least....


Latest Additions - Wowhead

They have some really random NPCs and Items being added. Are these all things on the PTR? Or are the new owners just not really serious about the site in the way the previous one was? For the first real work by the new owner, I'm pretty pissed about the lack of proffesionalism. What do you guys think?

I thought sites like wowhead rely on user submisions for the items?

They do. It's a downloadable client and addon to get the data. I doubt the buyout has anything to do with it.

Items like those pop up on every site from time to time. Someone runs the data-collection client (whether it's Alla's, or Wowhead's, or whatever) on a private server and it gets a bunch of GM items and random crap, which the site admins have to clean out.
