We also run with double shadow priests in the same group at times-what we do to maximize this is have a person outside the raid monitoring people's mana levels and switching them in and out-effectively using 2 shadow priests minimally over 3-4 groups instead of 2 shadow priests maximally over 2 groups. Often times our healers simply don't need the mana so it results in wasted placement to stick the shadow priests in their groups, so we do the dual shadow priests in one group with switching to better maximize it.

I have to think Blizz may eventually do something about the current ability to have a field commander sitting outside the raid moving shaman around for Bloodlust/Heroism as well as moving shadow priests around. Clearly un-intended.

As for the potions we finally aquired a 2nd shadow priest for our raids and I've now been burning a pot timer or two per fight on Destruction Potions. I have yet to do any sort of direct comparison but I think I'm already slightly addicted. I run a HUD that shows me my sub 1 minute buffs and I have an addiction to seeing those icon slots fill up with trinket procs and potions buffs and all that. All I know is that if my sextant and nexus both go off, and I pop a destro pot my LBs start *hitting* for 2200-2300 and that's just goofy.

You can have some inside the raid do that during the fight as well. The only difference really is whether or not you're dividing your attention from a different task.

The reason you might think differently is because there's a fairly large amount of mods which break the functionality of moving people around in combat. I still need to sit down and take the time to figure out for myself which one of mine does so.

Im a hastepot addict, and have used apx 250 hastepots this far this week. Once you started using them - there is no turning back.

This. I started using haste pots this week and I find myself burning through them indiscriminately now. The things are addictive.

Question for rogues and dps warriors:
How do haste potions compare for a warrior? I constantly see rogues posting their addiction to them and often make them for our guilds rogues, but our DPS warrior hasn't said anything one way or the other about them yet.

He should. I'm not using them because few people on my server have it, and I'm not blowing that much gold on buying the potions. If I can get the recipe, I'll be chugging the potions in no time.

The thing is, Haste for warriors nets you increased rage generation compared to normal speeds, since you get more hits. More rage means more damage. It's pretty straightforward.

I always assumed, that haste affects rage normalization. Same rage, just more damage.

My understanding is that rage is normalized per hit. Such that, if you hit more, you gain more rage. If they normalized it over time, we'd have energy and be called a rogue.

Hotspur, thank you for that. Would I be correct in assuming then that for a DPS warrior a haste potion would be a better 2 minute cooldown potion over something like fel strength? (I supply his potions so it's more a matter of me finding out what I can do to help him and I want to keep him at the top. )

A haste pot is better than Fel strength for dps.

Yeah, that's my conclusion as well. I'm too lazy to actually number crunch it though.
