Once upon a time in MC with my very first raiding guild we were about to engage Garr. One of the shamans says in vent "BRB 30 seconds, need to pee", almost immideatly after he runs straight into Garr and dies. When he comes back to vent we ask him wtf did you do. He said that when he left the comp he dropped his headset on the keyboard, apparently the headset hit autorun, which he didn't notice until he came back. This was in the day where bosses didn't have zone-wide combat pulses, so the rest of us got spared.

Another one (and much more painful one) was when we were about to engage Loatheb. We had buffed the whole raid out of the wazoo of course, we had a quick 30 sec afk before pull when a hunter shoots a serpent sting at Loatheb, with the MT afk he killed more than half the raid before we managed to reset him. The hunter was gonna type something in the hunter channel, but he missed the Return key to open the chat window and had Loatheb targeted, which resulted in a painful and completely unnecessary wipe. Thank god we didn't have world buffs that attempt though, it would have been horrible.

Edit* Now I remembered my biggest screwup as well. I was playing a hunter and we were about to engage Patchwerk. Just as the MT is about to pull Patchwerk I cast Hunter's Mark, only to find that my trusted pet Boarrior goes mad and charges Patchwerk, gets instagibbed, PW starts moving towards me, my hunter instincts goes on and I feign, PW goes for the healers, MT gets him under control but hateful tank 3 got completely flattened because everyone was in a shock state. The reason for the crazy boar charge was that I had forgotten to switch out my hunter's mark/autoshot/petattack macro to just hunters mark, which I did before any raid. Luckily, We got him down that attempt.

Heh, world buffs. I remember the first time we got to have a proper attempt on Ragnaros. We killed Domo, went to Raggy's cave, spent half an hour explaining positioning, practicing collapsing for Son spawns, etc. Then we went to get the Hakkar buff, an Onyxia head buff and the BRS fire res buff. About an hour and a half later we're back in Raggy's cave. Of course, we didn't know about Majordomo despawning...

Ended up calling the raid for the night. Still, we got some awsome screenies of our super-buffed raid staring at fuckall. >.<

Doesn't beat what our mage did last night on mag.

He died in a fire... Literally. He had his spell effects turned all the way down and didn't see the blaze he was standing in >_<

First post here!
My mate and I were reading the official WoW-forums, more precisely the thread 'Stupidest thing you've ever done', and a mage posted ' When I hit level 12 on my mage, I bought a wand and dragged it into my action bars, yet, it didn't work. It was only a few levels later I noticed a Shoot button in my spellbook.' My mate was rolling on the floor laughing, because that seemed really stupid to him.
A week later, he logs into his low level warlock, buys a wand, and drags the icon into his action bars. 'Hmmm this wand is bugged.'

Ah that reminded me of something, in one of the early betas i was gonna try my first MMO, WOW.
After checking out a few classes i see this petclass which was totally awesometh, so ended up with a NE hunter. But it was so damn hard, i died all the time, i spent more time running to my corpse than killing beasts. When nearing lvl 10 i decided, ok fuck this, shitty game, i keep hitting the beast with my raptor strike and dagger and the buggers wont die.

Ended up on a reroll, later i found out that hunters were supposed to use the bow they had equipped

<ROD OF THE DEEP>
Man, if only Morogrim *really* said "rod of the deep, take you" when he agro'd. That's hilarioius.

We have one druid who agro'd him several weeks in a row. On WWS, it's pretty funny, because it counts them as actual "tries", which always look something like this:

04:19'03.265	Morogrim Tidewalker's Melee misses Treibh
04:19'04.015	Ibou gains Cat Form
015 Ibou gains Track Humanoids
953 Morogrim Tidewalker's Melee hits Treibh for 12009
04:19'05.687	Treibh dies

Well one of our rogues accidentally sapped one of the channelers. Fortunately it was *after* the rogue patch where you'd stay in stealth. They are immune and don't aggro.

No, better. I was saying that they do not need to go that early into the water - as in, he has just turned his back to you and won't hit you for a few seconds *squish*.

"one druid", ahem

At least, for whatever reason, Morogrim is bugged so he one-shots me and then resets. If I'd actually wiped the raid then I might feel bad!

The other day in 2v2 Arena my spouse, a rogue, and I were playing an spriest with a rogue. Both my spouse and the spriest were relatively low on HP. I NS healed my spouse, who apparently, was being SW-D'd by the spriest at practically the same time.

It was hilarious cause the spriest just dropped dead (he had like 15-20% or so HP left i think) instantly in the middle of running this big circle around the Ruins and we had no idea why at first. Neither of our parsed logs showed anything, since after all, we didn't actually kill the dude. Needless to say, we won that one.

I want to nominate everyone wearing t4+ who poisons/sharpens their mainhand while grouped with a shaman. Also anyone in admittedly casual guilds who wonders why they wipe at 1%, there are simply too many answers to that question.

Tried out a fury warrior app one night. I noticed that he nearly always had 80-100 rage. When I checked the WWS I noticed his Deep Wounds did more damage than his whirlwind. He had 80% autoattack damage. He also would run in to attack the mage on HKM. I also had a Holy Pally tell me that he didn't need Illumination because "I hardly ever use it."

The 41 point "on-use" talent, or the 20 point passive talent?

The former is excusable, if not the best choice (x1 point talents are almost always worth getting for the extra utility, even if they're a tad situational). The second would be hilariously sad. = P

Last night was our first attempts (and kill) of Lurker. So naturally we had about 7 people (including me) get eaten by piranhas by falling off that one part of the platform. It didn't help that the raid leader had told us to hug the right side of the platform to avoid aggroing the nearby Colossus.

Then the Spout hits/deaths... inexplicable to me. Almost as bad were the people who would stay in the water for the entire duration of spout. Though it was amusing to see a few of the "OMG WTF HOW CAN YOU BE SO STUPID" people get hit by it as well.

I've stabbed a mag channeler early by going with my pvp setup where all my buttons activate autoattack. I've also been in a MC where Golemagg came up on the bridge and ganked us or people opening up on Vael immediately when he aggros.

I persoanally like the "click on the soul portal for a tasty healthstone" doom portal macro or being hit with a snowball while kiting Anub'Rekhan.

My favorite was going through the welp room in BWL and having a paly need to afk. He says "I'm just going to DI someone and zone in when I get back for a summon." The downside is I am his current target and as one of the tanks (when BWL was hard for us), I'm using every buff I can find. I don't see the DI on the screen. Now I have to click off as many castable buffs as I can find so I can take off a DI so I don't get left behind in the whelp room.

We also had a master looter pass out drunk during an Onyxia kill.

Wow :P I haven't been that drunk in an MMO since I passed out in Plane of Earth A only to wake 3 hours later to the raid barely having moved because most of the mobs/events were pullable to zone in :/ Fuckin awful zone...

Back when my hunter was my main, I went to put up Hutner's mark and hit concussive shot instead. Oops.

We then had rez recovery, buffed up on the far side of the room, and the RL told the warriors to head over back to the other side of the room for the pull. One of our warriors ran straight across the middle instead of skirting the outside of the room. Another wipe.

Also on my hunter (my first toon), I didn't train growl until level 39. Let me tell you how much that sucked.

In my defense, I bought the game when I was coming home from the Doctor's office after being diagnosed with Strep throat and bronchitis, which later turned into pneumonia, so the first 40 levels were over a two week period while in a stupor.

Hehe. My favorite raid memory of all is when I had just joined my old guild (this had to be a year and a half ago or more), and we were wiping on Arlokk. We decided to call the raid after our last wipe, and the only mage in the raid, my new GM, told us to gather up for a portal. We did, and watched her teleport herself, leaving us all standing there. Too funny.

On a related note- watching people click portals in the beginning of the AV tunnel to help 'summon' never gets old.

One of my friends (and denizen of these forums, who shall remain nameless) started playing as a druid. She talked to her trainer at level 2 from the quest and promptly forgot about him for the next 12 levels. She just figured the game had an obscene difficulty curve and thats why she normally died when trying to kill one monster the same level as her.

Anyway, at level 14 she visited a major city to meet one of her real life friends who was playing on the same server. She told him that she really hated her druid and in the course of the conversation thin line was uttered:

"Trainer? What's that?"

Hilarity and mocking ensued. It also took them close to half an hour to find a Druid trainer.

My favorite part of the Buru encounter was always pulling him early because someone in the raid used an AoE skill they did not typically use for AoE (cone of cold, frost nova, howl of terror, ect ect ect) to hit an egg. No matter how many times this was clearly spelled out in vent ahead of time this still managed to happen almost every time we did that boss.

Another would be gruul. We had a lock once, who will remain nameless and certainly was not me or anything, who decided it would be a good idea to DPS gruul after a ground slam knocked them up into the rafters and on top of one of the wooden pillars surrounding the rooms. Evades ensued...

One that never gets old as a lock is hearing a tank in a PUG 5-man ask for a soulstone...

My vanity is justified.

Multiple classes using the same gear is an excellent idea. Just the other day I was thinking to myself 'Not enough toons look identical with arena and tier sets looking the same, we need more appearance homogenization.'
