Sounds like one of my friends! A few months after retail release of WoW, one of my friends made a warlock alt for fun. He got to around level 40, where due to a lack of funds (he insisted every alt had to be self sufficient and refused any money from his friends, on top of having engineering as a profession), he started to skip on some spells to save money. Important spells like. . . . his dots. And possibly a rank or two of shadow bolt.
Needless to say, he started having trouble leveling the warlock, especially since this happened before pet spell costs were lowered. He persevered somehow to 50 before he quit, grousing all the while to us about how awful warlocks were. Came pretty close to deleting his warlock at the end too, but decided instead to drown him naked in the Great Forge in Ironforge.
Months later, when we were deciding to apply to some raiding guilds on our server, our guilded friend suggested he apply with the warlock instead of the paladin, since the guild had a surplus of healers. Since it had been months since my friend last logged into the warlock and I think warlocks had their talent revamp in the meanwhile, he decided to visit to trainer. Realization! He had been missing multiple ranks of damage spells all this time! No wonder he was having trouble soloing!
I gave him no end of grief for being a cheap bastard. I'd offered to help pay for his spells too!

Hey Anaxo, is that Eldodin?
I'm sure many of us have had or know somebody who had a bad experience with a flying mount. For certain classes like mages and priests, especially, it is usually preceeded by the famous last words, "Now that I have a flying mount, I have no need of these feathers anymore." Mine was getting impatient, even while flying an epic flying mount, and clicked off the mount in Netherstorm a little shy of solid ground. I know of a few stories of guildies clicking on abilities that cause them to dismount in the sky or just plain hitting their dismount button.

Last holy priest alive.

Pretty much caused us to wipe on archimonde last night, went out of zone to summon someone so lost my Tears of the Goddess. Came back in and got airbursted, the first time I landed and lived with 300ish hp. Healed up kept going, got airbursted again, hit the ground and said "Oh crap, I'm a priest and I have levitate, Duh."
Yikes.

Though that was so long ago, there are still people that will never let me forget it.

AHAHA. I wonder where my bind went? Probably still on the old DK vent server.

We were going to Void Reaver for the first time, experiencing the fun trash.
When you reach Void Reavers room theres a pack with 1 robot, 2 "techno-abominations" and 1 blood elf technician(I think)
So we killed em all, only the blood elf technician left and then some smartass priest mindcontrols him and the whole pull respawn, happened twice(happened another time when someone tricked a new priest to MC the b-elf)
Ive ninjadpulled hydross when water walking under him (thought it was safe)
Also Pre TBC I casted Curse of Tongues on Vael when we were buffing up, missclick :<

Strangely enough I don't remember any ranged pulling Vael with random spells in my guilds. We did have a Priest run right into Vael after we'd been killing him for a month or two, apparently oblivious to the fact that Vael is not your friend anymore after you've wiped. :<
And there was that one time when I was pulling 2-3hrs of sleep every night and I dozed off, my hand falling on my move keys and running right into Vael. I didn't snap to until I was dead and so was half the raid. That was during 1hr Vael too. I wasn't popular that night. I also ninjapulled Broodlord by stealthing into one of the Whelps right in front of him. Suppression room was taking an absurd amount of time and I'd been fighting to stay awake for half an hour. I played a Rogue.

On the subject of Vael, Our raid leader, a hunter, used to always shoot/FD him, because of something beneficial it did, i cant remember... Anyways, the first time he did this, he neglected to tell the raid what he was doing, and a few peoples pets were on aggressive... yeah, that didn't end too well.
He always did this, every time we did Vael. I swear, every raid, either someone would forget he did this and have there pets on aggressive, or someone would freak out and attack him themselves, or Vael would resist the feign death. It never failed, if we wiped once, we wiped at LEAST once more to our own Raid Leader.

Shoot/FD on Vael gives the raid Essence of the Red, making buffing and setup a breeze. Infinite mana makes the entire raid buffed in about 20 seconds, as compared to 3 minutes.
Just don't get a resist ... or you just wasted 15 minutes.

Way back when, learning Major Domo in MC. The tank wanted extra aggro, so he equipped his pet bombling, which then proceeded to ignore Domo entirely and spend the entire time breaking sheeps. Good times.
On Vael, it was always fun if he died while I still had Burning Adrenaline, I'd get off as many instant cast rezzes as I could and blow up those quick enough to accept the rezzes.

Smart guilds did something like aggro him with an Eye of Kilrogg, where there was no risk of Vael turning on the raid and proceeding to obliterate everyone.
I miss the days of nice, small aggro radii. >.<

Old Soul Reckoning
My old raiding guild had a classic moment in Molten Core.
Our normal puller was a very talented Hunter with a knack for knowing exactly when to pull packs to avoid extra's, and when to feign to split packs. Well here we were, pulling trash at the end of the first thin walkway (multiple dogs and earthies roaming the area). Our hunter is AFK, but we have 39 other capable hands, so Raid Lead calls for a pull.
One of the rogues says on Vent, "Don't worry, I saw a hunter do this once", as a joke. Proceeds to pull about 4 mobs onto us at once. We really didn't fight back, since we were laughing to hard.

On our second or so Rage Winterchill, we were flagging behind somewhat on trash and the raid leader tells rogues to get out of the base and chain Distract Winterchill to buy people time to get out of combat and equip sta gear. I vanish, move out a bit, and stand a bit off the side from the main road so he doesn't spawn on top of me.
Unfortunately he did spawn on top of me and combat pulsed the entire zone before tearing me to bits, pretty much ruining the attempt. I swung around my camera and noticed the great big huge undead base behind me with a path leading onto the main mountain road. Oops . . .

We did something evern sillier... park the warlock's imp on one side of vael, park the warlock on the other and /pet return or whatever the equivalent maneuver was. It would eat the imp, give us all Essence of the Red, and then return to standing up and glaring at the wsll.

I had a great frogger experience with my guild. I had picked up a raid leading utility that lets you save/recall raid group makeup (I don't recall which one). As it turns out, switching the group makeup of 40 people instantly caused an inordinate amount of lag for some players.
Suffice to say one day after killing patchwerk enough people were bragging about never dying on frogger that I decided to toggle the group makeup back and forth repeatedly. Boom boom.

On Supremeus the other day I was dodging some volcanoes and impulsively decided to intervene to a player in front of me quickly to avoid volcano damage...
Unfortunately, I had intercepted the main tank and only had a couple seconds to ponder my imminent death =)

The other night we're buffing for Mag and as we're almost ready to pull gates slam closed and all we wipe before we start. I check the damage meter and see a few warriors at top and know these guys only tried to salvage the raid, a shaman that hit for 250, and a warlock that hit for 209. Figured someone right clicked getting ready to pull and accidentally pull.
Run back, buff up outside the room again and as we're running in the same damn thing happens and, of course, no one fessed up the first time. No one is fessing up the second time. I check the damage meters and only one person is on the list. The warlock. With his Imp on aggressive.

I've intervened the MT on several occasions until I figured out what was going on. First time was on Prince when I was enfeebled, then on the Bog Lords when they were doing Spore Quake, and probably a few other times, too.
At some point they changed the way intervene works, if you have a hostile mob targeted it will attempt to intervene the targets target so you have to choose the person you want to intervene before you press the button, but I was used to pressing intervene then just clicking on the easiest person to find around where I want.
