When I first did void reaver (we had him on farm, was the 3rd kill or so), I was convinced that VR shot the orbs high in the air, and it fell like a fly ball in baseball. I tilted my camera slightly upwards so I'd be ready to dodge like a pro.




I proceeded to die 30 seconds into the fight. Whoops.

Then I got battle rezzed, and died 20 seconds afterwards.

Back in the MC days, we used to enjoy dropping Power Infusion on unsuspecting mages riding the threat line during the trash. Was great seeing those big cuddly giants come bounding back across the raid to gib one. Worked doubly well if you saw someone pop a trinket.

A while back my net company decided to change my adsl plans which lowered my cap, so I spent about 4 months not realising I'd been capped 50% of the time, leaving me disconnecting constantly for razorgore, broodlord + trash, any trash after that, phase 1 and phase 3 nef. I had to leave vent aswell.

When my old guild was learning C'Thun, we were near the entrance all ready to go. I asked in whispers if we were about to pull (since I was capped then), and we were. Then suddenly I see the tank run in on his mount, so I go in after... a second later I realise everyone was doing the normal lag 'auto run in one direction' thing, and I procede to disconnect.
Logged back in to find the whole raid dead because of me.

Back when the auto attack enabled auto shoot for hunters, we had a hunter accidently pull patchwerk as he patrolled to his little idle spot.

Another time I preemptively casted fade as we pulled twin emps, only to find I had feared a ton of bugs around me. A mage came and aoe'd them, so we recovered!

Not really stupid, but I'v had my WoW constantly crash while doing gothik, really was a pain.

I'v seen imps on aggressive at green dragon get a few warlocks killed. Bads constantly failing at thaddius jump and frogger tunnel.. to this day too, in a half pug naxx. I'm proud to say I can walk through that tunnel, without abusing the large gaps the blobs sometimes leave open.

We had an old guy that was pretty bad at this game, when it came to the frogger tunnel, he'd just try and sprint through in a straight line, seriously. I think he ended up standing on Fuegen's platform for the entire duration of the thaddius encounter, many times on his hunter.

A few times in my old guild, the main tank would get unlucky streaks of dodges and so on, so the hunter that pulled the emp would end up tanking for a bit. I don't know why I found that so funny, but the sight of two dwarves, one just standing there with stoneform and dying seconds later coupled with the abuse after.. I just couldn't stop laughing.

Well there's that. I feel quite relieved!

Right clicking an app's portrait and accidentally clicking 'Promote to Raid Leader' instead of 'Whisper' was good for a laugh.

After dealing with all the eggs on Razorgore I went to lay on hands (shift-middleclick) the MT and cast divine intervention instead (shift leftclick). I removed DI from my Clique until recently. Say hello to an instant threat wipe for the tank!

Ironically enough now I have used this legitimately on Leo to wipe the debuffs off the warlock tank sub 15%.

After a wipe at Gruul last night I released and started to run back. Halfway there I received a res and mindless as can be I accepted it and keept on running for some reason. Unfortunately for me and the raid I was facing Gruul at this time.

what's the name of that chat mod? I like the look.

I joked to a warlock in my guild that the only way to escape Prince's enfeeble is to hellfire.

He took me seriously.

We were working on Souls p2, and we had a really sub-par raid. 1 lock, way too many healers/tanks... but we were convinced we could still perfect p2 deaded/interrupts and maybe see p3. Our best was 10% p2 before oom.

As dps was *needed* to get anywhere, I never intended to stop dps in p2, aside from threat. I still made sure I used BloodFury at a different time to TBW/trinkets tho. Anyway, I must have had some slack heals and been on ~5k cause I crit twice in a row and went boom!

Later on I also died at 1550 shadow aura mark, with a pot on Spite (when the raid killed him at 3500ish), healers mustn't of liked me after the first incident

I was trialling with a new guild back in 1.0, and they were attempting Gluth. I made my fair share of stupid mistakes at first, but this one was my worst...

Full pots for Gluth, I was subbed in for a "last attempt" after a rocky night. Went in, everything was fine and dandy, came up to Gluth and I hit my tranq button... still enraged.

I realised my bow was unequipped.

I quickly put it back on and went to tranq again and it still wasn't firing. I was mashing the button and cussing at this point and had not a clue what was going on. I spam-equipped my bow again and it still didn't work. The healers were all going crazy, kept the tank up for a while, but surely enough he died after a few seconds of enrage.

Running back it occured to me that the last fight I did was Nefarian... and I had had my tranq shot button bound to unequip bow.

D'oh.

Nobody found it amusing when I had the gall to say on vent "well if it's any consilation, I FD-stripped in time to avoid a repair bill".

Haha, excellent.

A tank died on that trash once, and the mob went straight for me - call it zen or just sheer luck, but I was on the ball enough to pull off an NS+Cyclone on one of those mobs and proceed to avoid a painful death.

Zen.

But that Gluth wipe was classic. I tried to defend you in the makeshift /o channel... but they were pretty pissed At least it wasnt another mage wipe tho.

My new personal favorite is on the Kael fight, when people get unwittingly MCed on top of the phoenix egg we're trying to kill and die a few seconds later, only to repost from their combat log:

Although recently when we're bored and we go to Gruul, I like to initiate a game I call "gronnchicken," where the other ranged DPS join me in running underneath Gruul to see who he splatters with hurtful. Since I'm a shadow priest I usually get flattened first... but it's awesome.

Ah one of the best combat logs I've ever seen involved our 33/28 warrior burning 80 rage to execute our MCed pally before he could bubble out of the MC in Shadow Labs. He changed his vent name to "Your execute crits Douglasquaid for 8450" for two weeks.

Waiting outside Black Temple this evening, Doomwalker kept on randomly yelling as though pulled and resetting. I then noticed a small yellow 100 appear above his head.

My [Darkmoon Card: Vengeance] was hitting him from about 70 yards away. This was amusing until I dismounted and he came running towards where we were stood waiting to zone in. Fortunately only a single Paladin was a victim of a potentially legendary wipe.

I tanked Magtheridon without my staff yesterday. Also I used a Shattrath Flask at the same time.

While I was missing a lot of stam, dodge, armor, defense, I was getting hit harder so I had more rage

One of the most stupid thing that I caused happened back in Ony. I thought to my self, "How close can I get stealthed... FYI she has good eyes for a old dragon mum.

Way way way back in UBRS, right as your leaving Rends room, you can stand out on the edge and pull pats on the bridge going into Draks room. We were in a good group but going way to slow. Hell why not spice things up, right!??! Thankgod for vanish when those dragons came charging around the room and wiped us

Not really stupid so much as being incredibly unlucky, but I found it good for a laugh.

To go light on the details I had been having trouble with fuses blowing in my house, but an electrician had assured me the problem was fixed. We've engaged Gruul and things are going well, he's at about 65% and dropping. At this point a fuse blows, this causes my computer to restart and power to be lost to part of the house. I turn the computer back on and tell myself I'll go fix the problem after Gruul drops. I get back on vent and back into the game at about 10%, he's still dropping nicely and surprisingly I even managed to survive my disconnect. At about 2% the second of the two primary fuses blows plunging the entire house into darkness. Well, can't avoid it this time, so I plod off to replace the fuses. At this point I discover that I have no more fuses of the appropriate size and have to take a trip to the Home Depot 20 minutes away to buy more. I get back, replace the fuses, and login. I'm immediately barraged in guild chat and tells with cursing, threats, and general annoyance in my direction.

As it turns out when the power went out the second time it took a minute or so for the game to realize that I was gone and counted me present for the kill. I was the master looter at the time and the guild was unable to retrieve their loot while I was off wandering the Home Depot. Fortunately, a GM agreed to restore the loot and mail it out, but I certainly wasn't popular for a few hours.

And before anyone asks, yes, even in the day and age alot of older houses do still use fuse boxes and not circuit breakers.

Had an applicant to our guild, who I took along on a Gruul raid I led last week. He seemed OK, but I was a little concerned that he wasn't asking any questions about the fight (which he hadn't done before), but a million and one questions about our DKP system, loot distribution, etc. So I was a little dubious, and decided that I'd like some other officers to meet him before making a decision.

One of them said to him, "hey, we're doing Mag tonight, it would be great if you could come along for a trial run".

His reply? "i was there last week for a trail run. there is no point going if i'm not in the guild so i can bid on epics."

Never seen anyone earn himself a "thanks, but no thanks" to an application so easily.
