Also a pain is people who try to jump the SSC elevator as it's "just going down".
I can make it, i can make it, i can.... i didn't make it.
It goes a bit slow, but then speeds up very fast, causing you to fall after it rather than onto the platform.
A good rule of thumb is : If it's going down, never jump after it.

gah, mistyped... *sigh* just chalk it up to another stupid thing done, this time by me. I'd edit it to correct it, the tank is the one who took the bolt, but there have been responses to it.
To set the record straight (and after hearing it loudly from my said tank and supported by a Reaper report), it was hit-crush-crush right after a cataclysm hit the tank.
It's also doubtful it's hit-crush-crush, the shaman add in the encounter doesn't crush at all. None of the adds do in fact, only FLK himself does. What you are seeing however is a genuine Windfury from the Shaman, so the damage can resemble hit-crush-crush because the latter two hits get extra attack power through Windfury.

Huh, since the Reaper report only gives numbers, that is quite possible. Thanks!
As for more stupidity, Here's a classic. Our warrior is geared up and ready to pull the first Tempest Keep Destroyer in Heroic Mech. We're all set, he pulls... and gets gibbed. I was healing him, and it took less than the 2.5 seconds for a healing Wave to land. Which is when he realized... "Oh, maybe I should switch back to Defensive"
An Enslaved demon had been tanking for a bit, so he'd been in Zerker to up DPS. Oops.

Actually, the very same thing happened to me yesterday evening, while farming badges for my warrior. Now, of course, the PVP craze meant I've been arms for a while, but I suddenly decided to go back to the basics. So, a quick visit to the Undercity warriors' quarter later, I was back to prot. I got a few old heroic partners together, and set of for the day's heroic, which happened to be heroic Mechanaar. At the very first pull, we wipe, because i was in Zerker Stance. Well, I was still in dps gear, with a King's Defender but no shield equipped, so that MAY have helped.
See, there's proof that PVP has killed PVE, right here

A warlock casting amped COD on Lady Malande on the council fight , effectivly one shotting himself .. Twice.
He was a lost to how he died until we checked on recount.
So tonight as we were running up to Illidan after wipes (one of those weeks you want to forget) I talked to Akama and started the event before we were even buffed/had everyone there.
Last night, we were doing heroic BM, and I pull the next Rift Lord with a shield toss. He promptly walks over and chomps on our drinking healer.
As it turns out, my Divine Shield and Avenger's Shield buttons are right next to each other, and I bubbled right before tossing. Apparently I was too tired to notice the big glowing bubble glowing around me.
Some friends and I were vaguely dissatisfied with the guild we were running Kara with. They had the gear, they just didn't seem very...good at it. We basically found them to be too casual for our tastes. After we were propositioned by another guild, we decided to run with them for a week. After all, it couldn't hurt, could it?
The guild leader was aggressive and on a very short fuse. One of my guildies threatened over /guild to hearth if the guild leader didn't chill out. Fortunately, he did. It's probably a good thing we one-shotted attumen, two-shotted moroes & maiden, and one-shotted big bad wolf because he may have simply snapped if we had problems.
These people were undergeared(No one in full blues IIRC), but maybe they could do Curator. So we get to Curator and the three of us that had been there kind of explain it. We had a useless sl/sl lock who wanted to try and tank all of the adds in a corner, but we ignored him and emphasized that the adds are death, they MUST be DPS'ed down fast. Naturally, when we actually pull Curator some people DPS'ed Curator anyway. I hurriedly say to NOT DPS CURATOR. I believe everyone stopped. While we were dead, I briefly bitched about people DPS'ing "The fucking Curator" instead of the adds. Perhaps I should've emphasized more the NO DPS ON CURATOR before the attempt.
Seeing as how he was one of the people that DPS'd curator, the guild leader completely snapped on me. He declared me to be a useless fucking n00b that was only there because of my gear. Someone with THIS spec and +61 spellhit called ME a n00b?
Before I had time to react, a guildy said, "Thanks for the run. Good night."
My guildies and I all hearthed without saying another word. I promptly apologized to the other guild leader for not being available for Kara this week.
The Lesson: Do not rip into your main tank when YOUR tank isn't even uncrittable and his friends are the top DPS'er and healer.
happened in early SSC progression once when warr fell down the water. Teamspeak:
"Haha let's watch that gnome eaten by fish! -"
*4 ppl falling down*
"Shit! wtf"
Priest: wait I'll rez
*Priest falling down*
*two people going to watch where is corpse of priest and falling through glitch*
Personally most stupid thing I did: I ran alt's kara on my shadowpriest and used SW on Prince when I was enfeebled, silliest death ever
The only thing that sustains one through life is the consciousness of the immense inferiority of everybody else, and this is a feeling that I have always cultivated.
We had a terrible raid last night. The highlight was having a warlock killed himself on Essence of Desire with a 24k Curse of Doom.
Our destro lock of moron-itude (nicknamed X, literally):
Vent: <X> Hey guys, I just got a 16k Shadowbolt. WTF?!
Vent: <me> uhm ...
Vent: <X> Oh crap, another one! I'm dead!
Vent: <everyone> You're an idiot. How many times have we killed RoS?

On our first Illidan kill I was talking with my fellow raid leader after a wipe and failed to notice most of my gear was yellow. For whatever reason our healers decided not to heal me after the first flame was down and I died. I was watching positioning after I was dead and waiting for the phase 3 transition to grab a battle res when I realized all my gear was now red.
I then proceeded to whisper the main tank (our resident engineer) to drop a repair bot mid-fight. By some stroke of magic he managed to do it. I took my battle res, clicked on the repair bot, purchased the the potions (good game new repair bots that sell them!), used said potions to heal up (since in my infinite amazingness I had also forgot to pick up health stones before the pull), and then proceeded to repair. This attempt we downed Illidan for the first time.
The funny part about this (other than our main tank being the one to drop the bot mid fight) was that I had been frapsing the whole time. Needless to say this made for an amazing video of our first Illidan kill.
Hmm a nice threat to make my first post it seems so:
-With a mage on mag was trying to type "Oh come on! Enough talk!" and enter didn't work.. "O" happened to be my acrane explosion shortcut..^^
-Aran with a priestling: He dies just as flamewreath was finishing casting and no flamewreath effect appears naturaly i presume it was never cast. so i res a fallen warrior, the result: near wipe after boss' death.. \o/
-Akil'zon: was running towrds the tank before the storm hits game an system error occured, game minimised, i kept running through them all to the far end to get storm on me
-Gruul: we had many new folk with us so the tackics were taking for ever so i grab my mage turn autorun on and "/y Huggytime!"
-Maulgar: Was tanking Krosh and when we reach him at around 5% his spellshield disappears, and i get a wisper from another mage in the guild "haha! got ya!"
Hehe, this week, we've been getting the Vashj Vial for some new applicants, so I ended up in SSC, again. Now, this place is boring enough when you're clearing it for progress, let alone for vials, sacrificing a progress raid. So, anyway, I was even more bored than usual that night; and we get to Morogrim, which is hands down the single most boring fight in tier 5 content.
Now, all 3 of us hunters were in the same group; so, anyway, at some point, rather early in the fight, both the others had used their MDs on the main tank, our resident boomkin was dangerously close on threat. Everybody on TS was 'Sam, less threat" and such, and a discussion along the following lines took place in /p for group 5 (hunters+ rogues group) takes place
<Hunter CL> Someone who has an MD use it on the MT
<Other hunter> Misdirected MT
<Hunter CL> Need another one, Sam's too high
<Me> Wouldn't it be better to MD Sam instead?
<Hunter CL> Haha
<Hunter CL> 10 gold for whoever does that
So, anyway, soon as my MD came up, <Casting Misdirection on Samaris> came up on raid chat
Here's the really stupid thing I did... I canceled the MD after one shot... I'm sure it scared the heck out of him, though...
Misdirection is way too powerful a tool to be in the hands of hunters. Really.
PS: Envee, I expect you'll be sharing that movie with us sometime soon?

Along those lines, clearing trash in SSC a long time ago with my old guild. I had a hunter whisper me while clearing murlocs, "Stop sheeping I'm trying to get a shaman killed." Needless to say, I'm not with that guild anymore.

I just finished editting it. I had to highlight it to the tune of Britney Spears "Gimme more" to make sure I accentuated my awesomeness properly. Another guildy is going to compress/host it, so hopefully I can get a link up sometime this week once I'm moved back to college.
I made up for this mistake the other night, though. We had one of those demon meatballs not die to aoe and melee had to chill for the incoming aoe blast. Meatball man had ~10% health left, I was at a close percentage after the aoe, and I decided to risk my life for the other persons (demon phase tank healer). Inc SW:D crit for 4.7k. Praise Jesus for overpowered shadowpriest crits in my opinion.
edit: I just watched the video again, and I noticed that I was clicking almost all my spells. You have to love respeccing from discipline pvp right before the raid and being too lazy to rebind all your keys, eh? I fail at this game

In an SSC key run last week I offered 50g in raid chat for any to hunter who kills our moonkin with a misdirected murloc warrior after saving the moonkin from dying to a broken sheep, only to find out that he broke to try to kill the mage who was sheeping it. We cleared all the packs and sadly no dead moonkin.
The 50g was awarded after the last pack died however, when one hunter took it on himself to misdirect Morogrim into the moonkin.
1) Way, way back, pets could get afflicted with Geddon's bomb, and it would be saved if the pet was dismissed before it blew up. A hunter in another guild thought it would be funny to let the pet get the bomb debuff and then quickly dismiss it. When he later (deliberately) called it at the bank in Orgrimmar, it killed 20-some people. I understand that he got a 3-day suspension.
2) A guild hunter accidentally pulled Vael, twice in a row, while we were buffing. Apparently, his attack key was also near his vent key. This was after I accidentally pulled Rag after a wipe, twice, a few nights earlier. Once I was just too close, hit the wrong key, and plugged him with an arcane shot. The other was by rezzing my pet: turns out that if you park your pet somewhere and it dies there, when you rez it, it will run thru the lava and through Rag to get to your side. After that, we started doing buffs more than 41 yards away.
3) At one point, if someone besides a pet's owner rezzed a pet that had died with a DoT on it, that DoT would remain after the rez and keep ticking. So if the pet happened to be on anything but passive, it would get rezzed and then head straight for the boss as soon as the DoT ticked. "Hey HunterX, why is your bat attacking Magmadar?"
4) Screech (pet buff) was broken for a while such that it had no Z-axis check. Made for some interesting BWL pulls in the suppression area and right after.
5) Right after "combat pulse" change for bosses was added, Rag frequently wouldn't properly reset if a hunter FD'ed during a wipe, and would stay aggroed. Always funny to FD on a wipe, go for a drink, then come back and stand up, and put everyone that has just rezzed back into combat.
6) More recently, the change to make pets always attack from behind has resulted in some "creative" pathing on the bridges in SSC. I somehow managed to aggro ALL six Hydross trash packs during our first pull of the night that way, a month or so ago.
7) Figuring out, the hard way, that snakes from snake trap will trigger Flame Wreath on Aran.
8) And best of all: hearing all the cries of "Hunters are OP'ed!!!" after the same hunter mentioned in #2, above, solo'ed the King in DM North a bunch of times to get the Quel'serrar book for a guildy tank.

Reason: Grammar
Meters can be bad mid-run, but in this case, I guess it was a good thing.
One ZG (way back before BC), right before taking on Hakkar, someone asked for a Healing meter broadcast. What's odd about them is that I, as a warlock, clocked in above one of our holy priests. Said priest is no longer with the guild I was in at the time.

ahh yes theres tons of rather entertaining stuf that ive wiped to.
1) having a hunter pass out due to being drunk in a late night AQ20 and having his face hit the forward key while setting up for moam
2) "player" summons mechanical yeti. "RAAWWWWWRRR" goes up hits a Buru egg. we die.
3) our druid healer using hurricane on Tidewalkers adds instead of healing out MT.
4) cube clickers failing to click on mag becuase "I was eating buffalo wings and my fingers were all greasy"
5) Vael: "Crank we want you to go balls out on DPS here." "are you sure? i dont think the tanks will hold agro" "Go balls deep crank" (engaged).... "CRANK WATCH YOUR AGRO. VANISH CRANK DONT PULL AGRO" (crank gets agro) vael breathes on the raid. we die.
6) some one using the leper gnome costume wand on oour tanks mid fight on Firemaw.
7) having out app hunter say " i give up i cant do this" on hakkar (he was pulling the adds)... had to have a rogue pull the adds from 80% till kill.
8) "ok "hunter" go pull baron." "hunter" begins to run to the entrance.
9) (golemagg is at 75%) "afk a min guys i gotta roll a joint"
10) "hunter" ... where is your pet going.... as it runs to the other bog overlord in hydross's trash
and of course the SSC crack the fish and the elevator.
