Speaking of Enfeeble...

I was leading a Kara run with a bunch of alts and newish 70s. I had one ret paladin in here who was completely new to raiding. After watching them dps for a while, gave them a few pointers about proper usage of seals and judgements, including that Seal of Blood was better for dps than Seal of Command. After that said paladin's dps improved a lot, and they were constantly exclaiming about their how much better they were doing. Soon, we got to prince, and after a quick explanation, we started the fight. Less than 30 seconds after we engaged him, the paladin just dropped dead. For a few seconds, I was utterly bewildered, then it hit me that I had forgotten to explain one rather important caveat about Seal of Blood...

Fortunately we killed Prince anyway and we just laughed it off. But I felt pretty dumb at the time.

Tank: *excuses about hitting the wrong macro*

I think we got him to 5% or something after the tank had died before the entire raid had died, but my memory is pretty foggy.
Managed to do that yesterday in ZA - thankfully just one one of the bear patrol pulls... Healers kept me alive as I had to actually switch back into WoW after it minimized the same split second as well. (Still not sure how the hell that happened, as I have disabled my windows button for that exact reason...)

Accepted to what? Nihilum?

Somehow I doubt it, since Wildhammer is a PvE realm while Magtheridon is PVP >_>

Ok, so we're in SSC. Hydross and Lurker were cleared on a previous night, this run had taken down Karathresa and Morogrim and we were having some trouble on Leo.

We finish buffing up for Round 4, fix some grouping issues, repair at the bot, and pull. Everything is going great, he's down to 55% with a little over 6 minutes to go...

<zoom to my home>

My father, whom I love dearly, had some internet problems downstairs. He decided to fix them by resetting the connection. My screams of anguish were quite loud upstairs as the 5-minute process began without warning me. The raid, now missing one of the primary healers (and only Earthshield), manages to go for another 3 minutes after I disconnect before going completely OOM, losing the Warlock tank, and shortly thereafter the rst of the raid.

Wiped by someone who doesn't play WoW is a new low for me.

To teach and to learn, to laugh and make others laugh. This is my purpose, and any day in which I don't wasn't worth the time it took to get through.

I stayed in the water on Lurker since my computer was awful and I couldn't time the jump up very well. I made sure I got line of sight by diving fairly deeply and emerging after a spout is over for breath. So Lurker does a spout right before he submerges for the first time, and since it helps immensely if I'm up on the platform when the adds come to be able to sheep the one I need to I figure I need to be able to start trying to get on the platform asap. Instead of swimming up so I could surface without getting my head too high, I spam jump. And end up 50 yards away, dead, as the Spout passes over me right as I emerge from the water.

After the rest of the group barely handles the first wave of adds, a feral druid got hit by the next spout and got flung in my direction, where he died to the water before he could heal himself or rez me. I'm fairly sure he got hit intentionally too, given he went straight at me and sent me some cryptic whisper (he's French-Canadian and his written english is awful).

Just recently started doing Kara again on my war alt and noticed one thing different we do to all the trash between Aran and Chess, likely a old one to Kara regulars, thought it was stupid to skip all that rep but i guess most people could have been exalted 3 times over.

Back when TBC first came out and we were starting to do Kara a group of us were working on Netherspite. We start our first attempt and it is going pretty well, all of a sudden one of the tanks starts bugging out on vent wondering who is on the Yellow Beam. We wiped shortly after. As we are running back we are trying to figure out what the hell he's talking about. We start buffing up and all of a sudden the tank mumbles something about chain heal. Needless to say chain heal was this infamous Yellow Beam. To this day we still are tanking Yellow Beams in BT.

For a week and a half after reinstalling the game, I had somehow managed to bind taunt to my 'press to talk' vent key. As I tank most 5-10 man instance I'm in and am usually quiet on vent during 25 man fights I never really noticed this. The problem came when I started offtanking on 25 man fights:

Qed: (Something random)
Qed's taunt goes off
MT: Did you just taunt off of me?!
Qed: (over vent), "no, i don't think so"
MT taunts back
MT: "You sure"
Qed: "No, my taunt button's pretty far away from anything else i'm pressing"
Qed's taunt goes off again
MT: "You did it again!"

At this point I would tend to shut up and assume i'd fat fingered my keys or something. Because of this tenancy, me and several other tanks had this exchange a 3 or 4 times over the next week. Each time, I would keep taunting the mob in question as we argued over vent.

One of our locks disconnects at the start of Phase 4 however he's online long enough to get targetted by a Shadow Demon.

So he relogs to find himself in Shattrah:
http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...808_214833.jpg

But ofc there's a problem...he's in combat and paralysed, turns out the demon follows him to Shattrah:
http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...808_214915.jpg

He's then ofc killed and when he releases:
http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...808_214955.jpg
He's in Sentinel Hill!

The demon then reappears in BT, ganks our warlock tank before anyone can deal with it as it reappears beside him and wipes us on what was a solid go.

Later on we get to 2%, last person is alive but with a shadow demon on him as Maiev finished off Illidan and starts the end scripted event, demoned person dies, we loose the kill tag but Illidan dies...so yeah interesting night! -.-

Following in the vein of, odd kills...

We had an interesting night on mother a while back, the week after we first killed her.
First attempt of the night, was going pretty smoothly, when my rogue, a druid and a warlock I believe gets fetal attraction. Nothing big here, pop sprint, try to run. Nothing.
Turns out, we were ported directly inside of a couch, though happily I survived, as I had chugged a shadow protection potion immediately after hitting sprint. The next fatal attraction took me out, but put us virtually inside the main camp.
People died, tank yells at us to reset.

Next attempt, going great, when the tank gets two parries in a row, at the same time as a saber lash. ~24k damage in ~0.7 seconds, if I remember correctly. This of course happened at around 5-6% health remaining. I get instagibbed being the top melee on threat, and couldn't mash my evasion fast enough.
So she's running around, ganking people left and right, when finally she targets our other living rogue. Our dagger rogue.
He manages to get evasion off, with her at 1%. The only caveat being, it's just him, a resto shammy, and our Moonfire happy resto druid.

Long story short, the druid got the killing blow with a Moonfire crit.

I was three-manning Maraudon once with a warrior and priest friend. I was probably 54, they were both 60. It was not serious bzns, but I was rather upset when I was disconnected on a boss fight without warning, and the house was plunged into darkness.
I stomped angrily through the dark to inquire of my housemate what had tripped the breaker. (I should mention that the house had really weird wiring. My room had two outlets--on the same wall--that were on different circuits; one was shared with most of the house, I kept my computer on the other which was entirely separate. Anyway.) She had apparently decided to vacuum . . . at 2AM.

The exchange went like this:
"Why the sweet baby Jiminy Crickets were you vacuuming?! Didn't you think it might trip the breaker? [A common occurrence what with the wiring]"
"Well, I thought it might. But then I thought 'it won't be a big deal if it happens, Euri's on another circuit.'"
". . . THE INTERNET ISN'T."
". . . oh, right."

Last night we got Solarian for the first time and circled back for VR. We've been concentrating on SSC after the guild had downed VR back in July. I transferred over recently and had never been to TK until 2 weeks ago. We lost last week's TK to Mojogate so I'm still pretty green.

Last time I was there, I spent the entire fight face down, getting hammered by an orb. Dumbass. Well last night we switched things up and I was in healing the MT and melee. I ran in and thought I found a nice spot to camp and started stacking up HoTs. Orb? I'm in melee, how do I get an orb?!? Oh crap....Apparently, if you are supposed to be in melee range, you really do have to be close. Man, I feel like a tard. All the melee got fried and we missed the enrage timer, so in essence, I wiped the raid. /facepalm

I'm a combat swords rogue, mostly Kara-geared & a few SSC pieces. We're doing Leo. Somehow I missed both the /rw and Teamspeak calls for inner demons on the very first Insiduous Whisper of the attempt and by the time I realize mine is up (Hey, why is my health at 30%? I don't have aggro!) it's too late. We ended up wiping at 2%.

Few weeks ago, quite possibly our first set of proper attempts at Kael'thas and things weren't going very smoothly yet. We were rezzing/buffing up after a wipe mainly caused by p1 problems. As raid leader, i was ranting a bit on Vent about how people had to be aware of where they were all the time and how (for example) getting killed by Thaladred was a good example of bad positional awareness.

During all this i was happily jumping through the room, being somewhat bored with the wait until my bossmods started announcing phase 1 was going to start. It took me 2 seconds to realize that while the entire raid was in the back of the room, i had bounced a little bit too close to Kael. I quickly apologized and then shut up about the whole positional awareness business for a while

So we're mopping up winterchill after a hard-fought week of going back to SSC/TK for keying a bunch of people. I've recently acquired destruction pots and flame caps after not normally packing them. We approach execute range, and I'm so ready for big numbers that I neglect to see that a mana pot and gem would have been needed to have enough gas for the rest of the fight. Cue heroism, trinket, icy veins, destro potion, flame cap, combustion....wand, wand, wand.

How one poor victim in my guild learned not to take boss bets:

So, having killed Al'Ar weeks ago, my guild now treks in for Void Reaver attempts. We hadn't yet killed him, and our last attempts had been more than 2 months ago (long story there). Again on my resto shaman, I volunteer to be Melee healer in our instance channel.

In the raid itself, one particular DPSer, a fire mage, was not in said channel. Nor had he ever been to the fight before. Nor had he bothered to do more than look at the ranged DPS tips. Also note that we had recently been talking about how the individual total damage numbers were going down for our best people due to everyone else stepping it up and shortening the fight.

In whispers, I make a bet with this mage about how awesome I can heal. We end up settling on me carrying 15% of the raid's total healing as a baseline (my normal is about 14-15%), with a 10g bet for each point above or below it. The fight starts, I dive in under VRs feet, equip Healing Rains, the shadow priest in my group gives the fight of his life, and I proceed to cast Chain Heal 265 times that fight. Long story short, I performed 24% of the raid healing that fight (our first VR kill and a 1-shot), and the poor mage loses 90g.

To teach and to learn, to laugh and make others laugh. This is my purpose, and any day in which I don't wasn't worth the time it took to get through.

I did something similar to this, though mine is even more stupid. I usually blow a cooldown just as Leo casts his Insidious Whisper, so that I've got extra firepower against the demon, or boost up the numbers on the boss.

Insidious Whisper is cast, I blow my trinket, hit tab to target the demon and unload with both barrels. About three fireballs later I realise the demon is still at 100% health. Yeah, tab-target had somehow missed the demon standing right in front of me and stayed targeting Leo. I didn't manage to recover, though the demon was less than 5% when it mind controlled me.

At the end of our first night in Hyjal, the raid trooped over to Shadowmoon to do the BT attunement event. We figured a full 25 should be more than enough. So the event starts, we begin killing the various demons. After a short while, a named demon spawns, and one of our ferals picks him up. All is going well until he reaches 1% and (apparently) bugs out. Doesn't evade, but doesn't die either. Since none of us had done the event before, we weren't sure if this was intended behaviour. The raid leader, in a spark of brilliance, tells the feral to "DRAG HIM INTO THE PURPLE FLAMES!" that have spawned around the area, thinking this might kill him. It did not kill him. What it did achieve was to aggro Doomwalker who had been minding his own business on the other side of the (large, sight-obscuring) purple flames. Since Vent was abuzz with people celebrating the Hyjal success, as well as running around killing random demons and ogling Maiev, it took a while for the message to filter through that Doomwalker was having his way with the raid. We lost a good half of the raid before people clicked, and began fleeing.

"Drag him into the purple flames!" has rapidly become a stock standard response to "What's the strat" in our guild.

In case you weren't aware, you don't have to do anything at all for that quest. The demons will attack the NPC defenders, and Akama and Maeiv will show up and wipe them out on their own, then charge into Black Temple. All you have to do is sit back and watch.

Stupid thing of my own:

Our guild has killed Illidan 4 times now, but last Thursday was my first night there, having sat out for our other mages on previous nights. I knew everything about the fight, but there's a big difference between knowing what to do and actually doing it. Phase 3 is especially hectic, what with everyone trying to stay spread out and keeping DPS up, while watching out for parasites. I and the other mages are assigned to getting to the parasite-debuffed person and AOEing them down as they spawn. At one point during the fight, I see the message that "X has a parasite!" so I frantically look around for the marker. My eyes (for some reason) settle on a druid in tree form with some kind of shadowy aura, and decide that must be the person with the parasites. Timer ticks down, parasites spawn, and I happily Dragon's Breath into thin air, 30 yards away from the ACTUAL debuffed person.

I still don't stop hearing about it.

Today I was co-leading a ZA clearing. I was playing on my shaman instead of tanking on my warrior. and we had a slightly inoptimal group setup for the place, with one physical dps group, and one healer + tank +spriest group. No real AOE, no real CC.

We managed to get the first 2 chests down with ease, than proceeded towards the dragonhawk boss. First we had our druid offtank dying just as we killed the last adds.
All was going well on the timer, when at 70% our shadowpriest decides to die to bombs (all eggs were hatched by than). We continue, and I ask people to push their limits. Next, our hunter D/C's just before a Bombing, and proceeds to die before returning.
Dps slows down, with our remaining dps pushing everything they have.
We manage wiping at 3% due to our healers running almost out of mana, too low for any real burst healing. Our tank took a burst, and we wipe. 3 minutes on the timer remaining after everyone died.

Next week well have our first 3rd chest I bet.

Just 10 minutes later, boss down and all, we proceed with pulling trash towards Halazzi. On the first pull, a aoe/big cat, our fury warrior suddenly dies. Turns out he misclicked his Battleshout with Challenging shout, dying fast ofcourse.

Shortly after, we were starting on our first go on malacress, a challenging encounter with this group setup. Our fury warrior would pick up the human, while our druid picks up the dragonkin. Elemental would be trapped, and Undead Shackled.
About 5 seconds after the pull our fury warrior dies. Turns out he managed to whirlwind just after picking up the humanoid, breaking the shackle, and getting killed.

Luckily, after a few adjustments, we managed to kill him. (hurray for melee pack dps)

Good thing: we managed to 1-shot ZJ, despite having 3 new people to the fight.
