I think a legendary one was when our guildleader was waiting for buffs at Vael (our wipe recovery time was around 20 minutes back then) and out of boredom threw one of the event firecrackers at him, if only he knew that counted as a hostile action. Oh how we mocked him for ages.

Awhile back there was a patch that involved a change to a hunters autoshot, something along the lines of auto triggering it once you moved into range. So while prepping for our first ever Loatheb kill (read:all world buffs) one of our hunters just walks up and shoots loatheb, vent was bad >< Fortunately only half the raid was in the room and we killed him on the next pull anyways, it would have been really ugly for our hunter otherwise.

We have had a hunter attempt to pull the melee twin emp with arcane shot.

Ailee

I joined the guild a while back and they were working on their second Maulgar kill. Well, after some wipes I set MD to another tank to clear trash again and forget to reset it to the MT. So our druid tank didn't fair too well with both the priest and Maulgar on him.

Later than evening, the mage is counting down to the Pyro pull, MD is on the right person, I take a step up...... Pyro hasn't gone off yet and now they're charging me.

First few Mag pulls, I go to respond to a message in the hunter channel /4 with no /. Agro+Wipe. Attempt right after a shaman is trying to rezz someone and hits the Fire Elemental Totem button. "They're right next to each other"

Our initiation is in TK with the large Al'ar birds. Ask someone to stand behind the charge tank. No one has ever questioned it.

Tons of people die to the crack by Lurker. Someone always falls off somewhere along the way. Even more jump in the water and are surprised we didn't kill Lurker yet... but it's a Tuesday and it's our first zone in after the reset.

 

Marroc

If we're recounting personal experiences then I've got one that is uncharacteristically noobish.

I have garrote and expose armor on the same button (one on stealth, and one on my normal bar) and I raid kara as my pvp spec (30/0/31 premed hemo). Every now and again I used to lag just long enough for the combat pulse to pull me out of stealth between premed and garrote, and would thus expose armor the boss >_< Long story short it lead to a macro containing /cast [modifier] Expose Armor.

 

Lujaar

On the way to Prince, after the fleshbeasts overlooking the chess event, we tell people who've never been to Kara before that there's an important quest they need to go get. The quest-giver is in Medivh's bedroom, up the ramp on the left and on the other side of the door. If you've ever opened that door you know what happens next.

 

Marroc

We cleared that way on our first Karazhan just to get screenshots of our resident kitty druid humping a flesh beast on Midevh's Bed. Needless to say, we've never cleared that way again (god that's a lot of trash).

What I've been waiting for.

Pre-nerf Lurker hunter turns on aspect of the cheetah and jumps into the water.
People throw the tainted core to the warlock that is kiting.
A Holy Undead Priest with a 2 minute pvp trinket and a shaman getting killed to fires.
Melee dps that air burst our tank.
The non-prot warrior that runs in first to the hyjal waves before Azgalor and proceeds to die.
Someone testing their Tear and fly and aggro Archimonde.
Not throwing the spine on HWL till he is at full health again.
Hunter misdirecting our Paladin murloc tank on Tidewalker.
Hunter misdirects our tank and pulls aggro on tidewalker before it gets to him.

Oh god, one of our Shaman did this a few weeks back. I was crying I was laughing so hard when he explained what had killed him.

We had just killed Broodlord and were in the process of pulling the first pack after that, when we had a mage try out that arcane missiles bug mentioned earlier where you switch targets and it hits the second target no matter where it is. He ended up pulling chromaggus like that to broodlord's room, that was interesting.

Another time we were preparing to spawn Ragnaros, back when he had a timer and would despawn if you didn't kill him. We still had a lot of buffing to do, so a lot of people were still AFK. A shaman then says he has to AFK for a few minutes, okay fine no big deal. Then about 15 seconds after this shaman said he was AFK, we see him run over to domo. Hmm. He then talks to domo, and starts the Rag spawning sequence. Obviously, the people that weren't AFK were pretty damn pissed, and also confused. This guy was supposed to be AFK! Turns out he really was AFK, but his eight year old son who had a low level character thought Domo had a quest and got on the computer and ran over and talked to Domo and spawned Rag.

Rag wipe, story #2: Rag was already spawned, and we were recovering after a wipe. Just about ready to go but not quite, a hunter who had rag targeted accidentally turns on auto shot and wipes us. His excuse? "I was playing with a bouncy ball and it landed on my auto shot key."

Rag wipe, story #3: Warrior gets rezzed near the inner lava ring around Rag, gets healed up, and he hits auto run in the direction of rag and somehow doesn't stop himself from swimming through the lava to aggro rag.

Another good one was we were clearing lava packs, and on the pathway above Golemagg, someone decides to pop their Barov trinket. The lower level Barov servants aggroed Golemagg, who came charging around the bend and wiped us.

 

Rudy

One of our newest members back in BWL assumed the non-aggressive dragon in the second room gave you "A legendary quest" after speaking to him.

No one has mentioned the entry to C'thun's room yet? I remember the very first time my guild got there. We were running back to the imprisoned dragons to turn in the weapon quests when 30 people immediately die from green beams. Combat log messages like "4,000,000 damage taken (271 resisted)" were a good source of entertainment.

Two things of note that I recall:

1) A warlock managed to aggro Onyxia with an Eye of Kilrogg whilst we were buffing. He was bored.

2) Similar to what was mentioned earlier; My raid's buffing after a Vael wipe when all of a sudden we hear *creaky bow sound*.
Needless to say, that was another wipe.

Even better: two officers yelling at people to get in the damn water, how hard can this be, both die to spout. Oops!

After three wipes on Sapphiron back in the days, I'm starting to wonder why one of our mages show up on 0 Damage done, turns out he's been using frostbolts for 30 minutes without noticing anything. Makes me loose hope in humanity.

Some things just became too painful and must be repressed. We instituted an AP (DKP) penalty for wiping half the raid before we pulled.

Another addition to the BWL stories!

Back when you only had one hour of tries on the great red before he despawned, I caused a raid wipe when my guild was on our second or third learning attempt of the day. We'd just run back, and I was doing AI rebuffs while half asleep. I targeted a druid to rebuff, only instead of hitting the '0' key, I went one over to '-' . . . . . which happened to be bound to blink. Vaelastrasz proceeded to smash the idiot mage who had just appeared next him, then toasted the rest of the raid with flame breath. I was mocked mercilessly for the next week.

I wiped us on Hydross one time because I dropped a searing totem during a transition. Mobs really hate searing totem.

Lightning shield would pull aggro on Vael the first second of the fight.

People would routinely pull channelers before buffs were finished. It got so bad for a while that I wouldn't bother drinking elixirs until after the pull.

In AQ20 our shaman used to throw water walking on people as they jumped down to Buru. I only saw someone click it off once before they hit the ground.

One of our recruits tanked a whole MC run in berserker stance.

One Nef attempt we didn't kill WF totems first on the shaman call and Nef WF Shadowflamed our MT.

During Twin Emps, we'd have casters nuking right before the transition. I'd watch the frostbolt or fireball go all the way across the room right before the emps ran towards each other and started chain healing.

 

Olag

Twin Emperors - our MT kept on dying and started yelling at his healers, a clever rogue inspected the tank and asked nicely: "hey dude, why are you wearing your mining gear?"

 

Pizzarino

There were a few individuals in my guild that liked to wipe the raid in hilarious ways once every few months. Shooting Golemagg in the back from the bridge behind him, pulling the entire whelp pit while we were doing loot on Onyxia, shooting Grobbulus from his balcony, that sort of thing.

As a raid, we used to do death rotations on firemaw, while tanking him above on a different level. All healers but three stood on the egg to heal the MT, dps used no gear and nuked till the buffets killed them, only to receive an OOC resurrection from a carefully placed paladin. Healers had to wear gear, but they would use a demonic rune to take no dura. As for me, I'd die from BoW agro twice every fight, no matter what.

We had one of our main tanks get DI'ed randomly on Kael'thas. He had no idea what was going on, and said something on vent like "Guys I'm bugged out, I need to relog." Everyone got a pretty decent laugh at his expense on that one.

The other fun thing to do as a Shaman is to water-walk people who are pushing their luck just a bit too much on Spout.

Last week no fewer than 6 people fell in the water in SSC before we got to the third boss. I was not amused.
