I have an old habit I picked up in the old days of BWL raids of clicking useless buffs. Whilst buffing before Teron last week I went to click off A.I. just as another buff landed on me shifting the order my buffs were displayed in and putting my freshly applied flask under my right click

Is that a typo or did you actually go armoury him rather than just inspect?

I did Armory him. My Inspect screen comes up in an awkward position while mid-run, and my computer can easily handle Armory even with WoW playing. It was just for safety's sake, there.

Now for the topic:

Everyone knows the line 'Where's my pet?" can't ever be good in a raid. This was demonstrated yet again in Karazhan, as one of our officers somehow managed to target the wrong Mana Worm pack at the beginning of Shade trash. The result? Instead of 3 Worms and an Anomaly, we get 15 worms, 2 Anomalies, 3 robots, and a partridge in a pear tree.

We just killed the flames of Azzinoth and told the hunter to misdirect illidan to the MT, he replied with the legendary words: "I can't misdirect, my bow is broken".

Would have loved to have done Nefarian with that hunter aswell.

PS the hunter failed his trial :P

Years back I had macro that would whisper every raid member, usually I'd spam it a few times when we were not getting the next pull in MC fast enough, I'm not sure how the idea came to me, but my GM sent me a tell on Barron saying I was the bomb, either I resisted it or he was trying to fuck with me, I of course thought it was the 2nd one.

So I decided to go one better, I altered my wording of the macro to be the exact same message that CT boss mods send and promptly sent the tell to every raid member, a lot of people quickly turned around and started running for the wall, the people who actually did have the bomb blew up the confused wall bystanders, the people who were smart enough to look at their characters, realized that they were fine and kept doing what they were meant to be doing, luckily the tank died some soon time after, which lead to a complete wipe.

By that point most people were up in flames in vent, blaming me for wiping the raid on purpose, which I couldn't deny being the contributing factor. I gained a lot of notoriety for it, but in those few seconds when half the raid thought they were the bomb and in stead got blown up and the gradual cascade of the raid wiping, was prob the best moment I have ever seen in WoW, I was pretty much rolling around on the floor. Alot of members still around reflect fondly back on it as a memory from MC.

I don't have the balls to do it on Solarian these days, I know I could get a lot of people since its harder to tell if your the bomb, and most people have a set path they always take as well, so the real bomb would surely hit a few people.

Don't forget to take off your weapons brave stupid people.

This is a bit old-school...

We went into naxx this weekend for pure fun and old times sake, it was fun to see how people fell from the little passage leading to gluth and even better people not making the jump from the plataform to thaddius

OH yeah someone also always get killed @ the elevator on our ssc alt runs...

PS: I forgot to add, does anyone else has shamans that die and say ''can i get a brez?'' then we tell them to anhk and they say ''i forgot my anhks >_<...again''

We had the exact opposite on one of our latest Illidan kills. "Battlerez *someone who wasent where he was supposed to be*"
Druid:"Err, I'd love to, but I'm kinda out of seeds".

Last week we had a shaman asking his classmates for a quick ankh trade while he was in process of getting ghosted at Terron.

Guild Angst has been having a few issues with situational awareness in raids for the past couple of weeks, so the leadership has been trying to emphasize it. Then came ZA...

We are doing fairly well on the Dragonhawk avatar, though we had already missed the chance at the chest (bear resisted 3 taunts in a row, 4500 DPS is a bit on the hard side). As the hatchers start their work, our paladin tank (an officer) mentions that this will be a good way to test raid awareness. About 5 seconds later, the boss shouts "I burn ya now!" and starts his bombing special. 5 seconds after that, said tank eats 3 blasts and drops like a rock. A very burnt rock.

So, since we do the "Hatch a whole side" tactic, the raid gets eaten by the hatchlings. Always a quick thinker, he preempts us on vent with "See what I mean?"

To teach and to learn, to laugh and make others laugh. This is my purpose, and any day in which I don't wasn't worth the time it took to get through.

Agreed. The old story of "you can see Rag if you look down through the window". Another classic was the eggs in ubrs and how all runs someone always got some.

Our first council attempt, the priest was being MD'd to me, the paladin to another tank.

We pull them, they all bee-line to me, and I get destroyed in half a second, following by many "wtf". I'm trying to figure out why they didn't get pulled off me in time, as someone says "Uhhh, did I see a multishot there?". Yeah he multishot MD'd the council to me. ><

On one of our first Illidan kills, I had just wiped my mod configs and had re-setup everything that day. Usually I have Quartz modified to not show on the target castbar the spells "Air Burst", "Flame Crash", "Draw Soul" or "Enrage", so that I can blow up my target castbar really huge for dealing with Shear - what can I say, I'm extremely jumpy and having a huge sign in the middle of my screen helps quite a bit to keep from Shield Blocking a Draw Soul or something such in the post-Embers phase. Anyway, I had accidentally disabled the Target castbar altogether, much to my surprise in P1, and during P2 as I was standing there meleeing the first ember I opened up Rock to re-enable it. Much to my surprise I see a number resembling 16k pop up on my screen as two ticks of eye laser tears through me. I was dumbfounded at having even done this, but luckily I got battle rezzed and recovered very quickly after the second ember died and it went on to a kill. I'll never forget one of the officers whispering me "I'm so ashamed", though, and still laugh uncomfortably thinking back on it.

That memory combined with our first night of serious attempts where we would have killed him about an hour and a half sooner if I hadn't kept getting shaky-dog in the Maiev phase and getting sheared. Two separate attempts I died to shear during his enrage, got battle rezzed and soulstoned once the human phase ended, and then re-died. Pretty goddamn humiliating.

Luckily it's gotten a lot easier for me since, as the intimidation of the fight in general has faded.

Last week on Illidan, the other flame of azzinoth tank got all the luck with getting the lazer beams and the area was so filled with crap that his fps took a dive and then he did. So our MT quickly grabbed up the flame (with no Fr gear on) and held it until the first flame was down and I could take it from him. The fire damage was just a little more than the healers expected and he died just a second before I could take the flame. The fight continued and our MT got the battle rez for phase 3, however, the 10% durability loss was a little too much for his sheild and he didn't have a spare. He didn't realize this until that first shear in phase 3 when his sheild broke. And obiously you can't put up sheild block without a sheild.

So he's screaming on vent "My sheild broke, my sheild broke" and chaos ensued on vent. I figured I would try to intervene, but having never done that before, my timing was off. He took the next shear and I got nearly wrecked in my fire resist gear. This all happened in about eight seconds. The wipe was pretty quick and all I could think about with all the dead bodies was how that repair bot got there.

Apparently, one of our shaman was trying to think fast as well and dropped a repair bot, mid-fight, right next to our MT, who was franticallly trying to find it and open up a window to repair.

I guess you could call it stupid for him not to realize he's down that low on durability, but in reality I think you just cited some pretty good examples of intelligent play. I'm not sure how many offtanks I know would have been aware enough to intervene, and I especially don't know how many people would have thought quickly enough (and reacted!) to drop a repair bot within 8 seconds. Kudos to your shaman.

Recently did a Karabadge run, and we're staring Nightbane in the face. We get the first phase 1 done, I pop CoD when it's up, and we commence to destroying spawns. Something's in the back of my mind, screaming 'you're going to die...' but I can't quite figure it out. Nightbane lands, warrior picks him up, and immediately I see 8k go off over Nightbane's head. Oops.

As soon as I saw it, I ran back over to the warrior, where I ended up the rest of the fight looking at her shapely legs.

Didn't help that earlier in the run I clicked off salv because I was bolt-soaking on Curator. Yeah, not the wisest idea.

We once tried an interesting tactic on Lurker, early on our SSC career:
Everybody was on up on the outer platforms because somebody had heard you can outrange spout that way.
Hilarity ensued

And as far as personal stupidity goes, I can't jump the lurker platform to save my life.
I feel very very stupid every lurker kill, sitting in the water for 80% of the time.

No, but I once drowned on my undead warlock while farming primal waters in Skettis.

Recently we were fighting... agh, who was it... Azgalor, I think... Anyway, we were about 10% into the fight, tank had sufficient aggro over everyone else. Suddenly, the boss starts charging around, eating the DPS, and Hellfire-ing the healers. In about 5 seconds, everything except our tank was dead. As we were trying to figure out what happened, one of our two pallies (We were lacking this night) said "It wasn't me." When we looked as to what happened, the tank had Forbearance on, while the other pally, the one who didn't say "It wasn't me" used his BoP to prove it was up.

There's a point at which you forget breath exists. I've done this myself. It's annoying.

Heh, proof that we don't need no stinkin' raid boss for stupidity to show.

I'm running on normal Crypts on my rising Moonkin, a paladin is healing. The others in the party were a shaman, warrior (tank), and a warlock. After many trials and tribulations (kill the possessors FIRST dangit...) we are finally staring down Maladar. We engage, and all is going fairly well until he hits 20% and spawns the Avatar. The healer is at about 10% mana, so I target her for Innervate. Before I manage to fire it off, though, I find myself DI'd. Thankfully, the shaman was Elemental and noticed the paladin die, so he picked up the heals as I dropped the buff and we finished the fight.

Explanation from the Paladin? "I was OOM and forgot to bring mana pots, so I DI'd you for the wipe."

To teach and to learn, to laugh and make others laugh. This is my purpose, and any day in which I don't wasn't worth the time it took to get through.

At least the Paladin didn't DI the tank on accident or something :P That's always fun.

Met a 70 hunter today, sporting the S1 freebie axes with... no joke... dual crusader enchants!! Woot! Upon giving him some crap in general chat, he starts to kinda go off on me about how I'll never understand how it works etc, which is well, just ironic.

So I decide to armory him... gets even better!! A +4 resist gem in his khorium destroyer (lol?), a 4 hit gem (yes, the vendor purchasable ones) in his bracers and an 8 def. gem in his shoulders. Not to mention, a spec that looks like he just closed his eyes and clicked until he ran out of points. Not really sure where this guy gets off trying to brag about his 1337ness...

The World of Warcraft Armory

Good reads.

Other than that, I remember back in my 20's when the game first came out, I met a Paladin who didn't have any blessings b/c he didn't think they were worth training O_o.

And yes, the crack in SSC took at least 2-4 people every week in my old guild... when my new guild was still doing SSC, we'd lose... 0 people. Coincidence? I think not!

Best example of coming unprepared was during a heroic SH with a prot pally i know (too well for my own good really), and we are about to wipe on the last boss... I call for him to DI me b/c mine is down (horrible run...), and his reply? Sorry dude, I'm out of them! So what did we do? Well, I kept him alive long enough to trade him a damn reagent and he DI's me >< Funny after the fact, not so funny during :P

I often see a hunter hanging around the AH with a [Grand Marshal's Longsword] (yes, the level 60 reward) with Executioner. I hope he just did it for looks (and it does look fairly spectacular), but frankly, I'm afraid to ask.
