We had one guy who turned off his PC right after his first Vashj Kill (I mean literally turned off as soon as Vashj died), because he was too tired to do anything afterwards. His guild broke up after that and he never got his vial.

Just to note: testing Curse macros while the Raid Leader is explaining the Magtheridon fight is NOT a good idea.

Counterpell macros too.
Oh, and earth shield should not be next to earth elemental, especially before the pull.

Not so much stupid as pretty darn funny, but here goes. Our guild pulled together a good group to go run Auchenai Crypts earlier tonight. It was the first time in there for all of us, so we went through cautiously, and after we downed the final boss, we decided to run it again for fun. Our healer, a level 63 priest, got mind-controlled, so she called it out on voice chat. Being one of two melee in the group, I turn and start smacking on her. Her husband, a well-geared level 70 rogue, walks right over and starts whacking on her. Ordinarily the MC breaks after a certain amount of damage, but ol' hubby really put the hurt on her and managed to execute her before it broke.

*sigh* at least the second one wasn't me...
Still in the same night of attempts, tank on the 2nd channeler jumped the gun. Result? Tank on the 5th target doesn't get his opening attack off, and it comes to say hello to our healers.

Been there, done that.
It usually happens on my paladin. It's quite embarrassing suddenly realizing you've over-healed the mage by 20k. It seems only to happen on late-night runs when I'm too tired to be there in the first place.

Last night in BT I managed to body-pull by stealthing. Turns out that for mobs that see through stealth, your aggro radius is considerably wider when you're stealthed than when you're unstealthed. So I'm standing there, minding my own business, completely safe but fractionally in front of the tank. Go into stealth in preparation for the next pull, and suddely the next pack comes a-running to gank us. Fortunately not a wipe, but it was dicey there for a minute.

OMG.....this explains about 2/3 of our accidental BT pulls. I'm so going to yell at the druids now. ("I'm just scouting!")

Ah, I remember the days of Molten Core with this little detail. The Core Hounds have an in-freaking-SANE stealth detection range. Fast forward to the present day, and a rogue duo at 70, both Subtlety specced and Miners, were going back there to stealth around and ninja up some Dark Iron. All was going well, until they stepped on the first big platform and got charged by 2 Core Hounds.

This happened with me in strat all the time as well. I went back in there to get some righteous orbs and large brilliants for a couple crusader enchants for my leveling rogue, and stealthed out of habit and actually had some of the mobs detect me, yet I could run much closer without stealth.

I think this happened to me last night in Zul'Aman. I was running my Alt mage into the mostly cleared instance to get the 20 slot bag quest finished, and I saw that the patrol had respawned. I was standing over by the stairs, watching them slowly walk by, and thought "Hey, I've got invis, I'll just run past them like a ninja!"
5 seconds ticked down, one mob remained visible to me, and suddenly my agro warning went off. Stupid mobs.

I guess this qualifies more as noobish than simply stupid, but here goes anyway.
My mage has been fire spec since level 10. Never gone more than 11 points into frost. Our guild is working on Bloodboil right now, and our mages are all starting to respec frost for survivability reasons. I decided to go 0/0/61 the other day, and to test it out, I joined some guildies for a badge run in Kara last night. Never had a pet class before, so needless to say having a water elemental is a learning experience. I managed to somehow put my pet on aggressive early on, and the first time that I summoned him during Attumen trash, he ran right past all the trash, past Midnight, and aggroed all the mobs next to the blacksmith, causing a wipe. We then get to Attumen without incident, and my elemental is still up when we kill him. My elemental proceeds to immediately go after the blacksmith mobs AGAIN, causing another wipe.
Needless to say I learned where the Defensive button was very quickly after that.

Last week I was the strider kiter two nights in a row and for easier MD's/knowing who you can't toss the core to/having a relative location of the strider, we place a star over my head, so you can imagine how enthused I was when I received the core - both nights.

At the end of a long night tanking Illidan, I noticed on the run in that some of my gear was yellow. I ran back through on autopilot, talked to the first Ashtongue I saw to repair, then noticed that it was Akama. I had not repaired, but I had managed to start the event, much to the amusement of my guildies. Now whenever the raid is ready and the raid leader wants me to start the event, I get told to 'go and repair'.

Gotta wonder how some people go 60+ levels without learning this stuff...
Hunter in Blood Furnace today kept on using Serpent sting. The problem here is that he'd use this sting on his Freeze targets as well.

First time fighting Leo. We'd wiped a few times and I'd quickly learned to hate Whirlwind. So when he Whirlwinded, I ran away.
Far away.
I ran so far away, that I aggro'd the patrol that occasionally wanders into the back of the room, causing an instant wipe. :P

Mmmm this is a funny thread. Might as well add my own.
1. I raided as a paladin pre BC, I've done my fair share of accidentally BoPing the tank, or a melee class (It's so funny when a melee class gets BoPed, they stand around thinking "why do I have a bubble on me and why can't I attack?). After the first few accidents, I placed my BoP and Divine Intervention buttons FAR away from anything even remotely useful.
2. I leveled a priest as well, when it was L55, I was asked to be the Fear Ward bot for a green dragon kill (whichever the green dragon is that does the aoe fears, I forget the name right now). One of the paladins DIed the tank about halfway through the fight. Vent was filled with screams of "Offclick DI, hurry the healers are dying" and our tank yelling "I can't find the buff!" Good times.
3. Pre BC again, our tank had just gotten a new bow/gun from ZG a few days earlier. We had just wiped on Vaelstrasz, and were regrouping for buffs/assignments/whatever. We decided to take a break for some reason, and so our tank decided to play with his new bow. He would target Vael, hit the "Shoot" button, then cancel the cast before the arrow fired. He did this a few times, but the last time, he got a bit of lag or something, and actually shot (and aggroed) Vael. Screams of "Who started" went up on Vent, one of the rogues hit Sprint and ran for the exit when he saw what happened, but the door smashed shut and we all got killed pretty fast. Vent was real quiet after that. :-) We never let him forget about that either, reminded him every day.
4. After BC I decided to play a priest. First time into Gruul, my computer lags so much. End up dying 5 times in a row and using up all the battle rezzes, soulstones, and innervates. Oh goodness, the raid leader was really pissed at me then.
5. First time we did Nefarian pre BC, all our hunters' ranged weapons broke when Nef did his hunter class call. I managed to throw down a Field Repair Bot in the corner so the hunters would repair in the middle of the fight.

On a Magitheridon farm night, one of the warlocks assigned to click the cubes got a Windows message:
"New updates installed! Restarting computer in 50... 49... 48..." message right when he was supposed to click, causing a wipe.
He probably would have been yelled at more by the RL, but he was the RL.

We had one raid night at the beginning of the new year where the MT would disconnect, then a flame tank would disconnect, then 2 healers at once, then the MT again, then a bunch of melee in the blue beam patch...we eventually called the raid. About 20 minutes into this, our druid officer put up in /rw "You Are Not Connected", and it stuck.
