As for dying to dot ticks during RoS p2, isn't that the healers fault?

honesty
I'll own up to my nub mistakes. I'm a shadow priest and after 20-25 ticks in the blue beam for Netherspite I cast Shadow Word: Death. Critted for ~7k and with the debuff on me, was taking 224% more damage from spells than normal. D'oh! And I know I"m not alone in this one too, I've been pressing the button for SW: D JUST as I've been enfeebled. Why, oh why, couldn't Prince have resisted that one?
Now on to an episode that occurred this weekend in SSC. On the way to Hydross, we were getting ready for one of the 5-pulls and one of the hunters fell off the platform. The pet, being on follow, took the shortest route to it's master which was just in front of the trash. Needless to say the pet was one-shotted. But, because we we're almost ready for the pull, we didn't wipe. Of course, since we were saving our own butts, the hunter bit it. We have a rule in our guild, as I'm sure many others do too, that if you do something stupid, especially at the beginning of an instance, that you have to run back. No rezzes for you!
After the pull, someone made a crack that hunters shouldn't have their pets out. When it was pointed out to him that the hunter in question was Beast Mastery, he apologized and we moved on. A pull or two later someone noticed that the hunter was registering as a ghost on their raid frame. Curious, we asked the hunter what was up. He responded that he had gone to Ironforge to respec Marks.
Not only had the hunter left the raid to respec w/o telling anyone, he had burned his hearth to get to Shatt. From there he went to IF and respecced. Then, he had to spam trade for a port BACK to Shatt and fly back to Coilfang, because we sure as heck weren't gonna send more people out summon him back. So, approximately 30 mins. after misstepping on the way to Hydross (which wasn't that big of a deal), we finally had our hunter back and significantly less respect for him.

DoTs in phase two are those DoTs you put on the boss. That's the nature of Aura of Desire.
And as for Healer's fault? When your raid dps sucks and they've been out of mana for 15-20 seconds there's not much you can do except do as much damage as you can while attempting to not kill yourself in a vain attempt to push Reliquary to phase 3.

I sent 500g to an alt I was leveling. Got bored around lvl 5 and figured this was a pointless attempt at leveling an alt and deleted the character, before I realized there was 500g sitting in his mailbox that I forgot to get before deleting. /sigh

I believe that even though you deleted the character, the gold should be returned to you after 1 month. So in 30 days you'll recieve a 500g gift from an unknown benefactor
You can also ask on the Customer Service forum about retrieving your money.

So, I'm the first to admit that I'm bad at pvp. (Ok, I'm actually like the 50th to admit it since I have to wait for the rez timer from dying so often). However, every once in awhile you have the pleasure of coming across someone who is even worse.
I was in EotS, skulking around behind the legs of VR seeing if I could pull a ninja. There's a warlock there and I know better than to try to confront a warlock 1 vs. 1 as a mage. Then he spots me and sends his imp after me. That's when I realize I might actually have a chance. So, I kill the imp and then go after the lock.
I killed the lock. While he was trying to re-summon his imp...

Actually the thing that bothers me most about Archimonde is the whole 'dps doesn't matter just stay alive' part. I have honestly seen a warlock 100+ yards away from fire running in a small circle for 20 seconds to get ready for a fear. It strikes me that, if you're not even going to *TRY* to damage the boss...WHY ARE YOU THERE?! This is made worse by the fact that when said warlock or priest or whatever *does* get chased by fire, they (a) die or (b) kite it into the raid.

Yeah, we've had two different mages crater in as many weeks. Mages. I'm pretty sure that as a mage, you can slam your face into your keyboard and have better than even odds that you'd hit something that would save you from cratering. They do have the good grace to feel bad about it, but what drives me crazy about Archimonde is that no amount of clutch play from the rest of the raid will save you from one or a few people making mistakes.

Archimonde makes me wonder whether it would be feasible to kill him with only 20 people in the raid. As long as you stack the raid so that you aren't wasting T6 tokens, I bet you could... which is a brutal comment on the encounter's design.

It defenitly is and in the case of a kill we had a few weeks ago, would have been easier. Between 70 and 60%, 4 people died. After those soul charges were over, we had a stable fight till the end.
(worth noting that we've been farming illidan for 4 months and people still manage to get themselves killed on archi)

Reminds me of the warlock I had for the first few trash pulls of Heroic Botanica. They just spammed Seed of Corruption on the same target. Crowd Control? Spams SoC. Single target? Spams SoC. An inspection revealed that not only were they using Soulcloth Gloves, they'd gemmed with int where they actually had gemmed (about 1/3 of the slots were just empty), were using a 1h with no offhand, and hadn't spent all their talent points. I realize that there are different levels of player in this game, but this was pretty amazing to me. What was really disturbing was that they had at least one drop from the final boss of Heroic Underbog and a Violet Signet.

On a normal SL run, there was a Hunter that was totally sucking it up on DPS - autoshots with a few Arcanes thrown in every once in a while.
Our Druid healer, who has a Hunter main nonchalantly says "dude, you're getting beat on damage, try weaving in some Steady Shots."
Big mistake. I watch my party frames in horror as he casts Steady after Steady after Steady, completely clobbering pretty much all of his autoshots and going OOM after each pull. I tell him to stop and go back to what he was doing earlier, but it's too late, he's convinced he's doing better now and just keeps on truckin'.

On my paladin: Spamming your "bubble+cancel" macro as you walk off the Aldor Rise is a bad idea. Popping bubble, mounting and _jumping_ off the Aldor Rise is a bad idea (walking off works fine). Mocking about with "bubble+hs" then jumping off and trying to bubble is also a bad idea.
Heroic SP, mark skull on first pack, step forward, avenger's shield. Avenger's shield? "You must have a shield equipped". Two very long seconds followed, in which I was scrambling to grab mobs, equip a shield and a weapon and bang my head against a wall.
On my mage: First Kael kill, everybody's happily jumping on portals to TB to turn in vials. We get there, get our rings, I equip it. We decide to have a go at Rage Winterchill, a 19 man raid, with 5 or 6 healers. Of course we wiped, so we called it for the night and waited for next week to get more people attuned. Next day, half way through the first bog lord in SSC, I notice I'm a bit low on maximum mana. Buffs? Check. Fully repaired? Check. Weapons reequipped after Kael? Ah. Right.
Back when mana stones were crap, I had a hidden bar with conjuring them, making water/food portals and a lot of other similar out-of-combat stuff. In between pulls. Click on mana stone, yawn sleepily. Loading screen.
On day in MH, I notice that it's rather odd that for the past 3 waves, I had to evocate, pot, use mana stones... the works, even though I didn't have any such problems on previous waves, even with spamming Arcane Explosion most of the time. Quite embarrassing for a mage to ask for a stack of mage food.
As a mage, you can cheat on Supremus and get some DPS in phase 2, knowing you can blink out of volcanoes. That is, until a) he turns around and one shots you (I always thought if you were too close when he started chasing you you got thrown miles away, but, hey), or b) you blink on top of a newly spawned volcano.
Don't ever pay attention to healers asking you to take your AFK off when doing the one-shotting robot trash before Illidari Council.
On Illidan in phase 4, if you see an empty space, make sure the warlock you're sat next to isn't the tank.
With PUGs: Was in a PUG with a mage that did 5 pyroblasts on a boss (on average), about 2-3 fireballs, a lot of scorches and probably fireblasts on CD.

This is from some time ago, when WoW was still new.
I didn't have a lot of time, so I was leveling very slowly with a heal-specced Priest (don't ask me why, I have no idea). I got him all the way to level 48 before I quit (at which point I still didn't have a mount, because of a lack of gold).
Shortly before quitting, I realized I had missed something in the Talent Window:
There was a scroll bar with which you could scroll down and have more talents to choose from!

oh boy
This week in a Kara run with alts, we had 2 very undergeared people healing the whole place, we still did fine until Shade who managed to wipe us twice. Some recent app we brought along then started to talk about a video he has seen of people fighting Shade outside his room, effectively avoiding most of the damage coming from the encounter. We decide to give it a try and a shaman set off his fire elemental to pull shade out of the room.
It surprisingly work. It's extremely retarded as we can only dps shade for 6-7 seconds at a time when he decides to peak at us thro the door. But after 12 minutes of a very boring fight, we down him. We all have a good laugh about it and we proceed to loot. Someone open the door next to the body and.. surprise! Another shade is standing in the room screaming emote at us and a volley of around 20 fireballs and 20 frostbolts promptly fly towards us, killing half of the raid.
Roars of laugher erupts on vent as everyone keep opening the door and the RL start screaming at people to close that stupid door. We had to wait a few minutes for shade to despawn, but we finally got the loot and everything was fine.
-------
Another night in karazhan on alts, we had a resto shammy that recently joined the guild that we brought along to gear him up because we are short on that class/spec. We promptly kill curator and our raid leader tells us not to loot because he has forget to turn on master loot. He then proceed to loot the body and tells everyone to pass, he is gonna call who can loot what after. The Staff of Infinite Mysteries drop, and one of our alt mage really need that staff. After everyone passed, the shaman thought it was a good time to loot his badges while we were sorting out who gets what.
Turns out that auto-loot + not paying attention made him loot pretty much everything from the body. Boy he wasn't popular that night..

Are you sure he didn't just ninja them? Last time I left my auto loot on (2 weeks ago) and I looted Attunmen for my badge I still got the "This will Bind on Pickup" message and was able to cancel looting it and then turn my auto loot off.

Nah he is a good guy, I'm fairly sure he didn't ninja them.
You get the "this item will bind to you" for badges. So he has to click yes anyway for the badges, and since he has auto-loot on, my guess is that it looted everything, including the badges.

The bind on pickup message is the problem. Everyone wants to loot their badges, but when the message shows up, and loot is FFA or everyone has passed, there is no way to know if the message is for the badges or for the boss drops.

In patch 2.4 it will just autoloot the badges for you so you don't have to worry: that "Loot with Bind on Pickup" message will always be for the other items.

Additionally, I believe in 2.4 the confirmation dialog box will state the name of the item. Definitely a great change.

This happened a few months ago when you could intercept/intervene from the floor of Alar's room to the upper levels in one long incredibly fast run. Another warrior is telling me about the new bug so I decide to test it out. The fight is going well and i decide to intercept Alar to see myself run really fast up to the platform. Suddenly Alar is attacking me after I barely touch him, on vent I hear various OH SHITS and FUCKS followed by wow that was fucking pro! Turns out our tank fell off the platform right when I intercepted. I tanked Alar for a few seconds preventing a raid wipe and everyone thinks I did it on purpose.

That reminds me of how our warrior tanks TRIED to do this and failed miserably. For some reason, our warriors would either start trucking and... run right past alar and fall off the platform (Wipe) or start trucking up and just stop short or fall off short of alar (Usually a wipe). It was like somebody strapped rockets onto their boots and they went crazy and just never stopped.
So we found out that you can basically run off when quill starts and run back up and not get hit with Quill. Never mind that you're running through the quill graphic for a solid 2-3 seconds. *Shrug*.

You gotta love those moments. I remember a couple weeks ago we were on Supremus and some people just couldn't seem to avoid dieing. Well, one of our shamans gets focused, and he is saying on vent "OMG guys look how fast he is he can almost catch me running backwards. Oh I'm so scared. No really .. how hard is this?" At which point he got focused for the second time in a row, launched into a wall, then splatted right before he landed.

Back in BWL we were trying to do Vael. Aggro was very sensitive and people we just being morons. I was the RL at the time and decided to institute a new policy for anyone that did something ridiculously stupid.. fish 20 eels. So I announced this to the guild, and we then started to do a night of Vael. People were paying attention. Everything was great.
Well, I was first tank. My job was to live as long as I could through the first BA. BA gave you a ridiculously fast cast time. I went to click a potion from my bars just as I got BA and hit.. hearthstone. LOADING.... I hear my guild dying on vent. "Where did Brood go?"
I pipe up on vent, "Broodthorn has been fined 20 eels for complete stupidity."
