Last night we took a break from sunwell to gear a prot pally for felmyst. Everything was fine until mother, pull one the 3 slowest players get ported right into the raid, 4 healers die, tank leashes her.
Our boomkin went afk. 10 minutes later we decide screw it; we'll just pull without him since he's beyond the leash. So I md mother and lay into her, Somehow, my remarkable damage didn't tip me off, and due to my accursed addiction to deviates didn't realize that I had somehow hit my itemrack macro and taken off all my SR.
When I got ported I instantly died. Whoops.

This is a much more severe problem when the announced afk person is your MT.
Edit: Bad mic's lead to wipes.

On Illidan, I generally use Item Rack to switch from FR weapons to healing weapons after the end of P2. Which means if we wipe after P2, Item Rack switches me to my healing gear. Apparently I noticed this, switched back to my standard tanking set (force of habit), and proceed to buff, get ready, etc. 10% in through P1 I look at my gear, realize it's not nearly as dark red as it should be, open my character screen and my heart sinks as I realize that I've not put on my FR gear. Luckily, thanks to the quick-thinking of a warrior in my guild, I set Item Rack to my FR set, get a soulstone, DI a holy pally, and pop up in my FR gear. We still wiped in P3/4, so ended up being wasted effort, but man did I feel like an idiot.

Awesome tip though. I will be certain to use this in the future. Don't feel stupid though, itis by far better than our FR bear realizing he was wearing his healing gear and a wipe getting called with Illidian at 99%. Though I guess he could have switched to FR gear setting, and I DI'ed him, and it probably would switch the gear as DI faded or was clicked off. Will have to test that.

I don't think the DI part was entirely necessary on my part, was just preferable to standing in a flame( quicker death and no repair bill ). I'm pretty sure that just me dying was enough to get me out of combat for a split second (thank god for item rack there haha), and if I had died in a fire it would have had a similar result. Fire would be more difficult though, because you'd have to wait till the flame patch despawned before using your SS. Could probably get brezed though if you were willing to waste it. I was quite amazed (and relieved) when it worked though.

I think we locked the mage and the hunter (myself) out on PTR this way - we could dps through the barrier just fine

Starting Illidan this week, get to Phase 2 without any problems, one of the Flame tanks is taking a lot of damage. So we healers step it up, keep him up, then after about 15 seconds he goes on vent "Uhh... you guys might wanna kill mine first... I'm not wearing any FR".
I have no idea how we managed to keep him alive up until that point - he ended up dying about 5 seconds later resulting in a wipe.

We've actually 3 manned him with myself as a tank and 2 DPS on normal. Between my [Figurine of the Colossus], a Healthstone, a health pot and some really fast DPS, we managed to kill him before he killed me after I locked out our Druid healer.
Ironically enough, he dropped a [Cloak of Swift Mending], which we happily awarded to the Druid since he "earned" it.

I was doing Alterac Valley the other day, and it was a really close game. The alliance had been beating us back from Stormpike graveyard several times already, so I (on my feral druid) stealthed up there once more in order to try and take it. (I had been planning to go for the Aid station actually - but two hunters with flares were guarding the bridge.) There is a Horde rogue there also. I wait untill the most recent wave of ressed people has rushed passed me, shift to bearform, grab the 4 NPC's and head for the bridge in order to draw the hunters' attention away from the SP flag. Instead of trying to tag the flag, the rogue follows me and starts attacking one of the NPC's... Surprisingly, we failed to cap SP graveyard again.

Oh, once we start talking about Alterac, all bets are off. I thought we were avoiding it to save room
Take for example what happens in a 20v20 Low Road fight. I was on my resto shaman spamming Chain Heal into the ranks, which would have been enough... until their warlocks and a Boomkin show up. And yet, EVERYONE on my side still crowded together, while Hurricane and Seeds were flying. We lost that fight fairly badly.

I am infamous for locking people out of shit; if there's a door, get your butt on the other side of it because Fruit is going to close it.
Late one night, we picked up a 5th dps for a run of regular MgT and I managed to lock not only the new guy out, but our mage as well. I decided to see just how gullible this hunter was:

So I don't know how but as soon as we get him to 50% during a normal MgT run, all 4 other people die rather quickly. Avoid the orbs!! >_<. So anyways, I was the tank and frontloaded all of my threat (And therefore mana) in the first 50% as I don't do much during the last 50%. As a result I was oom. I also did not have any mana pots. I sat there and solo'd him down to 25% which took about 15 minutes. I would judge wisdom and use seal of wisdom to regen mana and FoL myself. Eventually I got bored and just killed myself, much to the delight of the party members that were sitting there dead.
Serves them right in my opinion

You should've told them to release and graveyard zerg him. Kael's gravity lapse will port you to him from anywhere in the instance, including the front door.

In guild chat the other day...
Player X: Huh, DBM just loaded up my "Other" mods out of the blue
Me: that's odd, it's usually reliable
X: And I just went into combat?
Me: World bosss nearby?
X: Can't be, I'm in the Hinterlands farming Mithril, no world bosses out...
X: ...ouch
X: BTW, Lethos is up in the Hinterlands

We were having trouble on Shade in Kara this week, due to stupid people not being able to stand still when we yelled out on chat, "FLAME WREATH, DON'T MOVE!" So yesterday we pulled together our top Kara raiders and went to see how many of the remaining bosses we could get down. We made it to Prince and had a little more trouble than usual. We lost half our DPS to some stupid moves during Enfeeble on the first try, resulting in me taking quad 4.7k hits with a nice stack of sunder armor. We reckon that part of our problem is that we're lacking some DPS due to the presence of two tanks, which we have never done on Prince. I have both of my offspec gear sets in my bag when I raid, so I slapped on my best impersonation of a ret paladin, get Blessing of Might from our holy pally healer, and turn the DPS knob to 11. Third Enfeeble hits, I yell out in raid chat, "Enfeeble!", turn to run, and... I'm stuck. I can't move. I frantically click my middle mouse button, just knowing I'm not going to make it, and as the shadow nova hits me and I fall helplessly to the ground, I notice in my chat window: \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

Yeah, in my first run on normal myself as shadow, the pally healer, and possibly even another person got locked out, and thankfully it occured to me that prayer of healing ignores los and we were fine.

In Heroic BM you can't graveyard zerg it, can you in Magisters? (just curious, don't know if he was talking about Heroic or not)

We had a hunter Feign Death during a Fankriss wipe.
While the rest of us were running back and gathering in Sartura's room, Feign Death expired and aggrod Fankriss.
Of course, he brought every single mob in the tunnel with him as he headed to the main raid.
The first most of us realised what was going on was when the stream of mobs poured out of the tunnel.
Of all the comedy wipes we ever had, this one still stands out as the funniest.

All heroics are like raids, in that you can't zone in while a boss encounter is in progress, preventing GY zerging.
That's a pretty cool idea to try on normal though - unlike most bosses, a healer can survive nearly indefinitely against him, so the other 4 SHOULD be able to run back in, even if the run is a rather long one.

So, we're running ZA. And for Lynx, well, he summons a totem. So, everyone in the raid has a /target corrupted macro.
Before the pull one of our officers goes: "Haha, my /tar macro is now this!" and does one of those ASCII pictures that uses the new raid icons.
And then we all assume he's changed it back to /tar, since he knows he's changed it.
Turns out, as we gather from the 100+ spams of his ascii art in /raid, that we wiped because he did not infact change it back. Failhunter fails.

My guild has serious issues with proper DI use. I've seen druids intentionally DI'd midwipe (druids with no rez up, that is), hunter pets DI'd... my personal favorite is the time we were heading to Shade of Aran and our holy pally suddenly died after announcing a brief afk. "Ker, what happened? Did you fall off the ramp?" *long sigh over Vent* "No, I threw my headset down, hit my DI hotkey, and DI'd the tank."
During a recent Kara pug, I somehow let someone convince me to pull the imps/casters before Shade out into the hallway, on the ramp. I realized I had moved onto the very edge of the ramp while making the pull, and went to strafe out into the middle for safety. I managed to time this perfectly with a lag spike, and strafed myself all the way off the *other* side. Sigh.

While I'd never done that specifically, I have a fun habit of running and jumping off the top of Aldor rise and hitting bubble so I land with no ill repercussions. This works great unless I'm on my laptop, in which case it takes more than 12 seconds to land thanks to terrible framerates. Squish.
