Its nice having 3 mages die consecutivly in Kael P3 to Thaldred The Darkener because they decide to continue nuking and not move when he runs right ontop of them.. more than once...

A paladin of another guild on my server had once the idea to pull Garr with his Divine Shield on. So he ran up to Golemagg and his Divine Shield got dispelled and he died.

We had wiped after magmadar so are running back down the hill.
A hunter who had just joined the raid promptly pulled out his level 37 "Broken Tooth" freshly trained from the badlands. The wall of mobs advancing up Molten Core was actually quite impressive to see.

Probably my favourite was timing the elevator, jumping down so that it would meet me as I fell, hitting Divine Shield about three seconds down...then glitching through the elevator and falling all the way to the bottom.
Usually I just wait for the elevator to start falling, then jump down and hit Divine Shield right before I hit the ground if I want to be cute.

No matter how many times "hug the Lair Brute" is said on vent there are always 2-5 people at max range. It's incredible how often this happens and with the same people, the RL singling them out each time so they know who they are. It is as if they do not have their volume turned on for these particular mobs, but then again it's also mentioned in raid chat.
|
We've completely given up on every single strategy that involves negating a charge through positioning. We can't get everyone to stand closer to a bird than I do, unless I stand eighty yards out (oops I outranged the charge). We can't get everyone to hug a brute. It's a grim, grim tale. Let's not even get into how hard "spread out" seems to be for most.

We only used 2 tanks on Thaddius, unfortunatly neither of them could do the fucking jump. So once every other attempt both of them would fall down and we'd wipe.
Four Horsemen, one of our tanks (Mind you, we used half room rotation 4 on Thane-Mograine, 4 on Zeliek-Blaumeaux). We finally get Mograine down, then Thane. So we start rotating on the other 2 Horses and eventually its our MTs turn to tank Blaumeaux. He run towards here and at 11% he dies to a void zone. "What the fuck just killed me?", "A voidzone! ffs!", "WHAT THE FUCK IS A VOID ZONE?". He never got the end of that abuse.
Four Horsemen again and this time its my fuck up. We pull and I had the habit of having a DPS rotation on all 4 at the same time. We start getting the fight down and I do my usual stuff. Rotate on all 4 horses. Mograine dies, cool. Thane dies, awesome! A bit later we have Zeliek on 9% and Blaumeaux on 10%. I yell on ventrilo (I lead the raids back then) - "NO STUPID SHIT NOW!" and due to my accumulated aggro on them both and the spiraling threat of the warriors (dps warriors... sigh) I pulled aggro from Lady, don't notice and she puts a void zone right in the middle of us. No one dies, but we have to adapt. 10 seconds later (Lady is back in position) I get aggro from a curse of doom that hit right after a mark from Zeliek. He runs over to me (I didn't notice in time, cause I was targetting Lady) and he holy wraths the raid. Funny thing was, I survived and got aggro from Lady again (no idea why, up to this day) and die.
We wiped on 4%.
Anub'Rekhan - MT gets BoP whilst kiting during locust swarm and I get aggro. Needless to say, we wiped.
Heigan - We never were really good at this boss. But this one took the win. We lost our usual 20 people or so on the first dance and proceed to try to salvage it. Next dance, we lose 5 more. 15 people left. Stay calm! Next dance. No deaths. 19%. Next dance, 3 deaths. 11%. Next dance, 2 deaths. 7%. Next dance, our MT shouts - "FUCK MY MOUSE BATTERY RAN OUT" and he used his mouse to turn, mind you. It resulted in a 1% wipe and worst of all, the fight took like 15 minutes in total or so.
Loatheb - Fully raidbuffed, the mandatory Arcane Shot from a hunter while buffing. Man, I never shouted this hard to anyone over a computer game.
Maexxna - Tank not shield walling at enrage during web spray - "I wanted to check it out if I could survive it." He got two shot.
Sapphiron - MT getting killed during airphase at 7%. We hadn't killed him before, mind you. He never got the end of that.
AQ40 - someone running to Ouro instead of C'thun back when there was no portalling yet. Everyone was at C'thun and all of the sudden we see "OURO ENGAGED!". Needless to say, we all got ported one by one and totally obliterated. It appeared after a while that the mage who did it didn't even realise he ran the wrong way.
AQ40 again, someone runs to Vem family instead of Sartura (we had the habit of skipping them until after C'thun, for some reason) and all of the sudden he shouts on Ventrilo - "WTF GUYS I FOUND A NEW BOSS?!". The most weird thing was that he was exalted with the Brood and had cleared all of AQ multiple times. I never did get that.
More AQ40, Twin Emperors - we used warlock tanks and at 11% for some bizarre reason I get Divine Intervention and well, we used curses and dots whilst tanking the Twin, so the warlock on the other side of the room gets aggro from his dots. You can figure out what happened next yourself.
I'm sure there are many others, can't think of anymore atm though D: I do remember on our first MC visit past Shazzrah 4 people fell down the bridge and hugged Golemagg. Who then came to hug us. Also, of course this one - we had a new hunter and wanted to check out if he was retarded or not. So we tell him to pull Geddon. Mind you, he had been in MC before. So he says, incoming! And Shazzrah runs in the room. We ask him, "Why didn't you pull Geddon like we told you to?", "I did, he's right here!". For some fucked up reason, he thought Shazzrah was Geddon. Or so we thought. He didn't lie. Geddon came in running the room 5 seconds later.

I am a Night Elf, and I used to jump a lot. My first night on Lurker taught me to never jump, during a boss fight, ever again. Noob laser 1 Shulsen -1.
I killed about ten new people on the Buru jump once. Someone yelled over vent, "Everyone follow Shulsen!" I would always jump onto solid ground and live.

Prince kill, going beautifully. Then there's a shitty infernal spawn, so I run across the hellfire with ClOS up to try to find a new spot for the tank. Of course, I fail to notice the enfeeble, so with my shitty luck, I take two steps and then splat.
That being said, I learned Dark Glare in 3 attempts against C'thun. Even when we killed him there were 5 or 6 people who still managed to run into it every. single. fucking. attempt.

"Ok guys, I'm going to count to three, and on three we're going to enage the channellers."
Momentary brain freeze where I decide to count down rather than up
"Three"
I felt particularly dumb at that point.
We've had our share of the usual early pulls, people going in the wrong entrance at Kara and aggressive pets. I was always the person killing people with Golemagg's window; it made the tedium of MC more bareable. Our raids for a long time have had a fascination with fighting in tight corridors, and I have no idea why. Especially when it's a fight like Shazzrah, or anything else with an AoE.
I once tried to pull Chrommagus, Flamegor and Ebonroc simultaenously, just to see if it could be done. Turns out you can.

I miss the days when Curse of Doom worked on MC'd players. Especially on the Baroness fight where you probably don't have someone who can decurse. We generally killed the MC'd person on our ZG runs. A few warriors then started blowing Recklessness before opening Hoodoo Piles. Hilarity ensued.

I didn't know it was possible to pull Gothik without damaging him, we had always started the event by fireballing, as well as every movie I saw too; while jumping around happily I got too close to his platform and accidentally aggroed him. I of course died, but the rest of the raid died too; and that encounter doesn't reset when mobs leave the room. They even found the very members of our raid who ran till Maexxna. The wipe took more than 15 minutes, every next guy in the raid was frustrated.
I got kicked from the guild because of this, and invited back shortly after. However, some people thought I did that on purpose; some still do. They will never believe me on that, as I was known to be killing some rogue on every mob I was tanking, any time it's possible.

Best and most expensive wipe ever:
We're all gathered in front of Loatheb, buffed to the teeth. It's been a long night of wipes and we've just returned from getting every possible world buff known to mankind. All 40 of us are gathered in a tight ball in front of the door, and shaking with anticipation. I check, double check, triple check, everyone is ready and Fraps is rolling.
Out comes the DBM bar 5....4....3....2...1...CHARGE! 39 raiders run inside .... and I run out, towards the camera as the door shuts. (was 180degrees turned around and we were too clumped too notice.)
We managed to kill him that night anyways but boy, were my guildies pissed

One especially funny C'thun pull was when our hunter started moving in, then realized that he wasn't mounted and stopped. Half the raid was dead a second later
On Maexxna, recovering from a wipe, a Shaman wanted to be nice to a hunter and rezzed his pet. Since it was still on aggressive and the hunter didn't realize it had been rezzed, it started running toward Maexxna instantly. It actually took us a couple of minutes to realize why she suddenly aggroed.
And then, when we do Vashj, I usually kite the striders. Twice so far I have been receiving a tainted core while kiting. So far not that special, and the first time I simply died. However, the second time the strider was low hp and died before it could hit me. I shouted on TS that someone should take over the next strider, and a mage did. I threw my core to a healer, and went to get aggro from the new strider. The healer then tossed the core to another player - the very mage who was kiting the strider at that time.

Heh. I've got a few awesome ones...
A few people mention "seeing pre-spawn Ragnaros" in the crack behind Golemagg. (I heard a rumor on the grapevine long ago that Golemagg initially was intended to toss random people into the crack as a mechanic of the fight? It is called Golemagg's Furnace, afaik.) I always liked to drop repair bots and then casually say on vent, "You guys know you can sell Blacksmith's Hammers back to the bot for more than they cost to buy, right?"
I have screenshots from two different guilds, each of about a dozen people buying hammers, back when you could see that info in the chat window
When we were learning C'thun, most often it was I who did the actual pulling. I had 315 NR and swiftness pots and could just feign into my normal gear afterward, so I was a natural choice. Well, we pretty much perfected the "Let Rius run in first and everyone run in and spread out after him" method, when Blizzard implemented the raid-wide zone-wide in-combat pulse. Many of you remember this had the unfortunate bug of allowing C'thun to target anyone in the raid for his second beam, usually resulting in a wipe with that pull method. So Blizzard changed C'thun to not fire a green beam for the first 10-12 seconds of the pull, allowing everyone to just charge in like bananas and spread out.
Well, they patched on a Tuesday and didn't say anything about fixing him to where he acted normal again, and we usually cleared AQ40 on Tuesday, and we got all buffed up and nice for C'thun and ran in all at once and got uber-chained =)
As for Vael wipes... back when you only had an hour to kill him, I was one of the last to get rezzed after a wipe, and before I thought to rez my pet... a healer did. Hilarity ensued.

Placing a soulstone dispenser on top of a Mag channeler.
Doggedly following the MT when he changes pull tactics on Hydross and goes frontal/inviso, without noticing the invisibility. Guess who got charged by the boss?

I think this has happened to us about 5-8 times now even though I use invis pots for months now
Some other goodies: BoP while tanking Tidewalker, (happend twice), all those elevator accidents. A priest who forgot to click of his levitating.
Quite a few clothies who either try to walk through me while tanking Coilfang elites or Lurker melee adds. Also very popular: rogues who open up on this add with cheap shot complaining afterwarts that they get aggro
One of our warlock always gets lost in TK when he tries to kite one of those pre KT trash mobs It sometimes takes a minute to get him back to the zerg.
In my old raid we had one CThun wipe happening due to a female warlock running purposely into the room because she had been raidkicked for a a longer afking which she didn't announce beforehands.
The dialogue in the TS2 beforehands was like
RL: what's up with XY?
XY: XY is angry
(XY charges CThun....).
Last week our RL flamed one of our warlock for using the meeting stone instead of porting the person in question himself. This fired back however since we were doing TK (and as most will know, it is impossible to summon someone to Netherstorm via warlock portal.).
Something that is also happening a lot is druid and warlock tanks forgetting to click off salvation...even if they are reminded several times

We use a feral druid as Leotheras tank in human form. When 2 MT healers died to their demons because random heal sucked on this day he decieded to combat ress one of them while Leotheras is still in his demon form, because he was the only one left without timer.
So he switched to caster form, resurrected the priest and then started to shout that he doesn't have enough mana to swap back to bear. He also had no mana pot because he´s feral and has no need for mana pots.
Guess who brings mana pots to every raid now?

During a night of Kel'thuzad tries back when I was in another guild, I hadn't got back in time to make the raid so started drinking, then when I got the call up for the last hour and a half I was pretty much half cut.
So here I go mosey on into Naxx, take all my pots and shit, a nice flawless phase 1 that we'd mastered by now, I think to myself going to need to interupt here so lets move my enemy cast bar to the top of my screen. Consequently I ended up dieing to every fissure that spawned on me that night. Prompting a very angry scream at the end of the night from Wormie the hunter of "FFS CANNINGS"
2 things became a consequence of this, 1 way I never died to fissure again in any attempts or kills, and I never heard the end of it from that guild, my new guild, randoms on the server, and pretty much anyone I run into.
This was also topped off by when one of the members Ork made his kill video, which was muchly watched at the end as the video was signing out you can hear Wormie's voice screaming "FFS CANNINGS",
Oh well live and learn :P
(i'll try find the video at home as I can't find any live links anymore)

Back when the guild was farming Nef, some of the hunters got together and conspired. They all got new pets, named them to the tanks in the raid, kept them hidden during all of BWL, then pulled them out just as Nef started. When the first shadow flame hit, all the pets died and oh the chorus from CTRA as it announced the death of all our tanks. Hilarity ensued.
