So, we're going up against Kaz'rogal, and one of our Prot paladins is taking up the task of keeping Wisdom Judged on him. The main tank takes a sudden spike of damage down to 10% of his life, so what does said paladin do? You guessed it, he hits Lay On Hands. Cue a Mark of Kaz'Rogal with an empty mana pool sitting in melee, cue a lot of VERY dead melee.
We missed that attempt by 7%.

Last time that we were in Hyjal, I looted my badges and headed for the Horde camp as soon as Winterchill was dead. They started the event before I remembered that there are two bosses in the Human camp of Hyjal.

Pardon the noob question, but I'm only a T4 raider... Aside from the obvious of not having a useful trinket on, is there a particular disadvantage to having a riding crop? Do you need your PvP trinket instead or something? or it just the usual general dumbassery?

Its common sense to have a +dmg/ap/heals trinket equipped over a Riding Crop for fights. No offense.

He did say 'aside from the obvious'.
Our affliction warlock missed an Illidan kill recently, leaving just the two destruction warlocks. After one of them pointed out he had Nether Protection, the other warlock offered to tank Illidan for us. We discovered he also had Nether Protection when phase 4 began.

That happened for us as well. Phase 4, was going really smoothly until Illidan suddenly turned to our resident aggro pulling Shadowpriest and instagibbed him. None of us were surprised because he always pulls aggro but our raid leader had enough and kicked him from the raid immediately. The Spriest just shrugged it off and logged off, leaving our RL fuming and swearing never to bring him to raid again, having enough of his cant-care-less attitude.
Next attempt, same thing happened, except it turned to our mage guild leader, who was adamant he was way way below the warlock on Omen. Furious at wiping on farm content, our RL kept on abusing the ranged dps for dpsing during Demon Phase. A few mins later, the warlock spoke up.
"Erm, Nightblade, i think i forgot i had Nether Protection still."
There was an awkward silence before everyone burst out laughing. Our RL was speechless.

One of our enhancement Shaman regularly threat-caps, so (Engineer that he is) he equips a [Nigh-Invulnerability Belt] in a raid just in case he does it again. To his credit, he was more than capable of pulling threat even without an effective belt slot. The following occurred on a the hunter add in the Karathress fight.
Enough lack of caution to pull aggro anyway? Check
Fel Strength up? Check
Shamanistic Rage already on cooldown? Check
Beast Within going off just as he pulls aggro? Check
Getting the malfunction on his shiny new belt that was SUPPOSED to save his life? Priceless.

I'm gearing up my paladin alt on the opposite side of the same server, while my main is on alliance side, horde population on Aerie Peak EU is in minority and consists either of very skilled elite groups of players or absolutely "unguilded" characters. And believe me, PuG's are very scary. So I gained a habit to double-check if group members actually know what to do.
Oh well Mechano-lord, heroic mechanar:
Me: Mate are you familiar with stairs method of doing this boss?
Tank: Yes, did that dozen times before.
-Ok, good, ready.
*Tank pulls him to the stairs but keeps tanking him on the floor where big pack on Tinkerers was standing*
*pause*
Tank: /rw Come down, noobs, why you standing up there?!
*rogues from same guild as tank jumping down to melee and dying almost instantly due to opposite charge with tank*
That's it.

I took a short break from tanking Karazhan last night, and ran part of the night as holy and part of the night as ret (the raid composition changed midway through). And I managed to mess things up pretty neatly in BOTH specs. When we do Moroes, we have the healers stand toward the front of the room, near the stairs, while the tanks stand on the main dinner table close to the door and the ranged DPS stand against the side wall. Cue a dumb little holy pally stepping a little too close to the stairs and facepulling Moroes. Oops.
Immediately after that, I swapped in another holy paladin to take my place for Maiden and Opera, but the raid called me back to fill in for some DPS that were leaving, so I respecced and threw on my ret gear and waded into the fight. We get to Maiden, I give the tank some time to get aggro, then I pop cooldowns and open a serious can of whoopass on her - for about 30 seconds, until I eat a Holy Wrath that hit me for 7.5k. Ouch.

Pulling Archimonde, I run by him casting a curse as I always do... and he turns to me and smacks my face for 15k. 5 seconds later I remembered there were no hunters in that particular raid.

Heroic Magister's on some alts last night, our Hunter starts charging his Aimed Shot on Kael
and fires it
and then eats two fireballs in the face and dies...
...because he hadn't put up Misdirection before firing off his Aimed/Distracting/Arcane combo.
The whole run was pretty much a disaster, and you could definitely argue that running H MgT with an undergeared Prot Paladin as the tank and Rogue, Feral Druid, and undergeared Hunter as DPS qualifies itself as a "stupid thing people do."

I somehow got stuck on autorun as I was moving Hydross from nature to frost(only noticed as I reached the control panel). While the consequences wheren't all that bad(offtank just took him til adds where down on nature again, then ran him back) I still get to hear it fairly often. Must be many months ago now.
Died from fishies as I got back onto one of the pillars. >.<

My crowning achievement has to be a good few months back in Karazhan with my old guild. Had swapped to my alt warlock for the Moroes fight. We were standing around waiting for the pull, I decide to put on my Electromagnetic Gigaflux Reactivator and activate it while standing on the dining table. Watched the lightning bolt fly across the room straight into Moroes and pulling the entire group while the raid was still buffing and half AFK, going 'Uhm... guys...' over Vent. Fastest wipe ever.
Something else quite memorable, our guild MT using Intercept to engage Vashj. Unfortunately his Itemrack caused him to unequip his shield while he was in zerk stance, causing him to get 2-shotted as he reached her. I have since made sure to always Intercept him right after the pull to try and re-direct some of the initial damage as the raid moves into position.
Number one stupid thing I have ever seen was during a heroic run ages back, think it was Sethekk. My old guild had a tradition to teabag people that died on pulls (see Ctrl+Alt+Del). Our resident rogue pulls aggro and gets his face smeared into the ground. Group laughs it off over Vent when our GM/MT yells 'COMBAT TEABAG' and proceeds to sit on the corpse of the unfortunate rogue, whereupon he himself gets crit numerous times by the multiple mobs he was tanking and quickly dies himself. We had the group nearly down and managed to survive without a tank, but the warrior never heard the end of that one.

One of my recent stupid things was my usual flight off the aldor platform, divebombing towards the ground. On the way down there was a nagging voice at the back of my head telling me that there was something not quite right.
Turns out it is important to distinguish between a bear and a netherdrake.

While on my hunter, we're setting up for Maulgar and I'm chatting with our main tank. I think the conversation is over and get ready by typing "/y Misdirect is Up, Go Go GO!" so our mage can start the fight. I just don't hit enter yet because not everyone is ready, and I haven't Misdirected.
2 minutes go by, and I get another tell from the tank. I hit enter to reply. Mages begins the fight. I feign death. Everyone else dies.
I made a macro after that. Much safer that way.
