Heh, not entirely a "stupid" thing but it is a rather amusing turn of events.

Did Kara last night with 2 priests healing. One mage had to go afk, and was standing outside the door to Maiden's hallway. Not sure how long he'll be, figure we'll just 9-man it. Going fine until one of our two healers crashes 30 seconds in. People start dying, melee catch a bad Holy Wrath, and Maiden's at 1%. We figure it's a wipe as the last person dies.

Then, she turns and high-tails it to the mage at the end of the hall that had previously gone AFK. And the dots left on her as we died finished her off about three steps from him. Of course, he comes back a minute later and says on vent: "I'm guessing something went horribly wrong, becuase there's a dead woman on me."

This story is somewhat of a combination of stupid and incredibly frustrating beyond belief, and it's pretty long.

Heroic Magister's Terrace was the daily a few days ago, and since the tanking trinket had yet to drop for me and I was in need of badges, I look for a group to do a quick run with. Eventually I'm set with a tree healer, rogue, enhancement shaman, and mage. I can already tell from the second boss that this run will not be smooth, our DPS is bad in the sense of skill and just overall likeability. We wiped multiple times, mostly due to the shaman for whatever reason "accidently" killing the adds the mage was supposed to be knocking out. After a lot of sloppy attempts, he dies, and we move on.

Trash goes fine, 3rd boss gets 1 shotted. Getting to kael, I figure it's gonna be a little sloppy since we have 1 ranged, leaving the shaman up to help kite/kill the bird with the mage. This goes bad, a lot, usually leading me to getting insta gibbed by a pyroblast that goes uninterrupted or simply isn't DPSed fast enough. Wipe after wipe happens, I boot the mage for doing awful dps, then boot the rogue for the same reason, replacing both. Still seemingly stuck at this slow DPS block, the shaman says he is leaving, tired of repair bills as his excuse. I replace him easily and we keep attempting and wiping.

As these attempts are going on, the shaman sends me a tell telling me to leave the instance that he has a group that's gonna kill Kael, to which I promptly reply "Go to hell" due to a mix of frustration and anger. Eventually I'm forced to replace one of the replacements (meanwhile me and the original healer are both banging our heads against the walls) and it finally looks like we will have ideal DPS to get this done (lock, mage, moonkin). We summon the moonkin to Kael's room, only to find out the instance is full. Huh? Then the lovable shaman runs into kael's room yelling in some sort of mish mash typing that you see in a bad parody of a 12 year old on the internet about how I'm a bad man and he will only leave after I apologize 3 times. Figuring I finally have a good reason to have some GM take action, I put in a ticket to get this guy removed (even after I apologized for whatever I did, he stayed, ignoring protests from the rest of the party). An hour later, yes an hour of sitting in MgT doing nothing, a GM gets back to me and basically tells me he can't do a thing to remove the shaman unless he trains mobs on us or something of the like.

Determined to kill Kael and hysterical from sleep deprevation (it's 3:30am) and anger, I'm resorting to anything to get this guy out of the instance, even jokingly telling a guildy to message the guy saying he needs "pro enh dps for heroics."

/facepalm
That works. The shaman leaves, we summon the moonkin, we kill Kael, I sleep like a baby promising never to return to that damned instance. Oh, and my trinket did drop.

Last night in my guilds Kara badge run. Our main healer had just gotten the Voodoo Trinket from ZA that summons 3 voodoo gnomes. Well, he wanted to test it out and used it on one of the big armored guys leading up to Opera. Unfortunately, we didn't clear the group of 4-5 elite ghosts, and as we downed the last armored guy, they ran up to the group hit one and promptly despawned, causing a surprising wipe.

Man, back when heroics were serious business (like two weeks after TBC was released) we had some pretty epic fights over instances with people. Heroics used to be super hard so it wasn't exactly uncommon to get to the final boss and just not be able to kill them. I can remember waiting for hours on end with people running in and out of the instance in case people holding our instance hostage would DC or something. Good times. After a few of these events, I started becoming a lot more selective on who I do instances with. Although nowadays if we wipe a few times I just leave and forget about it.

I believe in Harvey Dent.
