Wrath of Lich King Stuff (was 'Blizzcon' thread)
And iPhone cameras have been unleashed.
Rumors are true on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
-- Arthas getting off his butt and wanting to kill everyone.
-- Northrend added.
-- Death Knight Class. (doesn't say if hero or not)
-- Level cap raise to 80.
-- New battleground/PvP "stuffs."
-- "Expanded character customization options."
Looks like the German leak was mostly, if not totally, accurate.
Beefnote for the thread:
OKAY HERE ARE SOME GROUND RULES
You can speculate on what you think would be cool or interesting. You can speculate on how you think things may interact with each other in some way.
You may post information and screenshots, please do lots of this
You can NOT however:
Speculate on how things will be overpowered or unbalanced, how things that are introduced in the expansion will make you, your profession, your class, your favorite ability or your dog "useless".
Cry about how a new expansion makes your current playing a "waste of time"
Derail this into yet another discussion about how certain things will be only accessible to a certain percentage of the population, go on about casual/hardcore
Whine

Yep, new BG/pvp stuffs are "siege warfare and destructible buildings" in that photo, along with a new BG. Looks like that leaked QA was word for word correct. I'd be very surprised if they didn't have more information ready by now, though... the vague handwaving over "unlocking" the deathknight will probably cause a small riot if there isn't more to know.
Here's the sidebar text:
Some of the highlights you will learn more about at BlizzCon:- The dark, necromantic Death Knight - the first new character class added to World of Warcraft since launch.
- Northrend, the harsh, icy continent where the Lich King holds sway - complete with new zones, quests, items, and monsters.
- New level cap of 80 - including access to mighty new powers and talents.
- New Battlegrounds: featuring siege warfare and destructible buildings.
- Expanding character customization options, including new hairstyles and dances, the ability to change the hairstyles of existing characters, and new skin color variants.

*sigh* I just hope this class will be available to everyone, not certain classes/races. However, can you imagine Tauren Druid to be a Death Knight, for example? Hm hm...

Done.
I don't expect that link to last long at all, though.
It's a booklet two page, right page being new Arthas art, left side detailing "World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King" with the usual "this bad guy going to destroy world" motivation blurb, and a blue sidebar discussing features of the pack.

If you've read the leaked preview before, you'd note that the Death Knight does not replace your existing character. What I'm guessing will be the case is that you need to have done a quest line on one of your characters, and it then adds Death Knight as a class available to the races it's supposed to be available to on the character creation screen. This way you don't limit people of certain races/classes from accessing the class, while still limiting the races available to the class.
That is, of course, assuming the rumors about how the class becomes available were true as well.

Ok, what I can read from that pic, the sidebar:
Some of the highlights you will learn more about at Blizcon:
+ The dark necromantic Death Knight - the first new character class added to World of Warcraft since its launch.
+ Northrend, the harsh icy continent(?) where the Lich King holds sway(?) - complete with new zones, quests, items, and monsters
+ New level cap of 80... (?????) to mighty new powers and (????)
+ New Battlegrounds including siege warfare and destructible buildings.
+ Expanding character customization options, including new hairstyles and dances, the ability to change the hairstyles of existing characters, and new color variants(?)

apologies for anything I got wrong, it's a bit hard to read.

Is it me or does this sound like a whole new class selection that you unlock, as opposed to something you do to your own character?
New level cap of 80, including access to mighty new powers and talents.
50 point talent trees?
New battlegrounds including siege warfare and destructible buildings.
New character customization options including hairstyles and dances, the ability to change hairstyles of existing characters, and new skin color variants.
New dances? I'm definately buying it.

The fact that nothing that was said in the QA segment on the german website has been refuted by the new reliable information makes me very, very afraid that it might just be true.
But even if it is I really hope that they have some very clever idea to avoid an SWG scenario, I cant possibly see them being that dumb.

Wonder what they'll do to talent trees with 10 more levels to gain, expanding further on the existing ones indefinitely for each expansion sounds like a pain in the butt to balance.

Hmm, if it is an "unlock DKs for your account!" thing then it sure would be nice if they would add one more character slot per server. I'm personally capped unless I want to delete an alt and as most of them are 60+, I would really rather not.
The expansion is obviously still quite a ways out though so I'm not going to get terribly worried about it yet. There is certainly no guarantee I'll even be around by then.

Hey now, the Mohawk had feathered head dresses too! I don't think they spent quite as much time smoking peace pipes though, that area was pretty contested.

The other text on the picture is flavor, but still interesting, I'll write it down line for line since it's partially cut off (Edit: changed to just normal text since this is a pain in the butt to read); stuff marked in parentheses are my guesses to the text there, which is cut off on the picture.
After the opening of the Dark Portal, and the renewed war to (battle the) Burning Crusade's destruction of worlds, the heroes (of Azeroth) have given little thought of the frozen wastes of (Northrend)-- and the terrible, ancient powers that walk there. (The) brooding evils of the fallen Nerubian Empire and their (??) sovereign have not forgotten Azeroth.
The former death knight and now Lich King Arthas has set in motion events that could lead to the extermination of all life in Azeroth as his undead armies and the necromantic powers of the plague threaten to sweep across the land. Only the mightiest heroes can survive the frozen (wastelands) with any hope of disrupting (the plans of) Arthas-- and perhaps (come face-to-face with) the Lich King himself (??) for all time.

This is interesting. Greater character customization, much "heavier" PvP and what's pretty much a complete game balance revamp in adding a new class (along with this being Northrend and big bad Arthas himself) seems like Blizzard decided they had to do something drastic to fend off the coming rival MMO's. They really dropped their biggest "gun" here, as Arthas is certainly more iconic than South Seas.
Big casino, but that really is a ton of new content to throw at people. Revamped PvP and an entire new class, along with more personal avatars and the normal new goodies? Hell yes.
This actually looks quite a bit larger than Burning Crusade in that regard.
I may reup just to buy this once it comes out (and once I'm not drowning in the first year of law school).

Oh well, here's to hoping they enlarge raids to 30 then so we can get an even 3 of every class spread.
