Well, the Karazhan key quest was more of an excuse to make people visit certain dungeons, really. Khadgar hid the other parts of the key where he thought it would be safe but those areas are not safe anymore. Lorewise, there wasn't really anything that tied the keys to where they were found. They could have easily had Khadgar hide those keys anywhere lorewise. In fact, the most reasonable keying process lorewise is the Mt. Hyjal one.

As for the attunement and keys, who here actually thought the Karazhan key quest was anything more then a couple hour annoyance?
|
I was wondering the same. This line is just a pain in the ass that makes me do some easy but out-of-the-way quests and then some normal 5mans. Doing those 5mans is a piece of cake but finding people who want to go there is another story, especially if you're non-mage dps (water and poly being the kings of 5mans). It's not like doing these 5mans prepares you for Karazhan in any way. I guess I'm drifting OT but still. I just don't get what Jeff K sees in these attunements.
Also, doesn't it strike anyone else as really off that you have to level to 80 and do a questline just so you can start over again as the class that you want to play (presuming you want a DK main)? I realise it's being called a "Hero Class" but if you're not progressing your old character it's just the tenth class, with "Hero" stuck in front of it to keep it in touch with old promises.

Not sure which round they're on but the video stream is working it's way up to starting their coverage.

Yeah, i am watching that, but Log vs Nashawan should be a round 2 matchup, according to BlizzCon - Contest Information . Only that no one botheres to update that page apparently.
Of course maybe both Koreans teams could not make it and that is actually a round 1 matchup. :P

Eh, it gives the quest a more epic feel, the problem is they overdid it a bit with the TK/SSC ones and though more advanced guilds had a pretty easy time with it, people rerolling or with less play time didn't.
I don't know about the general consensus, but having a long quest chain that ends with a meeting with a major lore character is pretty satisfying to my nerdy side. However, it's not that long to where you can't complete it in an afternoon with the help of a few guildies.

Yeah it does. Not really sure if I would prefer leveling 1-80, but it certainly seems off.

While the knowledge of Naxx 2.0 sounds cool, the fact it will drop equal loot to T6~, yet they will want alot of people to play it.... will it demean BT?
Will it be the catch-up of TBC like 2.0 was in terms on HWL/GM items in WoW?
And considering how everything is now min-maxed, how can they itemize a new dungeon on par with 2 other dungeons on the same level? will they use it as an 'easy' way to get out of fixing the poorly designed items in Hyjal & BT?
For example as a healer there are quite a few items with Sta, Int, & high amounts of Spi & Healing, quite poor in comparison to items in SSC/TK, however a T6 level item in that slot which has lower Spi and Healing but includes a nice chunk of MP5 will be clearly superior.

I really hope they go through with the starting at 60 (or 70!) thing, I absolutely hate leveling but absolutely love playing different classes

To reiterate someone else's post, you can hear the R&D panel on http://wcradio.com/ streaming. They're doing the Q&A section now so probably almost over.

The more I think about it the more I don't like the implementation of 1 hero class. It ruins immersion to be a Druid and reach goals to play a character class that has nothing to do with Druids and to acknowledge the outside world of creating a character. It is just odd.
Also, not starting at level one is just going to create a slew of, what will become, premade mentality DKs running around. It isn't like anything that does not require raiding to achieve will not have everyone and their dog having one.
I would rather do a quest and reach requirements to make any class I choose to reroll start at level 60 or 70 or whatever the DK is going to start at, then I can go and make my restoration and balance Druid and really enjoy them or make a rogue or mage and start them at level 60 or 70 and have a grinding toon since I have put in 3 years on this one.

1-70 faster?
I'll take a flightpoint in Raven Hill and one in the northern half of STV.
So, some sort of XP sharing to your alts, or just an arbitrary +% to XP gains?
Interesting...

They just confirmed they are making a 25 man raid dungeon pre-expansion with 6 bosses. They also confirmed it will have "better gear than Black Temple".

Kil'Jaden, and then off to Northrend to finish Arthas, or hopefully save him instead of doing Kil'jadens bidding.

Uh oh there's the ret pally question. They said a partial solution for less used specs such as moonkin and ret pally is they will be adding a lot more heroic badge type loot for Zul'Aman.

They basically went as far as confirming that the raid zone will have something to do with the Sunwell I think? Did I hear that right?

Well from the information given, Dragonblight is the place where dragons come to die. Now what if there's an Emissary from his undeadness himself offering eternal live and nice trinkets and some heroes every now and then for the bargain price of just a millenium of service for Arthas ?
Just one idea of how the dragons could possibly be a problem there. There's still always Deathwing around, too.
EDIT: Damn this thread moves too fast. Am replying to something on page 11 I believe.

By creating more tokenized loot they can create more loot for the niche armor categories (spell damage leather, spell damage/str plate).

Perhaps its a token system you collect from ZA bosses to get the loot no one wants to see dropping in the actual raid zone.
