Classic content could be revisted at 70, or even 80 with a few chnages. Makes them 25-man raids and drop vortices, recipes, gems, badges and rather than loot, have the bosses drop large amounts of gold. Spend 3 hours a week in Naxx 2.0 and get enough gold to finance your week's worth of raids and it might be worth it for some people and not worth it for others.

I'd say that to really "experience" an instance you need to complete it as the designers intented, at the right level with the right gear, not bruteforcing your way through it with sheer numbers. Doing that you might as well watch a few videos.
I honestly don't think they'll ever revisit/retune old raid content or slow down with the level increase, casual raiders are just screwed in that regard.
Although we are getting quite off topic...
It's not about the "real" experience. but that's always diffrent, depending on buffs and nerfs. It is giving a large playerbase the feeling of completing certain content, which is really satisfying and also to show the Big Bosses to everyone.
Why putting so much effort in an encounter like Illidan if most people will never ever even start to fight against him ?
Even with 70 you just can't walk through Naxxramas and kill of every boss on the first try. Patchwerk of course is easy, but some encounters take as much coordination as Maulgar. Gluth or C'Thun are good examples.
Also Blizzard stated at some time, that Kel'thuzad would be beaten by most guilds with 70.
If only the loot of the first 10-man and the heroics will be better than T6, there would be a reason to go there. Combined with a nice quest, perhabs getting some reputation or a nice epic reward would help.

Not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere, but is there going to be anywhere do download a video o all the panels, since the stream hasn't exactly been the best place to watch them.
...but some encounters take as much coordination as Maulgar
I'm sorry. What? As much states that Maulgar would certainly take more coordination than the fights in Naxx. Yea, at 70 they would be easier for sure, but require less coordination? I think not.
Of course Kelthuzad would have been killed by most guilds at 70, the majority of the fight is level 60-63 mobs.
Cladnin, many of the bosses in Naxx still have attacks that do percentage based damage, which makes them still somewhat difficult at 70. If you search for the Naxx at 70 thread you'll find a lot of data on that. People did not just return to naxx and breeze through it, many of the fights still take a lot of coordination.
For evidence of this, I tried to take a group into AQ40 and wiped 5 times to Skeram because people couldn't understand that they needed to not stand by Skeram and kill the copies.
And as a total aside, the majority of the posts in this thread belong on the WoW forum and not on EJ.

You pretty much ignored every point I stated, but ok. Pretty sure Kel'thuzad is the only boss with a % based attack that matters? My post points out exactly that many Naxx bosses are certainly harder than Maulgar, that's laughable.
I very much hope that they are going to raise the raid size cap now that they're introducing this extra class. There's little enough room for some classes as it is, without having to squeeze an extra class in. We already have people drifting away from the game because they don't get to raid often, so not doing this will almost certainly lose blizzard subscribers, hopefully they'll pay more attention to that fact than the fact that cause friends not to be able to play together.
On a more personal note , as a tank .... Deathknight .. Tanking and dps at the same time seems to be the declared roll of this new class. So where does that fit in, and where does it leave the other classes that have those rolls, I really can't visualise exactly where they're going to fit in without leaving someone out in the cold if they are worth having along to perform that roll.
Let's try and get this back on track. While I'm not a Paladin, my good friend is, do we have anymore leads about the Ret changes? The Enhancement Changes are amazing (at least in my opinion) for Raiding, although it does nothing for PvP which is a bit of a shame. Something similar for Ret would be nice.
Also, re: DK, reading that Blog entry about making a choice, obviously it could have just been poorly worded, but could that mean another Aldor/Scryer type decision with the obligatory "Jimmy-PartII" video that would accompany it?

Current info leaks came from someone not digging very well. There's some cameraphone shots of the changes, but there's some issue about possible keyloggers so I won't post them.
Shortlist of what was spotted:
Cstrike dropped to 6sec cooldown. Mana cost apparently increased by 20% or so.
Vengeance lasts 30sec, not 15. Still stacks exactly the same.
Sanctified Crusader utility rolled into Improved Seal of the Crusader talent. Sanctified Crusader is now Sanctified Seals, the guy who took shots didn't even mouse over it however and has no idea what it does.
Vindication now affects ALL stats, including stamina intellect and spirit.
No info on other talent changes, which isn't to say there aren't any. The guy taking the camphone shots was a bit of a goddamn mouthbreather, it seems. There are significant changes, however. Hopefully someone tomorrow will have the sense to go through Paladin talent trees in some detail without being retarded.

I was watching the stream at the time. Metzen was really blatantly pulling things out his ass as he talked. Basically; "We have no consensus idea on how to really justify player Deathknights yet, so push off so I can talk about all this cool shit which I will now ramble on about."
The whole thing about Deathknight School garnered some serious lols from the IRC crowd.
I'd like to see those changes, I figured they wouldn't admit they made a poor arena design and remove los obstacles. Would be nice if they removed arm time on traps, making freeze more of an on demand cc rather than hope they don't run away/blow scatter to trap cc. There is an endless list of possible improvements but more to the point, anyone have more specifics on hunter pvp changes?
You must be new to this game and don't know that hunters used to not be able to cast traps in combat. THAT was bad. FD traps weren't a strategy for surprise, they were the only way to get one on the ground if being chased.
LOS in arenas is strategy. As a healer and a hunter it gets in the way, but it also can be used to your advantage. Losing because of it sucks but that's the trick of arenas...just like warlocks

It was a question of how the abilities of the fight are handled. I did not know the answer so I come to the place where I expect to see well formulated, concise and correct answers. Not snotty comments. - eclectic778
Vent is only necessary because of bad players. - ebbv

In my opinion they should've taken this in the other direction and made it a Paladin Demo Shout, but then again in PvP that makes Vindication an instant 1000-1500 damage attack that lowers their HP. That's pretty goddamn significant for arenas.
Does anyone know if there are recordings of the Livestreams available anywhere? If anyone can get me the last 10-15 minutes of the Day 2 Class Discussion panel, I will be DEEPLY in their debt.
Watching the arena matches would also be fun, but I would go to great lengths to acquire a recording of those minutes.

Metzen gets a pass because when he talks he's down to earth, funny, and just all around kicks ass. :p
He's also kinda built, unexpected for a guy who writes fantasy lore!
BTW: on the topic of the streaming, GIGA is really making some odd production decisions here. They keep interrupting the really interesting full orchestral production of music from the various blizzard games to listen to Mark Hoffman prattle on unpleasantly about the arena tournament. On top of barely speaking english, he's really quite creepy every time they have him commenting with the girl and he apparently simply doesn't know anything -at all- about the game. Apparently he played to level 47 and quit when he couldn't afford a mount.
The general IRC consensus is that, maybe, if we concentrate hard enough, we can kill with our minds and get back to the orchestral music.
Edit: they've gone back to the orchestral music. But now they have the sound turned off.
<Anias> Sapp: Giga wanted their broadcast of music to be on the same level of quality as their broadcast of competition.
I must be looking at different screenshots, because those changes look pretty substantial to me for a raiding Enhancement Shaman. Fully raid buffed, 30% extra damage is huge. Also, EVERY shock is going 60% cheaper (plus the 6% cheaper anyways) due to the fact that it's likely they'll have one melee crit every five seconds. So you have a permanent AP * 30% increase in Spell Damage (min 700 in a raid), you have pretty much static 66% reduction in Shock cost (assuming those percentages are addatitve). WFT already brings at least +200 DPS to Rogues and Warriors in the same group, I can't see how anyone can think this is anything less than amazing for a Raiding Enhancement Shaman.
Also, someone mentioned needing to drop Resto for Elemental for secondary talents, did I miss something? All the new screens show the talents being in the Enhancement Tree.
the extra utility we'll gain through decreased mana costs is nice, for sure, and the ability to spot heal better is very welcome. The extra damage is most likely meaningless though. Our GCDs are already 1/2 gone through GoA/WF twisting + SS = 4.5 out of every 10 seconds.
This isn't a complaint, just a comment about it not being as great as it looks at first blush. We've already run a simulator with the new talent giving 30% of ap to spell damage, and seen that this does nothing for our dps - we're better off still using slow/slow weapons with Windfury on each. If we do use a shock in our rotation, a raiding shaman will gain a little less than 20dps from the new talent.
That's how I see it as "less than amazing for a Raiding Enhancement Shaman". The place that this helps out Enhancement Shaman, all other things remaining equal, is in PvP where burst damage and mana conservation is necessary.

You do realize it was possible to feign death and place a trap while fighting someone right? Combat trapping is nothing new, now I don't have to hit 2 buttons and I can't trap 15 sec later if I get ooc. I liked traps when I could place them instantly, no Cloaking out of them or dancing around them.

Sorry if anyone eles posted, I didn't see any....but is anyone else highly disappointed that Arthas is now a different actor? They pulled the switcheroo with Illidan when TBC came out, and they really don't help the already tenuous connection of the WoW character and the WC3 character. At least the new Illidan actor sounded very similar; the new Arthas doesn't sound remotely like the same person.
It's even more disappointing considering the original actor provided the voice for the soundclip before Kel'Thuzad in Naxxramas. He sounded far more badass there than in the WotLK trailer.

Does your voice now sound the same as it did 4 years ago? 10, 15? Probably not. And not to mention almost all bosses we've faced have gone mad/insane, and have you ever met someone in real life that has gone crazy? Yea, they don't sound like they used to. It's a depleting hope to wish all voices never change through time/mental conditions, but it doesn't happen.
But it's a video game. If, for example, Uther had a completely different voice in The Frozen Throne than the one he had in Reign of Chaos, it would be pretty jarring and make the character a bit hollow. Don't see how Arthas going 'more insane' would change his voice entirely between Naxxramas and Northrend.
Neither do I, but it's the only legitimate reason besides not hiring the same voice actors OR the effects used on the voice. But since Blizzard is trying to advance the game, that could be why they chose different people.
