Mages just have too many uncommonly used, situational spells that aren't useless so I still need to keep them on my spellbars. I think I probably have to rearrange my bars and remove spells I'm not specced into that would be highly situational.

My shaman has for any given spec 3 and a half action bars all hotkeyed, I'm definitely not looking forward to having 3 or 4 new moves in that respect. Really not sure where I'm going to fit lava lash, spirit wolf, hex and lava burst, probably means moving less used but situationally important moves somewhere inconvinient.

I'm just hoping they move all hunter aspects to the class bar (a la Aspected Again) to free up the 8 buttons they otherwise take up. This would move the pet bar to the middle, but that's something any hunter who uses Aspected Again is used to already. Failing this, just hoping the mod works with version 3.0 as currently it doesn't work on the PTR, only moving the pet bar to the middle, and not showing the class bar.:<

Don't forget that its the same class that has the most powerful counter measure too: Abolish Disease.
|
Abolish Disease is not the msot powerful counter measure. Unless it got changed in the beta it ticks once every 5 seconds (as opposed to Abolish Poison's once every 2 seconds).
Disease Cleansing Totem is as good if not better by virtue of being AoE and 1 second GCD (you can argue killing totems vs. dispel/purge/spellsteal/devour magic/shield slam if you really want to I guess, but ignoring that for now).

I'm not sure if anyone noticed but they changed the Drums of Battle so they no longer cause a debuff that prevents you chain casting them, but they diminish in power past level 70, I wonder if they changed it so that guilds could still have drum rotations in patch 3.0.2?

While I'd fork over the extra cash for one CE version, I won't if a $15 surcharge to gamestop is required. Blizzard's already doing them a favor anyway by not having it available for download on a torrent as others have suggested. We have no choice but to go to retail outlets.
|
Well, FWIW I just got this in my email in regards to the "handling fee":
Dear Customer,
Good news! We received updated information on the size and weight of the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King Collector’s Edition, which has enabled us to reduce the extra handling fee from $14.99 to $4.99. Your order will be credited for the difference before it is shipped and billed.
Thank you for being a GameStop customer!
Sincerely,

According to MMO-Champion, the latest build has mounts with passengers... what?
|
Summon Grand Ice Mammoth - Summons and dismisses a rideable Grand Ice Mammoth. This is a very fast mount that can carry 3 passengers.
|
I know the servers aren't up, but when they are I would like to hear from people in Beta: What does this mean, how does it work, and is it worth anything? Are these fighting platforms or only viewing ones like normal mounts? Can you now run lowbie alts around in style? I'm going to just assume for now that there's a grouping requirement, and that they're epic-groundmount speed.

Well, looks like they sort of listen to us priests about dispersion:
Dispersion - Instant, 3 min cooldown.
You disperse into pure shadow energy, reducing all damage taken by 90%. You are unable to attack or cast spells, but you regenerate 6% mana every 1 sec for 6 secs. Dispersion can be cast while stunned, feared, or silenced. If Dispersion runs its full duration, and you are not the victim of any damage or harmful effects during its duration, your spells gain 25% damage for 1 min.
So.. 25% extra damage for 33% of the time (roughly.. more than that in actuality if the fight lasts anything other than just shy of a multiple of 3 minutes, but I digress). Seems worthwhile to actually grab now, assuming you can avoid damage in a PvE setting for the extra damage, and it can actually be cast while stunned, so popping it during a 6s KS effectively negates the 6s silence built in.
I suppose, for PvE anyway, the question becomes: do you sacrifice 6 seconds worth of attacking for 25% damage for a minute? I guess depending on the encounter YMMV (Heigan comes to mind as being made for this talent - throw up your dots before the dance, pop dispersion when roughly 6 secs of the dance is left, and enjoy your extra DPS). Time will tell if it ends up actually being used.

There was a lot of talk about this during the pre-Beta WOTLK discussions (WWI, Blizzcast, etc.)
As far as I can recall, ferrying lowbie people around is exactly what these multi-passenger mounts are for. There was also talk of multi-passenger flying mounts, complete with auto-activated parachutes if the driver decides to dismount mid-flight.

Tons of new achievements, especially the harder raid achievements.
A couple of highlights-
* The Immortal - Achievement - World of Warcraft - Within one raid lockout period, defeat every boss in Naxxramas on Heroic Difficulty without allowing any raid member to die during any of the boss encounters. Title Reward: The Immortal The 10-man version gives a title of The Undying.
* Heroic: Glory of the Raider - Achievement - World of Warcraft - Complete the Heroic Raid Achievements (which seem to mostly be 20-manning the raid dungeons and a selection of special stuff, including The Immortal.) 25-man gives a Black Proto-drake, 10-man version gives a Plagued Proto-Drake. There's also a version for Heroic 5-mans, which gives a Red Proto-Drake.

Not entirely sure if these are new these patch, but I spotted some racial changes:
-The human spirit is down to 3% from 5% (well, 10%)
-Blood fury no longer has an MS effect, scales with level (? can't tell)

6 seconds of downtime is 10% damage reduction for a minute, so 25% damage increase for a minute is definitely worth it, assuming you time it so that replenisment and misery aren't going to fall off. As a first-order estimate, 5% damage increase (+25%-10% for one minute, 3 minute cooldown), plus whatever the mana regen is worth to you. Strategic timing could increase the effect, RSTS attacks could lower it, strategic timing could mitigate the odds of that lowering.

You just set the mode to heroic when you want to do the 25-man version of the instance, it's not actually a heroic version of an instance of the same size.

Heroic raids are the 25-mans, normal raids are the 10-mans.

The Draenei aura is now +1% to all melee & spells (for a shaman - presumably for all classes). Still party-only however.

It looks like this latest build has added in a few new tarot cards for inscription and implemented the materials for the other glyphs.

MMO Champion has a screenshot of the new raid trinkets. 670 AP clicky trinket, oh my! Only downside is the passive is crit instead of AP. Still, it all looks very good to me. The on-proc effects are rather large as well, Mirror of Truth granting a 1000 ap proc?

Also, it seems like the Hogs are indeed engineering mounts ( 8962 Engineering - World of Raids Gallery). They don't seem to be engineering-only at the moment, but I can see this being changed.

Does anyone know where the Dalaran training dummies have been moved in the latest build? They're not in the main dueling room of the sewers any more, and nobody in /general knew either.

That's more of a talent for the prot warriors to pick up than the fury warriors.

I'm a paladin, but I have 10k AC from plate while using a 2H. If Fury warriors have roughly the same AC, they'd gain 75 Str from that talent.
For comparison, I currently have 560 Str in that gear, and that's with +10% Str from a 5 point talent. The fury talent is a solid DPS talent for the point cost.
