I would imagine you will be able to do the same with LK as long as you call in to customer service, but you'll basically be buying the standard copy in order to be able to play for those few days.

And again this option was not available at the time of TBC release according to at least two different GM's I spoke with ( back then my CE was delayed for 2 days ...oh, the horror ). Just out of curiosity I posted at ticket last night asking this and the response from the European GM was that it was not possible to upgrade a normal licensekey to the CE version, of course the offline support may give another answer since from my previous experiences they have more power at their hands to do bigger changes to accounts. Given that I wouldn't take the chance and just play it safe instead - being alone in Outlands for a few days must have some advantage.

In my experience, ingame GMs have no knowledge or power over account level issues. The suggestion I would make would be to call the customer service and ask them if you will be able to do it, since that's the way you'll have to do it anyway. Bear in mind, you aren't really "upgrading" the key, you are replacing the purchased non-CE key with a purchased CE key. Both get consumed, and both have to be owned separately. If you're concerned, then by all means wait, not to mention the fact that it may not really be worth spending $40 to just be able to play a week earlier.

I sorted the list by Ilvl, and the highest one was 226 and the comments indicated that it dropped off of Malygos-25.
There are 24 BoEs at ilvl 213. One is almost certainly (barring "Broodlord's cape" dropping from Nefarian) from Sir Zeliak. However, at least two are reportedly from Badges, which is rather interesting. Most of them have no information at all.
Of the 13 ilvl 200 BoEs, some have been reported as either trash or boss drops in Naxx-10 while others have been listed as World Drops. Krol Cleaver, Sash of Jordan and Signet of Edward the Odd are likely world drops based on their names. One was said to be off of Sartharion, but while raid size was not mentioned it's presumably 10.

Maybe that means it is a return to the old pre-TBC type boss loot where in addition to their normal items they would drop 1-2 world drop items (in the past it was rares but making it world drop epics would not be surprising for Wrath). Has anyone else seen evidence that the boss BoEs are also world drops?

Based on a few assumptions,
A) There will be another, sizable WotLK rollout event.
B) They wouldn't put a sizable event together to have it last barely two days.
C) Blizzard has shown an intereset in events with phases.
Would blizzard do an event of which only people who bought the expansion could be a part?
Do you think there is a possibility that the event, say an attack on Org and SW, would take place Tuesday, and would need to progress a phase or two before the boats head off to Northrend?
Any guesses on how this is going to go down?
I have been pretty excited on what Blizz would do to follow up the zombie event, I just hope that it helps build up to the Northrend experience, and that it isn't a let down.

Blizzard would have a veritable revolt on their hands if people can't hop on the boats and start leveling the moment they get LK installed. That said, a concurrent event could certainly be interesting and have potential as an intro to the expansion, even something that lasted a significant amount of time.
Purely speculative of course, but my feeling is that they have drastically reduced the size of the event they were planning due to the amount of server instability they have had to deal with. The entire thing from beginning to this point has seemed very haphazard and poorly designed, and I'm hoping that's just due to having to deal with all the 3.0.2 issues, and not because they actually designed something this poorly.

Hrm... I don't think Northrend is open yet... do you? Perhaps something will be occurring before then. I guess it's something we'll have to wait and see.
In the meantime, don't mind those marauding Scourge invading various areas. I mean, it's not about then anyway, right? I mean, what could Northrend and the Scourge possibly ever have in common?

I think that by now it's fairly widely known that several quests in WotLK mention that could indicate something bad happening to (at least) Ogrimmar, possibly an Alliance city too.
This could be done via a post-install phasing added to those zones, with maybe a short pre-WotlK 'intro' event?
On the whole, though, it does seem that something went wrong with the event. Not only did the zombie event end in an anti-climactic way, the necropolises have recently reset for no apparent reason, and it all feels a bit drawn out by now. It was quite surprising they didn't use this last weekend before release to do something. I suppose that if anything is happening (and I actually believe that is a pretty significant 'if'), it will possibly be after maintenance downtime this week.

Has there been any clarification on whether handing in quests completed before installing Wrath will give experience or gold? I have a full quest log that I'm wondering what to do with at the moment.

Once you have Wrath installed, they should turn into experience + a small gold reward until you hit 80.

I tried this in the beta (transferred a character with a completed daily quest) and I got xp for the quest just like you'd expect.
[e]: WoWhead shows xp rewards for some daily quests but not for others; that may mean that not all dailies give xp or it may mean incomplete data collection (I'm guessing the latter). The xp awards for dailies seem to be in the 10-15k range. If you fill up a full quest log with dailies (which is my plan) you should be able to knock out 20-25% of level 71 just with turn-ins.

Local Horde might also want to head to Orgrimmar. Massive amounts of Frost wyrms and Abominations everywhere destroying everything. I guess this is how Org will be razed.

Good news from Verimonde regarding armor tokens:
|
Yes one of the tokens has 4 classes and two of the tokens have 3. However the tokens with 3 classes have a 30% drop rate and the token with 4 has a 40% drop rate. =)
|
WotLK Beta (US-English) Forums -> 4 classes share the same armor token

There's a scripted event that's repeating in Orgrimar between Thrall and Garrosh Hellscream. Also some unique monologues when you talk to them at different points which sort of explain what's going on.

It doesn't seem likely that this event is what causes Org to be razed. The herald specifically says, "Argh! This small victory will avail you nothing! Come! Come to Northrend! My minions are waiting and they are hungry!" So the event basically has you push back to Frost Wyrm Raptors and the Towering Horrors from Org.

Yeah the screenshot at mmo-champion shows Thrall giving orders to Garrosh to set sail for Northrend. I was expecting something way more massive & intense with an appearance by Arthas (holographic atleast) so this is kinda disappointing.

"Oh shit, we've only got 2 days left to wrap this up, has Jim finished the Arthas' assault quest yet?"
"Jim??? Haven't you heard? Dude... Jim's on holidays..."
"Oh crap, quick, someone write up a quick little siege and put it on an endless cycle for a few days."
"What about the Alliance?"
"Oh... just take the King for a walk or something, no-one plays Alliance anyway right?"
That's how it comes across to me.

Stormwind Harbor just got invaded.
Frost Wyrms and Abombinations and horrible lag from the hundreds of people standing around waiting for them to invade. I'll edit in an update if anything more happens, right now the NPCs are killing everything slowly but surely.
Edit: And that's it. The Lich King forces are killed, and everybody goes back to standing around the table.

The difference in Horde and Alliance is pretty interesting:
- The Warchief is reluctant to go to war, but Hellscream (and the Lich King himself) convince him to go to war. Sylvanas and Putress seem particularly happy about going to war against the Scourge. The Blood Elves are nowhere to be seen, but I suppose they'd be more than happy to attack Scourge any day. Seeing Thrall and Saurfang running around Ogrimmar side by side killing stuff was nicely done. And Thrall wants to talk to Jaina!
- King Varian Wrynn is leading the war-effort on the Alliance side, and quite aggressively so. It's a bit sad that the Alliance suddenly has this King and his friends that have extremely little background history inside the game. And it seems only Stormwind is launching a war, with some token support from Ironforge in the form of siege weaponry. I don't see Darnassus or Exodar offering any help. Although to be fair, the Alliance has never been as tightly knit as the Horde, with even the humans split between Theramore and Stormwind, and the night elves generally keeping to Kalimdor affairs.

I also find it interesting that the Thrall is much more calm and cautious about this, while Varian is simply charging ahead without thinking. Considering they have similar backgrounds (in fact, Varians' wasn't nearly as bad as Thrall's), I find it an interesting contrast.

Perhaps the event will continue into the expansion, with "added features", in an attempt to influence a few people to stay out of northrend for the first bit? Might help alleviate some of the massive lag we're surely in for those first few days?
Maybe some epic bosses and drops in all the major cities or something?

It would be actually cool if they kept something going after release, for those that won't get wrath in the first hours/days to have something to do.

The important thing to note here is that Garrosh is charging ahead just as Varian is. And Thrall is getting a bit long in the tooth.
