It's opened in Europe for everyone now. All you need is a WoTLK-enabled account (and WoTLK installed) and to relog for it to work.

Edit: Nothing official on this yet, but those in my guild that got WoTLK are now in Northrend. There was a blue post stated that this would be based on timezones, and since Russian realms are UTC+3, this would make sense since the time is 00:27 there right now. All other European realms are UTC+1.

Well it's open for both sides on my server as of ~38 minutes ago, which roughly corresponds with the time zone for a part of Russia at least.

There's a lot of people in Northend on Stormrage Eu.

Presumably those who got it in the post today. So why is Blizzard making stores sell it at midnight and not before if they're letting people play it now?

I would have much preffered to buy it this evening in the shop instead of having to wait in the cold at midnight.

I'm glad they took away any benefits from Realm Firsts though, because this would make a farce of them.

Russian realms are essentially the same as all other EU realms (in fact, they've only very recently been 'split off'), as evidenced by the post-3.0.2 multilanguage crossrealm BGs (hilarious!). I suppose they cannot simply enable specific realms for WotLK, and just set the region-wide flag to enable Northrend.

Regardless, I'm still not going out at night to stand in line. But lots of shops are opening early tomorrow, so that's where I'll be, with lots of WoW on the shelves and fewer people

How did the early WotLK raids feel on beta in terms of being melee friendly? I'm curious after seeing a large number of folks moving to hybrids that are melee/healer or melee/tank dual-spec by their nature.

It seems I might see a lot of demand for melee DPS spots in raids even from my list of regular raiders the way things are moving.

It does help with congestion if they phase people in every hour... that way everyone is not hitting northrend at the exact same time and going for the exact same quests. Its already going to be roough so I am sure this is just one more thing to help with that.

Probably doesn't matter much to most people now, but I can confirm that banked dailies do give experience when turning them in after installing WotLK.

I would blame that more on people switching to (and intending to be) healing classes and tanking classes. All of the tanking trees received major buffs, and quite a few people are switching to healing so they can heal the upcoming flood of DK tanks.

There's nothing inherently better for melee dps compared to caster dps in the expansion.

Well as I previously said, I really like fishing. Fishing today in Howling Fyord I caught ..

Which triggered the one that didn't get away fishing achievement and cheered me up a bit after the non realm first.

About how many catches did you make? Someone on El's was reporting about 300.

I've spent about 5 days standing at Stonebull Lake without any success, so I'm ready to move on.

I don't keep a catch count, but I estimate that total amount of fishing time in northeast Howling Fjord lakes and rivers was somewhere around three to four hours, in long chunks and brief bursts between quests. Roughly around six to eight hundred fish.

I just got the Salty title last night and the total amount of time to get all the coins in the fountain was much longer than the rare catch.

Since I don't see any other thread for it, and there's no post on mmo-champion about it yet - there were several Hotfixes during maint last night that I've noticed so far.

Edit: Noticed a bug that was introduced so sorting list into intended and unintended.

Intended
- Loot Chests (CoT:Strat, Oculus, etc) now sparkle with loot sparkles.
- You may now loot Stone Keeper Shards if your faction controls Wintergrasp while it is in combat (previously nobody could loot them during the 40 minutes of battle)
- Archavon the Stonewatcher (10man atleast) now has a seven day reset instead of one day.

Unintended
- Titan Relic in Wintergrasp appears no longer to be interactable (Only confirmed for Horde on Ner'zhul and Horde on Frostwolf) this means that it is impossible to change which side is controlling wintergrasp.
