In order to get back Steamwheedle rep without losing Bloodsail rep, you have to kill the 'alternative' enemies of the goblins; for Ratchet, this is the Southsea Pirates, for Booty Bay it's the Venture Co. Goblins, and for Gadgetzan it's the Wastewander Bandits. Since by the time you are killing these mobs you are well past their level, they give 1 point of rep each with the local goblin city, and therefore 0.5 rep each with the other factions. By the time you cap your Bloodsail rep at 11,999/12,000 Honored you've been at 0/36,000 Hated with Booty Bay, you have a lot of catching up to do. I think I ran around south of Ratchet casting rank 2 CoA on those pirates for.... months. Total killcount was somewhere around 50,000 before I had to move to Gadgetzan.

The real trick is that pretty much all the old school "kill monsters for rep" factions cap out (since the cap level change from half honored - whew that was a long time ago) at "max" honored, meaning 11,999/12,000. Fortunately, after scouring the world for Booty Bay-affiliated goblins, there is one particular goblin that gives you 1 point of rep with the Bloodsail, even through Revered. Unfortunately he has a 7 minute respawn timer, and he's the only one. And he's not near anything else. 38 reputation later, I decided I had better things to work on...

You mean you spent 4 hours camping the mob until you realized it would take another ~102 days of /played camping to max the reputation?

Empit I'm pretty sure he is in a raiding guild, considering his 2 piece T5 bonus and other pieces of SSC loot. But still, that's mind boggling the amount of rep grinding he's done.

I highly doubt he has much time to raid.

Apparently this is fixed on the PTR. The same trick was also useable for getting high reps with both Steamwheedle and Bloodsail at the same time.

Sure he has tons of time to raid! He doesn't have to do any rep grinding anymore. That's all done with.

Why do people keep saying that Tombom doesn't raid or won't have access to BT/MH to continue the rep later? Look at his gear. He has 3 pieces of T5, including the hat from Vashj. I'm sure his guild will be into MH and BT sooner or later. So yeah your wife will still be one rep behind. :p
