We're planning to sell the [Nether Vortex] for about 1000g ea, once our raiders have all they need.
What do you sell [Heart of Darkness] and gems for, or are you still stocking them for later use? (2.4 will add the sunwell, and new items)

-= Random Ravings - RSS Feed =- Rogue and Hunter stuff here. As well as guides to get you trough your spare time.
Gems – 300g each, except 15 stamina gems ([Solid Empyrean Sapphire]) which are 400g. Due to the rarity and demand for [Crimson Spinel] gems, we have no plans to sell them at this time.
Patterns (shoulders) – 2400g each, you get the pattern + the required [Heart of Darkness]
We also have the following pre-crafted bracers available for sale – 2800g
Clearly this guild has "a corner on the market," but a lot of people in my guild (SSC clear) have taken an interest in these opportunities, so they must not be too bad.
On Tichondrius, there is a large demand for the gems for PVP purposes, so we sell most of them for 499. I'm expecting a surge in demand for gems with Arena season 3, so I'm going to try to slow down the gem sales until then.
We initially sold Shoulders + 2 hearts for 3k, bracers for 4k, but have since lowered the price to 2.5k/3.5k. We now sell individual hearts for 875g (originally 1k) and cut deals for bulk purchases.
We sold 5 vortexes for 10k gold to a rich player on our server during the first week after the patch that made them start dropping. We farmed Solarian's trash for ~10 hours that weekend and fulfilled most of the initial demand for nether vortex. Since then, we have only sold vortex through belts at 2-3k each.
I'm really enjoying these systems in place to let guilds make money while raiding. In addition to covering the basics like resist gear and cauldrons we have been able to send out a couple big paychecks to each of our raiders (~750g each).
I don't think soul essence should really be in the same category as the others.
Ah, supply and demand. On Mal"Ganis you can barely sell most epic gems for 200 gold (Spinels yes, but no one sells Spinels), Hearts go for 300-350, shoulder patterns are things I can list on the AH day after day and they'll rarely sell. The really good ones might fetch 750g or even 1k for a Nimble Thought after the 2.2 haste buff. Vortexes have consistently been 750g per for us, sold via belts.
That said, we still have a very healthy guild bank so I can't exactly complain.

Blackrock's prices tend to be just about double the figures you're describing. We have four (at last count) guilds that sell BT gems/hearts, the latter currently holding steady at around 550 a pop. Gems obviously range in price, with the healing gem on the AH for a much higher price than most others. BT recipes are about 1.5-2k, Vortices (vortexes?) around 1k.
Last I checked, the Red Belt of Battle was 2k and the Belt of Blasting was around 1.8k.
If this game had welfare, I would for damn sure be on it.
On Mannoroth vortexes are going for around 500g each unless you can craft a recipe not commonly in supply. We tend to get around 700g a vortex for those.
Pardon the dumb question, but how exactly do you sell a Nether Vortex? Do you bring the "customer" into the raid and Master Loot it to them, or am I missing something about it being BoP?

I think usually you give them to someone with the belt pattern then have that person sell a belt to someone -- perhaps with the buyer supplying the extra mats.
If someone needs them for blacksmithing weapons, yes, you'd need to bring that person with you, which apparently some people have done.
We sell belts for 1k + mats (so 500g for a Nether) and weapon upgrades for 2k (buy 4 get the 5th free). Sounds like we should charge more based on the prices other servers are getting! I've actually had offers for much more from people wishing to "cut the line" for weapons, but I tell them they have to wait. I'm too fair I guess. =P
T5 boot patterns are hard to sell...some still fetch 350g+, but Utter Darkness and the mail +damage boots are hard to sell these days. No real market for Hearts yet (we use all of ours as do the other guilds on our server), but you see epic gems every once in a while for 300g or so. Haven't tried selling the shoulder patterns from T6 yet.
Still no other guilds in BT on our server so we have a corner on the market. We didn't want to price gouge so we just set up prices that seemed typical of most servers.
The market on DI alliance is terrible, compared to many of the servers listed above. Consider that there's only 1 alliance guild in BT, and 2 (almost 3) horde guilds in BT.
Hearts: 400-500g
Shoulders + 2 hearts: 1.3-1.5k
Bracers (includes hearts): 2k
Gems: Nothing sells at 400g, and so far I haven't sold a single yellow/blue/green/purple at 275g. I'm waiting till S3 hits to attempt again.
There's not much of a strong raid presence alliance side (much of the alliance population is part of the PAA, an casual raider to uber casual player crowd). Demand is pretty flat.
Well, not terrible, exactly, just not extremely lucrative for Shahraz trash soloing hunters.
Still haven't seen anything being sold on Kil'jaeden, which is a bit of a drag, its a day-one server and I thought it would have a fairly hardcore auction house.
Kind of a fool's effort, but does anyone have some rough number on the number of servers where BT stuff is regularly sold/bought in public?
Postal(a) and Singularity(h) will probably start selling their materials at some point soon as well.
So, we have about 3 guilds capable of selling BT / Hyjal items on our server.

What.
We sell shoulder patterns and hearts quite often. We also use to sell nether vortex BoE items. Both of em usually around 2k sometimes more or less depending on the product and time. If your on KJ, I know Frat has a sales list on their website and other guilds might as well.
We don't bother with the AH considering its a pretty large cut.
We are able to sell vortex pretty easily for 500g each. We have been selling epic gems from anywhere between 200g to 375g each but I have to agree with the few people here who already posted that they will be waiting until S3 before trying to sell anymore. We have 2 other alliance guilds on our server in BT/Hyjal so we do have competition but I believe we are usually the first to offer any of the salable items to the general public.
Our server's economy is kind of ... out of whack. We've been selling "belts" from TK/SSC for a while now, and due to that off kilter economy we sell the belts for 750g "per click" so their mats + our vortexs. so 350 a vortex. We've just now reached the point (with Shahraz down now) where we can begin selling hearts for bracers and shoulders although I dont think there has been much interest. The only gems we've really been able to sell (due to need by our raiders) are those damn Seaspray Emeralds that seem to just fill our guildbank. These seemed to sell alright though, since PvP is what the majority of the playerbase on our server does, people are always looking for a bit of an edge.
On Gorgonnash which is also a release server we have 4 Horde guilds in BT (9, 6, 5, 3 Boss kills each) and no one is selling HoD yet. With the amounts of HoD that every raid needs before even starting to craft those haste items I don't think they'll be on the market anytime soon either. Which again lets me wonder, all those guilds who are now selling HoD, have you been farming Illidan for a longer time now? Or how did you guys come about so many HoD (we got 2 out of our Hyjal clear and 3? I think up until RoS. Farming them is a pain aswell because of the 30minute lockout) ?

We've just recently reached Illidan, and are able to sell Hearts currently. Its really all just luck of the RNG, and a little bit of guild planning. As I know a few people have said in other threads: You dont make SR legs for people, and make sure to maximize your trash farming time while learning Gorefiend, Bloodboil/Reliquary, and Akama. Saving the bosses with more trash till the end of the week, and making sure you clear, reclear, and clear that trash again will help your Heart situation quite a bit.
