Pushing the PTT key while on the phone.
Saying gold instead of our local currency.
Saying level instead of age.
Those are my three most common WoW/Reality crashes. But there's one which makes me laugh every time I think about it. I was fairly drunk and heading home from the bar one late Saturday night when I came across this big street fight. As I approached them I thought to myself, "Hope I don't aggro them" and tried to walk past them at a safe range...
I blame the alcohol.

Sometimes when I set my alarm and short myself a little bit of sleep to play more wow, I have delusional moments right when I wake up.
I've often times tried to check my friends list to see if my fellow arena mates are on, while laying in bed.
One time I persuaded myself to continue to sleep, telling myself that they'll whisper me when they're all online and ready to go.

After a long session of gaming, i had to drive to town to do some errand. Driving through town i notice that the traffic lights are acting up, and i instantly think: "Shit, the server is going down, now I'll never make it back to my pc in time for the raid".

I've experienced many of these, but my big one? I will be thinking about someone I met, a new friend, etc... and wonder, wait, what class are they?

I'm pretty sure I've pressed push-to-talk and then shouted downstairs - I've definitely heard somebody else doing the same.
And of course there's somebody pressing push-to-talk just before they cough their guts up. It's always far more amusing than it should be

Is that out of a need to constantly be doing something while playing? I find myself opening and closing bags all the time when I'm flying somewhere, sitting idly in a raid, etc.
And of course the push to talk key while on the phone..Guilty of that MANY times over.
I love this thread, such great stories.

I was coming home from work 1 night at 4AM. Being tired, I decided that I'd put myself on autofollow with the car in front of me, and this would let me rest my eyes...
Fortunately for me, not too many people are on the road at 4AM, and there weren't too many curves on that portion of the highway.

I know whenever I sit down in front of a PC, to perform any task whatsoever, my left hand automatically plants itself with my fingers on the QWE keys.

Something like that I don't know quite why I do it, but I'm constantly opening my bags, character sheet, etc. when not actually in a fight.

I try to do that while watching boss fights all the time. I end up pawing at the monitor helplessly.
Also, only partially RL, I was playing D&D with some friends and I rolled a Theif. We got into a hard fight, so shouted "Vanish." They both play WOW though, so they just thought it was funny.
I like the stories about stuff that is partially used in real life, but not really. E.g. "Pass" on the pie instead of "I'll Pass" or L2drive when I'm sure lots of people yell Learn To Drive, moron. I remember after playing a while and thinking one day, hey a Hearthstone is actually something in real life.

FYI: God officially hates you for that.
I do enjoy the idea of frost nova'ing smll children.
After having a roughly 5 minute conversation with my girlfriend on the phone in the middle of a raid with the help of PTT I've managed to never pull that one again.
I do frequently wish that I could /ignore people or tab out and mute them on vent.
and I've wanted to fear obnoxious traffic so they get aggro from cars going the wrong way and are no longer impeding me >.>

Saying "Ta" instead of Thanks is fairly common. My non WoW friends got used to it now.

I recently went to visit some friends I had made playing wow who are at University in England. They subsequently introduced me as Stangg to everyone they knew, so for over a week thats all anyone called me, problem was I started introducing myself as Stangg to people I didn't know, then when they commented on how strange it was I took a chance and blagged that it was Polish.
I'm moving there in a couple of months, looking forward to my new identity
Also when I'm out of cash I have those out of reality moments when I honestly think I can just pop out and grind some more.

Ta isn't a WoW thing or even a gaming/internet thing as far as I'm aware. It's just a British contraction of thank you. I've certainly been saying it for longer than I can remember (which is longer than I've been using the internet/playing games).
