My gf woke me up in the middle of the night because she had an upset stomach.
Except she didn't wake me up completely.
She said i mumbled something about having to drop a tummy totem (yes i play a shaman) and rolled over and went back to sleep.

I'm walking down the high street in Leamington Spa. Three girls come rushing out of MCDonalds, giggling and looking behind them. A security guard comes out of the door, pauses and shouts "Ha!" just like human male guards in WOW do when aggroed. The girls leg it down the road and the guard follows them to the 'limit of his aggro zone', stops and walks back to the store. I wonder briefly whether he will go into evade mode now if I try to pull him.

For some reason, late at night, I very often think of some of the women I hang out with as priests who can heal or rez me should I accidently seriously injure me in my various activites.
I have also dreamed I was attacked by gargoyles (during the age of Naxx) and I pushed my MT into harms way while I alt F4'd hoping to get my char to log off.
There was a kid I met at school named Mike whom I found out played wow. About 3 months later he yelled at me once as I talked to him saying his name was Mike, not Tales (his character name.) The really bad thing is the next day I remembered him not wanting to be called Tales, but I could not remember his name at all.
I went with my brother to a shooting range for his first time, and while they were explaining gun safety (never point a gun at anyone even if it's not loaded..) I walked by the instructor to throw out something, and walked right in front of the gun that was aimed to the side. Upon being called out that I should also not walk in front of a gun, I started to say "But I'm in your dead...." and caught myself. Had to leave the place and call my brother's cell telling him to call me to pick him up.

I think the worst time was when a while back I was grindign AV rep on my paladin. I had a long weekend so I decided that one day I would just sit there and grind all day long. (I believe I was getting close to exalted) All went well till I went asleep.
I had a dream where I was grinding rep in AV. And it wasn't as if I was my paladin or anything, it was a dream of me playing WoW, grinding AV rep. I even checked rep and sat thorough a queue. It was terrifyingly vivid. After that I took a week off from WoW.
Beyond that normal stuff, like using acronyms IRL without realizing it. (explaining GG and QQ to my roommate this year was fun.)

Fantastic. If that really happened, I've yet to hear of a better instance (lol) where real life imitates WoW. I find myself thinking along those terms quite often, but in a half-serious sort of mentality. Like trying to evaluate the specific things I did that bothered my girlfriend at the time by assigning "hate" values to each specific action.
When you do something repetitively, it tends to linger presciently in your mind. I've had to explain what "for the win" means to friends in both online and real-life conversations many, many times--sometimes even in abbreviated form. Back when I used to lead raids, and much of my mental energy was focused on planning and implementing strategies for specific encounters, I would have half-awoken dreams just prior to getting up in the morning about Onyxia's whelps being in the corner and how crucial it was that I stay away from them. Bizarre things, honestly.
When these started to occur with more frequency, I quit WoW for the first time.

I just had a "WoW at work" moment right now.
I normally keep my GnomeCruncher (in-game multi-line calculator addon) button just below the minimap. I was adding up some figures for a report and moved my mouse instinctively towards that spot, before I realized I didn't have such a thing in Windows.

You were missing the () at the end of Feral Charge (Bear), this is necessary otherwise WoW thinks you're trying to cast Feral Charge Rank Bear.

I was just at the grocery store. When I went to leave I looked at the fuel gauge and though to myself, "Hmm, my car is almost OOM."
I kid you not, this was 15 minutes ago.

One of my RL friends and wow guildmates routinely vanishes on us (He played a rogue, ofcourse). We'll all be hanging out playing games or something, and he'll just sneak out while no one is paying attention. 5 minutes later, everyone else in the room will wonder where he is.
The same friend has a character named 'Chicken'. We were supposed to go out for wing night, but I was busy playing WoW instead. He logs for a split second and I get a whisper 'From Chicken: EAT ME'. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing.
Sometimes after I've played games for a long time, I'll see the game even when I close my eyes. This has only really happened with Tetris and WoW.

So, i have a car with "run-flat" tires. with run flats, you can continue to drive when you get a flat, but only for ~80 miles, and you must not exceed 50 MPH.
the other day, i got a flat. There was a "thump", and my "tire pressure" light started blinking and dinging- I looked at the spedometer, and it was on 80 (i was on the expressway). At 30 miles over the "safe" limit, my first thought was, "Doh! better vanish, or i'll pull aggro!"... my second thought was that i clearly play too much wow.

My fiancee and I were going into our bedroom the other day to, well, "play"...
I quickly pondered which gear set I wanted to wear for the encounter and decided on my PvP gear.

WoW's UI is quite customizable, so that has sparked some "getting used to it" for me - but mostly in using the computer for other things.
ICQ - Details or IRC - /whois - I constantly try to use my B key, that's bound to "Inspect Player"
Or how much I pushed "O" (Guild Pane) instead of clicking on the ICQ window...
And the number one thing of being trained is (when you use too much Linux consoles) is when you always try to save in Word or Text Editor with :wq! - especially cool if that results in a compile error if used in sourcecode :P

I was out throwing a frisbee with my young nephews a week or so ago, and after making a somewhat athletic half-dive half-fall to keep the younger one from feeling the wrath of the older one's frisbee toss, I got up and brushed myself off thinking "man, that was a sweet intervene."
I should probably seek help.

Oh come on :P
This thread is proof of nothing more than our race's ability to adapt one set of experiences to help make sense of another. Inapplicable sometimes, sure. But anytime a group of WoW players get together, they'll often fall back on WoW terminology to explain things unrelated to WoW. Why? They're often precise shared definitions.
How do I explain how very lazy and inept a coworker is? I could say "He's very stupid and never does more than the minimum" or I could say, "If this guy played WoW, he'd be the warrior who never got Defensive Stance and has his gear break on the second wipe." The second one is not only more amusing, it gives a better picture of the terribleness of the coworker in question.
It's not like anyone here is running around consistently believing that they themselves are a hunter or a shaman or whatever, trying to blast traffic cops with lightning bolts. People are just being kind enough to share their amusing temporary mental glitches with the rest of us. =)

PTT happens all the time, but that doesn't really bother me anymore.
Two most humiliating things for me was about a year ago my friend and I were heading to see a movie. My friend who was driving, who also plays wow, was speeding and cut off two or 3 people through the entire ride. We were running late and the ladies we were meeting there had been waiting for us for quite some time.
We get there. Get out of the car and meet up with the girls and my friend brings up how he had cut off a bunch of people. I immediately replied with, "Yeah you are probably going to get hate tells later."
I didn't say much the rest of that evening.
The second time myself and two friends were in Best Buy. We were looking through the movies when an absolutely gorgeous women starts down the isle from the other side.
One of my friends starts to backup, not realizing she was behind him. So I say out loud, "Look out T. You are being attacked."
The lady gave me a weird look and my friends just busted out laughing at me.

I used to think I was perfect. Then I realized that thinking ones self perfect is conceit and conceit is a character flaw. I have no character flaws.
