Great tip for those rogue engineers who don't know this already: You can vanish and combat res someone with jumper cables (XL).
2/3 MC newbies = means about 2/3 of the raid is new to MC.

Eh, I commend you guys on putting together a raid exclusively out of goon squad members. The whole permagroup of CG was holding you back. With some practice im sure you will be able to work your way through the whole instance.

Works even better with feign.
Good job guys -- if you can do Mag, you can do any boss in the zone through domo.

Eh, it's not so much "reverted." GS never used a points system -- CG does, and is a separate entity.
At this point, where most of the participants are going to MC for the thrill of downing bosses for the first time, it's no big deal because everyone's having a great time and the achievement is what matters. Once you get the bosses down and everyone goes in knowing and expecting to kill them, then it becomes about the loot. And at that point, yeah, you do need something other than /random to avoid immense frustration.
But I'm sure you'll work it out as you go.

When you guys do settle on a loot system though, for the love of god dont let it be one where you allow significant upgrades to rot for any reason. It is disheartening hearing from some guilds how they disenchanted an epic shield or whatever epic trinket because all their members wanted some weapon and wouldnt pay for armor.
