Our's opened yesterday and while it wasn't the insane selling seen by other servers, trade was brisk enough to make a very tidy profit by listing gems for about 20g more than usual and enchanting mats (VCs, LPSs) for about 10g more than usual. They didn't sell out, but probably about 75% did. Primal water, air and life prices are up about 5g with the others unchanged. Runic Spellthreads didn't sell as well as I'd hoped although I did manage to double the usual price, so I have a few to offload over the next few weeks.
One thing I noted about my new server is that it is very easy to manipulate prices here. On Dethecus, if you listed items at 20g higher than the usual price you'd be undercut by up to 10g by the next person posting and prices will be back down to normal within two days. On Barthilas, people tend to undercut by only 10s to 1g, so my listings seem to have pushed some specific cut gem prices much higher than they were previously listing.
Edit: Regarding greens, it depends on the combination of armour class/suffix. Bandit and Monkey both sell very well on mail and leather. Prophet, Physician, Invoker and Sorcerer on cloth. Bear, Champion, Beast (to a lesser extent) on plate. Any straight +healing gear seems to sell regardless. I always d/e weapons and sell the GPEs because it's a less risky approach than losing all your profit on a relisting if you only get one, or a higher profit if you get two.

What combination of stats on green items (weapons and armor) seem to consistently sell? I've been DEing all of mine, and vendoring the weapons, but have wondered if I could make more from the AH on some of the items.
|
"Of the Soldier", "Of the Bandit" and "Of the Bear" are quite desirable for melee DPS/Hunters, while "Of the Invoker" and "Of <element> Wrath" tend to be popular with caster.
Look out for "Of Shadow Wrath" on Cloaks, Wands and Bracers especially, since that usually ends up as best-in-slot for a Warlock/Shadow Priest for quite some time.
Also look out for Feral Staves like the [Angerstaff] or [Brutal Scar-Limb]. These have a level 57/58 level requirement, and anyone rolling a Druid alt will snap one up to get Feral AP as soon as possible.
Another niche green to watch out for are 2.60 speed one-handers, for anyone with an Enhancement Shaman alt. [Doomsayer's Mace] or [Shekketh Talons] are great level 57-60 off-hands for this purpose, as are [Ravager Claws] for the main-hand.

The vendor on Kirin Tor (EU) opened this week-end. For records, the situation was the following:
- Spellthreads didn't sell well. There where a half dozen Runed Spellthread at standard price (they didn't sell), and a few Golden one at majored price (they didn't sell well either).
- On the other hand, the Leg Armors where selling like crazy. I sold a Nethercleft Leg Armor for 700 gold pieces (usual price: 300-350 gp), and a lot of Clefthoof leather at 15gp piece (it's about 150-200% the common price).
- Cobra scales stayed at their usual price, despite a small spike (200% their usual price) for one hour or so after the opening. I guess some peoples had stockpiles but it took them some time to react.
- The price of Nether Scales nearly doubled, too.
- Heavy Knothide Leather sold for about double its usual price, too.
- They where really few Primal Shadow at the AH. I managed to sell my small stock (~10 pieces) at 200% the normal price.
- Primal life sold well, primal fire didn't move an inch.
- Arcane Dust price got up a little, but not for long (~1gp20 instead of 0.90 gp). The same can be said for GPE (~6gp instead of ~4gp). LPS price got up by about 30-60% (~39gp instead of 25-29gp) but remained stable at that price.
Basically, I made a few thousand gold pieces over the week-end, but I was wrong about some things. I though that Spellthread would sell better (could barely sold one or two), and should have stockpiled more Leg Armors.
Also, I saw a lot of friends bragging about their new badge gear, but it seems that my mages and warlocks friends nearly didn't buy anything, excepted the ring. As a warlock, I only bought the ring, too. I have the feeling that this can explain why Spellthreads sold so bad, but I have no concrete proof.

A lot of what happened on my server has been said be previous people. But just to add another point of datum. The prices rose a lot, not a whole lot sold. I'm a LWer and the tanking and physical DPS patches sold well, but there weren't many mats to be found before hand so I couldn't stock up as much as I would have liked. Like many others I stocked up on a lot of dps spell threads and I was able to sell 3 of the 12 or so I had. The ones that I sold were only a little bit above the normal asking price as well and far below what the mats spiked for on patch day.
In restrospec, A) I don't think the spell damage badge pants are as good as the tanking and other ones out there. I know I heard at least one guildy mage and ele shammy saying they thought they sucked.
B) the people that saved the patches either had the enchant stuff ready to go or they weren't willing to buy at the obviously exorbetent prices. Which just goes to show
C) high prices/price spikes do not equal stuff actually selling.

Many of the classes that the new badge pants appeal to already have spellstrike or whatever replaced it. Although obviously an upgrade in terms of stamina and intellect, both options are at best a sidegrade dps-wise, and that's not considering the set bonus...
The people who made the most cash on our badge vendor day were those who were thinking ahead weeks ago. Prices on scales, primal air, life and water steadily rose over the 2 weeks before it opened, and by the big day there wasn't much further for the price to go. Air was at 30 and is now 35+, life went from 20 a week ago to 30 on badge day, LPS 20-30 as well. I'm sure clever people struck rich in markets i never even considered. Mana potions, bizarrely enough, doubled in price and managed to stay there without a similar rise in mats cost. I suppose that had more to do with increased raiding due to 2.4 and the dropped attunements more than the badge vendor, though.
the T5 belt racket continues to be lucrative, and id recommend it for anybody with lots of gold to invest.

near as I can tell, the t5 belt market should remain profitable indefinately. After all, even tough anyone that wants a belt and has the money can easily get all the materials of the auction house and have one made, this involves finding a crafter, then trusting said crafter with a rather large chunk of high-value goods, and paying a fee - so the convinience of being able to buy the finished belt of the auction house should be worth a couple hundred gold.
What I am really unclear on is why the heck the belts continue to sell at flat out unreasonable prices. I've using a 1750 buyout on all the belts Ive sold, and so far only one has gone for bid. All the rest have been bought out. And 1750 isnt a "couple hundred" its more like 50% profit..

I have a question about auctioneer/btmscan addon. Does anyone know how to calibrate it to look only for 51-60 greens that disenchant to illusion dust/eternal essence? Because I usually check AH for 51-60 greens and I have to browse a lot to find some that are preTBC and give old materials.

Boulderfist's badge vendor opened around 11pm server time Saturday night.
About an hour before the opening I listed Primal Nethers for 70g (marked up from 35g), Cobra Scales for 45g (25g), Heavy Knothide for 20g/4 (8g/4), Primal Airs for 40g (35g), Primal Mana for 20g (15g), Primal Earth for 10g (5g), and Primal Water for 35g (30g).
Every Primal Nether sold overnight. Almost everything else came back. I sold eleven of fifty Cobra Scales, one of sixteen packs of Heavy Knothide, twenty of sixty-five Primal Mana, and that's it.
Does anyone have any thoughts on why the demand spike that happened on Proudmoore didn't happen on many other servers? Was Proudmoore's speed through the SSO event driven by a particularly large number of people waiting to pick up new badge loot? Did enough people from other servers hear about the Proudmoore spike that they were able fend off any possible shortages by flooding the auction house; or did the continued availability of Primals have more to do with the badge vendor opening right in the middle of the weekend?

I have had limited success with the T5 belts. Most likely due to my realm being RP-PVP, and does not have a high volume of Alliance raid guilds. :/

I can't really speak on the lack of a spike on some servers, because it hit Shadow Council pretty hard. Taking from the Proudmoore info here, I posted most of my material backlog on Thursday night, when the vendor was at 95%. I'll use the format the poster above used, with my price (usual average).
Large Prismatics - 40g (25g)
Void Crystals - 37g (25g)
Greater Planars - 7.5g (5.5g)
Arcane Dust - 1.9g (1.2g)
Living Ruby - 99.5g (65g)
Dawnstone - 45g (30g)
Noble Topaz - 59g (45g)
Star of Elune - 49g (30g)
Nightseye - 45g (35g)
Primal Nether - 170g (95g)
Primal Mana - 22g (13g)
Primal Fire - 45g (32g)
Primal Air - 45g (25g)
Cobra Scales - 49g (20g)
Vendor came out about 6 hours later. During the next two days, 102 out of 171 auctions sold. The fastest sellers were the Large Prismatics, and even now are still selling in minutes in the 35-40g range. I sold all of my Living Ruby and Noble Topaz, and -none- of the other gems. I was surprised that blue gems didn't spike due to the new tanking gear. Guess people love their damage stat gems, no surprise there. The Cobra Scales also sold very quickly, and there's still heavy demand for them. All of the Primals sold by Saturday morning.
Although I didn't sell any, Lifes also spiked big time, from 10g to 20-25g.
None of the Voids sold. There was practically no demand for them, with a major backlog, and the price didn't move above 25g. I sold about half of my Arcane Dust and Greater Planars, mostly in stacks of 1 and 2 for the Planars, and 4 and 8 for the Dust. The few larger stacks I had up got sent back, the apparent reason being that people were typically shelling out for one enchant's worth of dust. 2 out of 3 Nethers sold before the price settled back down to 110-120g.
72 hours after the vendor opened, most items are back down near their old price, perhaps 10-20% higher. The major exceptions are Cobra Scales, LPS, and most Primals, which are still fetching amounts far above their pre-vendor price.

I think that selling only mats instead of some Leg Armors was an error. First, selling an already crafted armor is more convenient for the buyer, especially if he don't have a lot of LW friends. Secondly, when most peoples wants something, they want it now.
Moreover, it's much more easy and secure for most people to sell mats instead of the finished product: if it don't sell, it can still be reused for something else. Did you check to see if you had a lot of competition ? Maybe someone with a large stockpile of mats undercutted you most of the time ?

Not yet. They have to "build" the alchemy lab still, similar to the anvil in P3.
Still wondering why there is no listing of Designs for the Rare spell haste gems. The only hint we've seen is a comment that they might open up later in the isle progression, but shouldn't the Designs have been datamined by now if they existed? Unless they are "taught" by Shaani or someone else.

On Mannoroth, parts of the Proudmoore demand spike showed through, but within 12-24 hours (vendor opened mid-day Friday), prices had dropped back to pre-badge vendor prices.
As experienced on other servers, Nethercobra Leg Armor mats were probably the most lucrative of the leg enchants, particularly Cobra Scales.
For the most part, suppliers were able to keep up with the demand for mats (brief shortage of primal life) and due to the sheer volume of mats being listed, either the farmers came prepared or decided to dump mats leading into the weekend. I believe that those who were willing to grind for many of the new badge items were the type to prepare for the respective enchants, or at the very least find a crafter instead of buying the finished product. As an example, I've sold 6 of the 12 Runic Spellthreads and 3/5 Golden Spellthreads that were made specifically for this opening event. Perhaps the cause for the low sales volume was the overly aggressive pricing, but I'm not entirely sure about that.
This past weekend, during the 72 hours after opening, the big sellers have been rare gems and Large Prismatics. I attribute this to AV weekend's usual high demand for enchants/gems and because of Mannoroth's problems with the Arenas/BGs causing many people to log off.

On Mal'Ganis/Horde, Primal Nethers are around 35g or so, with Vortices around 125-200g. Neither moved much with the badge vendor.
To report some more results from the post-badge vendor aftermath on Mal'Ganis/Horde:
- Runic Spellthreads only spiked moderately, going from 250g to around 330g. I listed 10, pricing aggressively, only to be undercut by someone who listed 10 himself for 5g less than my lowest one :-/
- Green gems skyrocketed. Bold Blood Garnets and the like are _selling_ at 10g each and I've seen ones listed for 18g. Previously were around 5-6g.
- LPS went from 20-22g to 30-33g. Void Crystals remained mostly unchanged, hovering around 17-23g.

Could be short term... if people are "holding out" for epic gems once the vendor spawns... its logical that if you have enough badges to buy all epic gems you need, that you wont spend 70+ gold on rares, only to use them for a period of 2 weeks.
on Arathor (EU) all uncommon cut gems are still in the range of 1-2 gold, the only exception being the +6 agility ones that are 2.5 gold... I'm almost inclined to draw some oversimplified conclusions about the Europeans, but I won't

Primal Nether have a standard price of about 120-150 gp on my server. Yes, I mean Primals, and yes, it's the price "outside of a specific inflation". I do quite a decent margin when I manage to get some for 70-80gp...
About the green quality gems, only the blue and red ones seems to have spiked in price, the other colors remained quite stable.

Funny I was betting on cobra scales to bring me a boatload of cash when the vendor opened. No such luck. I had been saving them for a while now and even though I was the only player on the cobra scale market I only sold about 10 of the 25 I initially posted. They did go for 40g and it's not like I'm going to lose money on them later even when prices normalize but I didn't make near what I thought I would and will still have a very big stockpile. I made tons of of LPS though.

Our badge vendor opened up on Saturday. I invested fairly heavily into Runic Spellthread. I had been making them here and there for a few weeks from all those extra Primal Mana I had been getting from the new dailies as well as using badges to purchase Primal Nethers. In an attempt to make more money on my stock of Spellthreads, I bought all the ones that were listed just as the vendor opened as well as most of the Primal Mana listed. Made more Spellthread with the Primals I bought and start listing some Spellthread on the AH 100g higher then what they were listed at... didn't sell anything till a day later when the prices where back down to the old price range. Oh well, maybe season 4 will come soon and I can sell the rest of these.

I did the same thing with Runic spellthread on my server, I put up like 4 of them and only 1 sold
Golden Spellthread on the other hand sells like hot cake, about 400g on my server now...sold like 8 in one-day.
I was talking to a guildie about this and he said, most caster dps that use runic spellthread can craft it for themselves...Healers on the other hand are mostly alchemy type...at least on my server.

I'm on Hellscream, and while certain crafted items have stopped selling 4 at a time for 200%, I'm still selling spellthreads for 50-100g more than before the vendor. All my epic gem re-sales have sold, sold 4x nethercobra legarmors for 750g apiece (not kidding), sitting on 3x now and debating putting them up or waiting for more people to buy their new leg pieces.
Prices spiked really hard after the vendor came out for about 36 hours and then dived a little, but everything is still much more than before.

Badge vendored opened Saturday for us. I didn't see a huge spike in enchanting mats / gems, and Primal Nethers fluctuate around 100g.
I didn't spend a lot of time online yesterday, but LPS held steady around 22g, Primal Air moved up slightly, and Heavy Knothide Leather all but disappeared. I picked up all Cobra Scales that were under 20g, and had somebody craft 3 Nethercobra patches. 1000g in mats total, sold for 600, 600 and 700 within 24 hours.

Heh, I can tell you what I've been trying to buy in the past. For druids, I find that good healing bracer and belt rewards are kinda uncommon, so for a while I was buying random-suffix greens off the AH for those two gear slots. It was a pain, because very few people were selling them.
