One thing I was just reminded of that I haven't seen in this thread. It may seem obvious, but I absolutely love checking the AH just before the servers go down.
People often forget that the servers go down for 6-8 hours, and the AH times continue to tick down during this down-time. I've won quite a few items that are severely under-priced simply because the person listing it put a very low bid price, and the time left was less than 12 hours.
(What reminded me? Last night I bought a ~800-900g epic item for 350g. I may equip this on one of my alts, but first I'm going to try and resell it for a nice 400g profit.)
This may seem obvious, but there are chances that sunfury signets price will fall after 2.4. New dailies ask for mass blood elves murdering.
I expect that Marks of Sargeras will also decrease in price, although to a lesser degree, as one of the Sunwell dailies gives you a choice between Marks or Signets as a reward.

Any idea if those reward marks will be bind on pickup, like most quest rewards are?
It would decrease the demand for them obviously, but if they are bind on pick up, at least they won't flood the market.
(Because players who are exalted wouldn't be able to do anything with them)

Personally i prefer to sell epics of anything above 100g in worth trough /2 instead of the auction house. The 5% cut does add up, and you're able to offer nice discounts to customers. You also don't lose the initial fee if the item doesn't sell (which is rather often with epics). You do need to log onto the character that's selling it quite often though, unless you do it with your main.

So, we're getting more Fel Lotus in 2.4 and Shatt flasks are announced to work in SW25. I'm sitting on herbs and flasks with a current worth of around 3k gold and I'm pondering what to do, as I was originally planning on releasing my stocks for those hitting SW25. Now though, I'm not sure that'll be profitable any more.
No matter how much they boost Fel Lotus drops from Felweed and Dreaming Glory (with friends) it'll take some time for people to stock up on it, so the Fel Lotus prices might not drop that much right away, but they're not going to increase either -- even if the relative value of gold decreases even further due to the new dailies.
I'm quite torn, shifting a full bank of herbs needs a very solid market to devour it during the patch flurry, and we don't have a lot of guilds that are going to hit SW25 (4-5 guilds maybe?), so meh. I might end up just slowly liquidating my bank anyway. Does anyone have any good input on this? How many Shatt flasks do raiders have these days? Will traditional flasks have a spot in SW25? Oh, and a last thought, what about *non*-flask stuff? Food / normal pots?

Things to note, from the spi/int conversion:
The best flask for the shorter fights(<6mins) is Distilled Wisdom now(not available with badges). The very best combo seems to be Exlixir of Draenic Wisdom and Healing Elixir or another combo with draenic wisdom(better than flasks, and better than mageblood pots). Probably doesn't make a lot of difference for melees, but you might be able to make some money out of those.

Good point, they're decent sellers even today, and they're going to get even better. I'll stock up on some mats and see how that goes. The top end people might take it over flasks simply because they *will* be better, depending on how competitive they are. =)

As a raider I can tell you pretty much anyone in the guilds that have been farming Illidan for a while will not need to buy flasks off AH. I use my marks for normal raids (I could never get myself to not fully pot even long after we were farming, guess it got carved in ) and have 80 Supreme Power, mats for ~20 pure death not to mention elixirs, food, oils (brilliant and superior) for a couple months for 30 hour raiding/week, super mana/hp pots are a bit low but building up fast as dailies supply me free ones for current needs. And this is something most people do, it's just the boredom so unless a guild jumps straight from Illidan to Sunwell they prolly won't need those flasks that much either.

Being in a guild that will most likely jump straight from Illidan to SW (at Council now), here are some of my notes:
We have enough marks to give everyone 1-2 flasks per week, so regarding "normal raiding" (4 nights a week) I think they will still be in demand. Mana potions are always needed, but afaik guilds tend to be rather inbred with those. IE. a pot master makes them for everyone out of mats, so propably a lot better off selling mats unless the herb prices compared to pot prices are low enough to allow you to undercut the Manapot prices somewhat noticeably and still make a profit.
edit: Using spell dmg food myself, I never have plenty, allways enough due to slow grinding myself, but never enough to feel "secure". I pack a stack on me, and when I run out, I'll go grind another simply because the ah prices are ridiculous for it. 25g / stack, no way. Kill a basilisk = Gain one Spdmg food.

I wouldn't overestimate the foresight of Joe Averageraider, even if he has completed the content. I personally hover at about 20 flasks plus 10 marks (plus mats for a few more) but I know quite a lot of people who will never have more than 5 flasks on their bank. I also think that quite a lot of raiders have become rather lazy in terms of farming their mats. So I think there is still a good chance to make cash on the lazy raider syndrome.
* Stocked until WotLK.
* Stocked for normal raiding, progression might require purchasing stuff.
* Don't expect people to have more than a couple of nights worth of consumables.
Boggle me silly. :-)
I think I'm just going to play it safe and slowly feed out stuff and see how it gets. If I lose some profit that'll just have to be, it's not like I need the money anyway, I'll just be spanking myself (in a non-pleasurable way) for not actually maximizing my profits. Thanks for the input.
Come to think of it all 3 options kind of coexist, I haven't asked everyone in guild, only what I've gathered from people chatting. But if this is true and depending on the number of guilds that will hit Sunwell vs number of guilds that also use consumables but are still actively doing 3-5 night/week there will be a rise in demand, in some places quite high possibly. I'm sure there are enough people that will find themselves using 15 flasks/week up from 0-3. Might even start herbing more aggresively to replace some of the Supreme Power with Pure Death and sell Supreme Power once 2.4 hits myself $$

Reason: l2syntax :)
Don't forget that it's entirely possible that Marks of the Illidari will not drop in Sunwell. If that's the case, any stock built up by the guild will quickly run out, and demand will only rise for flasks. Regardless, when 2.4 invigorates the high-end raiding scene, we're going to see a lot more economic activity where consumables are concerned. Hell, I might just start farming basilisk meat in Zangarmarsh to sell on patch day.

1200g to reach 350 JC? I spend around 200g to get the JC skill of my twink to 374 (375 soon). You can reach 355 with mass cutting green gems until the last design turns grey. The green gems are like vendor trash these days and you get large amounts if you prospect 500 adamantite ore. There is no reason to spend 1200g to reach 350 JC.
Check the AH for [Design: Braided Eternium Chain]. I got mine for 75g, which was very cheap. But you wont spend more than 200g and you will use it anyway to exchange your eternium in LPS. This design is an "must have" and will bring you to 375 in no time. Now, you make good profit with your LPS factory.
Lately I've been handing out 1 love token/hr and doing this on about 7 characters in the hopes of getting the Truesilver Shafted Arrow (Peddlefeet) and the Romantic picnic baskets. In 2 days I have made about 500G for doing absolutely nothing. I've sold 1 peddlefeet and about 7 baskets, and the demand for the items is always there because the items are somewhat rare if you aren't trying for them. Peddlefeet runs anywhere from 250G-600G and the picnic baskets go from 10G-50G depending on the time of day and who else is "farming" them as well.
This sort of made me wonder... what are some of your ways to make money during other seasons? I know of hoarding small eggs until the Christmas weeks roll around is another way of making some easy cash. Was just curious what other people have found works as well.

LPS are going for about 20-25g on my server and you can make them though DE (arcanoweave bracers) for about 17g.
With the ability to break up void crystals into 2 LPS, I suggest everyone re-price point the value of Void Crystals. I know many are selling for 15g or less on many servers and they are technically worth about 40-50g each now.
One thing to keep in mind here is that many guilds have literally a 1000+ Void Crystals at this point. Will raiding guilds be selling these come 2.4?

Even though its a one per day transmute I suspect the value of LPS will drop a fair bit rather than the prices for Voids skyrocketing. The supply of voids at the moment is extremely large. The markets are going to get flooded if even a fraction of the ones out there are suddenly put up for sale at high prices.
Void/LPS markets were discussed in detail a few pages back. The bottom line is that the price of VCs is going to rise, but not as high as twice the cost of an LPS. I'd expect the price of LPS to barely change, and the price of a VC to settle at about 1.5x the price of an LPS.
Remember that each enchanter can only do VC->2LPS once a day. Guilds are sitting on thousands, and a night of raiding can potentially produce more void crystals than all of the enchanters in your guild can turn to LPSes that day.
I'm a frost mage. I usually farm air elementals in shadowmoon valley. I mount up on an epic mount, fly to one spawn, kill, then mount and keep repeating in a circular pattern on the southern end. With an epic flying mount, you can kill them almost as fast as they spawn.
The only downtime I ever had was when I ran out of mana. I found that equiping these trinkets and putting on mage armor let me kill almost twice as many mobs between drinks. They are both VERY easily attainable by any level 70:
Power Infused Mushroom This thing is ridiculous. I kill one mob about every 15 seconds which ends up being about 800mana/min or 66mp5.
and
Mark of Defiance The more you cast the better this gets but I usually get about 4 procs per minute while framing SMV which translates into about 600mana/min or 50mpg. The +dmg is just icing on the cake.
Usually there is nobody besides me farming the air motes on my server at that location. If I don't have any competition, I can normally get about 8-9 primal airs per hour. I've been farming this location almost since BC came out and I haven't found anywhere that gives me as high a return except maybe AH sniping. The only catch is that it almost requires you to have an epic flying mount to farm it efficiently, otherwise you're better off doing nagrand elementals or kirin'tor village.
Also remember, recent PTR activity has shown that you need Honored with Shattered Sun, meaning you won't have a thousand players instantly doing this on patch day. Some amount of effort will be involved, and while it'll eventually become a common enchant - I'm not sure how easy it is to get to Honored (I expect it'll take at least 2-3 days for most people.)
As people noted in the spi/int thread, the Elixir of Mastery should also become much more popular with casters (gives 45 Spir & 45 Int in combo with Elixir of Draenic Wisdom).
Yeah, the Mastery / Draenic Wisdom combination struck me too. The side effect of this is obvious though -- four Terocone every time you pot up. This does seem fairly harsh, so I'm going to try to stock up on them. It's not like you can ever have too many Terocones anyway (and thank $DEITY for Cartographer Routes).
Ouch. Primal nethers no longer being soulbound in 2.4 will trash my biggest money maker, since everyone that wants one will now just supply all the mats to me or J. Random Engineer for the Gyro-balanced Khorium Destroyer. Previously, I had no trouble selling one a week for ~1k gold (making it the best way to use the primal air I farmed.) I don't think I like this change...

Did I miss an announcement that Nethers were going to become BOE ??

Go check the 2.4 thread. It's not in the patch notes yet, so move while you can. Vortexes are also unsoulbound(15 badges each), so snap up any BOE recipes that use vortexes if you want to make a quick profit in 2.4, or sell any inventory that eats nethers/vortexes while you can.
