These are the mats I've been stocking up on in preparation for 2.4:
primal fire/earth: much fewer farmers since they'll be busy doing new quests
shadow pearls: no epic version, so they'll remain in demand with spirit change
elixirs of demonslaying/ghost mushrooms/gromsblood: Brutallus = demon, requires 28k raid DPS

Not sure you could. I haven't tried but doing that sort of thing is reliant on dodge and a very fast dps takedown. The second boss has a regular stun and being stunned totaly negates dodge.

I was bored so I tried this on my Druid. He was not hard at all, but I have pretty good gear (few pieces of T6 stuff, but mostly T5-ish), and I did a decent amount of healing to myself with LotP. I would be surprised if a Rogue could do it, and certainly not unless you have very good gear.

That's pretty tempting, come to think of it.
Other thoughts on boss-specific items? (Maiden-style holy protection pots way back in the day)

At that I also had mining so it was even better.
Solo farming MT along with enchanting helped me get my Epic Flyer.

haha I'm surprised to see that pic on EJ, it was a dodgy mspaint job that I only sent it to few friends >.>
Farming MT on average should net you a minimum of 200g per hour. There is however a potential for much higher earnings due to the fact that you are guaranteed a minimum of 10 items, I have made 500g from one instance lockout (5runs) due to receiving 5 blues and 4 blue gems.

I wasn't able to solo him as a full T6+Warglaive rogue. Brought him down to about 30% before I died. Maybe it could have been done with heavy consumables, but even then I'd have needed some luck. That sort of negates the profitablity of the kill if it's not guarenteed.

I started collecting these too but they are so scarce in terms of actual droprate from the clams that with all the spirit changes coming in for 2.4, I feel blizz may up the droprate on these as an 'undocumented change.'

I had some extra primals so I converted them to resist potions, was probably a bad idea but most people dont have the recipes so I may turn a profit on them from the raiding guilds...

Its a little late for stockpiling, but if you see any void crystals for around 20g you should strongly consider snapping them up. 2.4 will introduce the ability to split a void into 2 large prismatics, and betting that the average LPS in 2.4 will be sold for more than 10g is a fairly safe bet. Another factor suggesting they'll increase in value is that the transmute and new gear that needs enchanting will reduce the number of voids available and they'll be much harder to get from anywhere other than the guild bank or kara.

Killing Dreadfang Lurker for Netherweb Spider Silk is one of my favorites.
One stack of 10 silks sells for 55 - 65 gold on my server.
The killing path is rather simple too:
Shattrath -> Tuurem -> Cenarion Thicket -> Shattrath ...
3 stacks or 30 silks per hour are possible.

30 silks an hour? One every 2 minutes? Man, you can farm spiders for 20 minutes and not see a silk. I'd say that's pretty far from the norm. I make mooncloth bags as my transmute/cloth cooldown usage and I spend at least half an hour every 4 days farming silks, and that only takes 4.

Now that it has been confirmed that 2.4 is dropping today, it will be interesting to see what will happen to prices. Last night people were selling stuff like a fire sale. I swear, I have never seen that much legitimate trade going on in /2. I hope I made the right decision on the mats I bought, good luck to everyone else.

Related to this, but regarding S4 release. Is there an epic equivalent to [Steady Talasite]?

I got over 300 Primal earth sitting in my bank, and hoping they'll go up because of the new tank cloak enchant.
Time will tell.

Even if they don't, Motes of Earth are used for Ironshield Potions, which is a nice pet to have if you are on a very active server.
I wouldn't expect the price to rise too much though, except everyone is busy questing rather than farming.

Yes, [Steady Seaspray Emerald]. Cut is obtainable from Scale rep so shouldn't even need to wait for someone to get a recipe drop.

Regarding the primal earth's, there may be a slight glut of people who start mining again, because one of the dailies requires dust that you get from mining / skinning / herbing, similar to netherwing and felwood. I would imagine, at least in the beginning, anyone who can do this quest will, because they want to unlock all the goodies, and it is the second highest paying daily.

Brillant Glass, converting 18 green gems to 1 random blue quality gem, does indeed have a 24-hour cooldown. Now, I wish I had bought more blue-quality gems

That one came back to bite me in the ass i guess. Guess the gem market will remain somewhat steady then, except the decline from badge epic gems.

I assume this uses the transmute timer. Pretty uninspiring. This will also increase demand for green quality gems, so raw mats will be 13-17g probably. Blue quality gems will be less valuable with epics available from badge vendors. You take the chance of either breaking even or making a profit of, oh 30g or so in the best case scenario. Again, it's impossible to accurately predict what the different gem quality markets will do. I think I'll stick to metas.

This is a JC recipe, so they don't really have any transmutes yet to speak of. On the upshot, even with the cooldown, this means prospecting could become more profitable from the greens you get.

The overall demand for blue quality gems is still going down due to the ability to purchase epic gems, and the blue supply is still increasing from transmutes. Even though there's more demand for green gems, that demand is only to produce more blue gems. Green gems will go up in value while blues go down, but the net profit from prospecting will still decrease.
However, it does change the relative value of fel iron prospecting versus adamantite, since fel iron has a higher ratio of green gems to blue gems. So the optimal value of adamantite ore will drop by a greater percent than fel iron will drop.

|
That 10% of your total health ability either doesnt apply when you do it solo or can't target highest in agro because I've killed him as a druid solo and never taken it. While he's doable as a druid, some of the packs are significantly harder to farm as a druid due to lack of interrupts for healing (double priest pulls are nearly impossible).

You can make Blue gems *today*. We'll be 2 weeks out probably before the Badge vendor with the Epic Gems and patterns is available so, in the short term, you'll likely not see a huge change in price, yea?

But, to go along with that, you *can't* buy the new badge gear today, and the couple people that will be getting loot from SWP will probably have a few epic, or even rare gems sitting in their personal or guild bank so they don't have to buy at inflated prices.
