Not Helpful.

If I were a gambling man I'd say that Blizzard is happy with the current functionality of AotViper and doesn't think drinking mid-fight is required any longer. Equipment change is probably just for equivalence across all classes.

Expertise and humans
I don't know if it is intended, but humans recive dubble bonus from their racial, when equipping mace and sword, or at least, it looks that way in the mele stats window.
I know it was already on PTR, but does anyone know, if it really affects all their attacks, or is it just a bug which brings nothing to the game experience ?

I've lost count of the number of people we've ressed with a hunter equipping cables. The Capernian tanking on Kael'Thas also comes to mind. And of course, the all-time favorite; naked hunters when a pull starts to look ugly.

Has anyone confirmed if this is happening in PvP as well? I'm at work, or I'd check... MS and AS stacking would completely shake up arena (at least until the inevitable hotfix).

It does not work. I just tested in the FFA arena.

Mystical Skyfire Diamond doesn't seem to work with channeled spells. WoR states that it should work with Evocation, which it doesn't and neither does it with Arcane Missiles.
Did anyone else notice this or did the Focus buff just run out as I started channeling AM or Evocation?

It works fine with Mind Flay.

The issue with that, is that every time the client sends the instant cast action request (i.e., spamming the Shield Slam button while within the GCD that my devastate initiated), it begins what seems to be a client side GCD that lasts a split second until the client gets confirmation from the server that the new cast could not be begun. This is what seems to be causing the delay in what would otherwise be instant attacks.
|
One of the builds in the PTR did not have this behavior - one could simply press their abilities as often and as fast as they like, and the first one that got to the server by the time you were ready for your next action would get executed.
It seems that they "had" to implement this GCD-just-for-TRYING-to-do-something because of the implications of allowing people to mash on their keyboards willy-nilly. People who were testing the new stopcasting behavior observed that the faster you mashed keys, the better results you got in terms of narrowing the gap between chained casts, so much so that to obtain the best results, you could use a G15 keyboard and program it to hit your Fireball key every fraction of a second.
This is obviously bad in terms of potential server load. Multiply the number of people playing at one time by the number of packets they're all sending by trying to play the WoW equivalent of Nintendo's Track and Field and you could be looking at a significant amount of additional latency. It seems like they decided to always generate a GCD to effectively place a cap on how fast and how often you can try the server for an ability.

Undocumented vendor changes for 2.3?
I am having difficulty selling certain types of trash loot to vendors. They all still take armor and weapons but things like carapices and chipped ravager legs and primordial essences and other various elemental type loot will not sell. I tried selling a knothide leather scrap to a vendor and it would not take it either. These type items add up to serious gold over time and I was wondering where you need to go to sell this type of loot.
Thanks!

Unintended consequence of fear AI change: Olm the Summoner will stay on one tank, stacking his dot very very high, creating huge shadow dps on his tank.

The new FP at the Rebel Camp in STV is pretty nice, but it flags you when you fly over the arena, and you're still flagged when you land.

Is there a castbar mod that shows GCD? I was having a few issues keeping 4 lifeblooms going tonight, so something to help to avoid the button mash would be very welcome >.<

Known vendor issue -
I got a reply from a GM on the vendor situation and he said it was a known issue. Right now you cannot drag a stack of items to sell to a vendor. There are 2 work-arounds:
1. separate into individual items
2. have the vendor window open, and right click the stack
It seems the issue is with dragging a stack of items to the vendor window

Quartz has a "spark bar" for the GCD.
Personally, I'd like a full-blown cast bar for the GCD as well (as if I was casting Flash of Light or something). The bar in Quartz is just a black line with a red dot moving from left to right, with no latency indicator.

Now, I don't know if there was a Rogue/Druid or not in your path, but it's possible. Were you in the area of STV where there are stealthed panthers? Because that could be a bug where a mob pauses as it sees/detects a seemingly friendly stealthed unit.
|
No, I'm 100% sure there were no stealthed mobs there. However, I was playing with my sound off and today, with my sound on, and in arathi highlands, I noticed that the frostbite proc sound would go off as the mob would stop. Maybe it's just my imagination though.

Has anyone else found any new BoE epics in 2.3? A throwing weapon dropped for someone on my server and it's on the AH now for 5k. It's not in WoWHead so I'm curious if there are any other items like it. This item is actually really amazing considering it's only ilvl 100.

Its a shame they're more set on "Get our crazy original scheme to work by making it needlessly complex" just so they won't be upstaged by us uneducated proletariats and our ridiculous One Deep Spell Queue idea =\

I pvp'd quite a lot last night, and didn't notice any bugs with arcane shot. I was watching my opponents debuffs quite religiously in my debuffing euphoria, and it never dispelled a non-magic buff for me at least.
I wouldn't have been able to see if i removed any type of tracking of course.

The goblin version of the pirate costume from the Halloween event now has a pirate hat like the gnome and undead versions, thereby solidifying its place as the best illusion ever.

Olm is not immune to taunt. Another tank or his Fel Hunters can be used to trade aggro.

This issue happens with Frostbite a lot. Like Impact, Frostbite often desyncs and happens out of step with when the spell that procced it lands. Sometimes, it happens quite a bit after the spell lands and sometimes, quite a bit before. When the latter happens, the mob gets rooted and then, when the spell lands immediately after and crits, Frostbite breaks and the mob appears to do a quick two-step. You get a similar effect when chain casting and Frostbite lags - Frostbolt lands, the mob takes several steps toward you, gets rooted by Frostbite and then gets Shattered as your next spell lands, which breaks Frostbite.
