I'm really digging the Shadow Ward buff. It receives about 32% of your +Shadow damage as extra absorb, with a reduced base absorb of 875. With 1220 +Shadow I absorbed 1270 Shadow damage. Not bad, compared to the pre-patch absorb of 900, which didn't scale.
I presume the same type of scaling is in effect for the other Wards from other classes.

The Nexus Transformation Cooldown change must most certainly be a bug or they just messed with Void Sphere transformation. There's now a 2 day CD on Void Sphere.

This seems to happen when you login with tracking active (and maybe zone? Not sure). I switched from Track Herb to Track Beast and then back to Herb and they started sparkling again.

In a similar vein, I heard mention on the PTR forum of a road leading directly to Tabitha's house in dustwallow. I'm quite a fan, since I'm sure she is literally the only reason I once used map-marking mods. I have no confirmed myself but am lead to believe the source is credible, since it was confirmed by several posters and consistent with this new change as well.

There is a very clear path to Tabetha and a less defined leading to Beezil's Wreck as well. These two locations were also the reason I found a macro to tell me my location to go off of wowhead like databases that have a location number. They also both appear to be quest hubs (albeit small) which I don't believe either were before. They also have small icons on the map which is another nice change.

Yes this was done as part of the Dustwallow revamp, and young mages rejoiced.

Tanked heroic Arcatraz last night for the daily, and really did notice the changed GCD behaviour.
It's not game breaking but it will take some getting used to, and the GCD spark bar of Quartz will be a permanent part of my UI from now on.

Another couple undocumented changes, apologies if already posted:
- Karazhan now has music. Finally. It is quite good, at well.
- Netherspite is now a dragonkin, as opposed to a demon.

Could this be a result of an addon that isn't updated? Last night in Karazhan (22 badges! $.$) I got a popup warning me about "possible decreased performance" due to interface errors. I was still chugging along at 60 FPS, though.

I had a ton of FPS issues in outdoor environments like Mount Hyjal, Supremus trash room, or just out and about in Azeroth. Couldnt figure it out, but decided to look for new drivers for my Nvidia card. Just released some about 1 week ago, so I hadnt updated yet, however as soon as I did, I returned to normal FPS in all areas.

I had the same thing happen. I was able to observe that by turning my camera slowly, my framerate went from 60 FPS to 12 FPS in the space of about 3-4 degrees. I started by looking at Jaina, and when the edge of my camera neared the opening where the mobs come through, it plummeted. In combat, it was even worse - I was getting 5-8 FPS for most waves. It made Hyjal distinctly unpleasant last night.

Has anybody noticed a reduction in tab targeting range? Before the patch, I could tab through targets at pretty much any distance, as long as they were loaded. Now I can't tab from farther than ~40 yards.
I heard that they put a cap on the tab targeting range, but I can't find confirmation of it anywhere online.

Looks like lots of people are catching the framerate bugs/issues introduced in 2.1 that some of us are still dealing with. Hopefully the squeaky wheels get the oil soon. It's been months of shitty framerates for me

It is possible to set the tab targeting range to any distance you like.
WoW-Europe.com Forums -> Tab target range?
|
Open your WoW folder, now open the "WTF" folder, open the config file, and search for "SET TargetNearestDistance," (if it doesn't exist add it in on a new line) and change it to any number you want.
|
I assume the distance is in in-game yards, but that is only an assumption.
Edit: Seems this is no longer the case.

There was a blue post about it being changed from something like 300 to 50. The main reason was people could change their lua files and tab target people in the arena.

On the Leotheras fight, My pet killed my Inner Demon twice. I didn't get mind controlled. Is this a new thing since the patch?
I always had the understanding that if a pet got the killing blow, you got MC'd anyway.
Has anyone else viewed this behaviour?

Yes, I noticed it almost immediately upon logging onto the PTR the first time, and it went live. The shoulders are now sitting farther apart and lower on the character models. With certain shoulders it looks fine, but with the Avatar shoulders, for example, it looks horrendous and bulky. You can actually see my priest's shoulders underneath the guards if you look at her. Unfortunately, I don't have any screenshots, but if you're willing to browse the first page or so of the WoW PTR forums, there are at least 3 threads on it. In addition, the weapons are now oversized; my S2 mace is huge compared to what it used to be. Someone posted a screenshot of the S2 staff on a female NE's back and it is noticeably larger.
As for the FPS issues you are reporting in Hyjal, I noticed a similar drop in performance myself. Right after 2.3 I decided to switch to Bongos2...after reading a few posts in the Tech Support forum and comments on Bongos itself (on Curse), I read that its new debuff/buff highlight feature was causing the extreme FPS lag. Sure enough, I turned it off, and was able to raid as usual last night. A few of my guildmates reported a similar problem, but as all of us who mentioned it were using Bongos2, we concluded fairly quickly that it was the new feature. :P However, the creator posted a new release (1.9.3) a few hours later--he says he's optimized the debuff/buff shading and it shouldn't cause problems any longer. Of course, if you're NOT using Bongos, feel free to disregard this.
