I read about the Bongos - Addon causing fps drops because of the Cooldown animation in the buttons of action bars. (since 2.3). Anyone using it?
/edit
I´am sorry if anyone posted this before. Though i´am new here i do not know the hole forum in every sentence. I Only thought the info could be useful for the persons complaining with fps drops.

The potential problem and a fix was given already:
|
As for the FPS issues you are reporting in Hyjal, I noticed a similar drop in performance myself. Right after 2.3 I decided to switch to Bongos2...after reading a few posts in the Tech Support forum and comments on Bongos itself (on Curse), I read that its new debuff/buff highlight feature was causing the extreme FPS lag. Sure enough, I turned it off, and was able to raid as usual last night. A few of my guildmates reported a similar problem, but as all of us who mentioned it were using Bongos2, we concluded fairly quickly that it was the new feature. :P However, the creator posted a new release (1.9.3) a few hours later--he says he's optimized the debuff/buff shading and it shouldn't cause problems any longer. Of course, if you're NOT using Bongos, feel free to disregard this.

Has anybody yet seen the plans for the new weapon chain? Neither wowhead nor thottbot list a drop which makes me a bit sceptical about its implementation.

This is mentioned at the top of the first post in this thread in the "Frequently Asked Questions" section for a reason, you know.

'War' is too small a word for what I'm fighting. Like a candle in front of the whole burning Sun. Now, I am not going to die today. I have other projects, and other options.

40% actually. Being a prot warrior makes it fairly simple to knock him down to just 37% or so before roping him.

@Mem
I saw it on a famous german server. Here is the link.
Adamantitwaffenkette - buffed.de - Das Portal für Online-Spiele
They quote it a world random drop with a very low percentage. It was dropped by:
Wrathwalker 67-68 Schattenmondtal 0.0
Black Blood of Draenor 70 Schattenmondtal 0.0
I´am using the german client. To my mind "Schattenmondtal" translates to Dark Moon Valley (not quite sure).

Using [Preserved Holly] on a flying mount works now. Flying Reindeer looks awesomely awesome.

Shadow Moon Valley is the translation.
The drop rates given by buffed.de are most likely skewed due to the item being introduced just a few days ago but the NPCs dropping it being in the game for much longer. Anyway, as the patch notes state, it's a world drop.
On a different note: Has anybody else experienced extremely large "target circles" (the ones on the ground of your target) being extremely large for male tauren and male undeads? I don't have a screenshot right now but I will edit one in, when I get home.
Edit: Doh, beaten by Cadfael.

Its a relatively small change but when one dismounts a flying mount above the ground while still going forward, the character will continue forward for a brief second and display the swimming animation until the game decides to drop you to the ground.

This has been happening on my orc shaman since last patch. I don't recall it on my mage, however.

Yes. It used to just happen with gnomes for me but now it's for all races.

I had the schematic for the new repair bot drop last night in BEM off one of the analyzers (as in the patch notes) but to my disappointment it is BoP.

Druids in flight form can once again gather herbs. However you must be on the ground to do it where melee mobs can actually path to you, otherwise you'll get a "you are flying" error message. It's convenient without being exploitable like the old gathering was (back in 2.1 I think)

A few trivial things:
- Fiora Longears has moved from the Theramore Inn to the Auberdine pier.
- Warden Iolol in Telaar has had his name changed to Moi'bff Jill, but the signboard next to him still calls him Iolol.
- Pets--Warlock or Hunter--don't seem to want to charge an unaggro'd stationary target if it's not possible to get behind it where it stands. Aggroing the mob, even if it doesn't move, will cause the pet to charge.

The Life-step belt has been removed from the heroic badge vendor. It's apparently on one of the bosses in ZA. I'm not sure if it's a standard drop or a timed event only drop, confirmation from someone would be lovely. (I know this is in the ZA thread, however it is a change. There is one report from it dropping from the timed bear chest. The druid forums have spoken with GM's about it but I don't have any further information. Just passing it along.)

You can fix this by reloading, either reloadui or alt+f4 and open a new client.

Hmm interesting.
I can confirm significant framerate problems. There seem to be two separate issues - one is the previously mentioned Bongos issue, which seems easily fixed.
However, there is a second issue that affected *everyone* in our raid regardless of which mods were installed - and is more consistent with the quoted post above.
The issue is only in Hyjal and only in the Alliance camp. The framerate problems go away when you hit the horde camp. Every single raider in our group reported zoning in with around 60-100fps, and then as soon as the first wave hit, fps dropped to around 20, after the second wave around 10, and from there on out 3fps was around average. Fixing the issue required relogging, but as soon as another wave spawned FPS was back to 3. The only way to get relatively normal FPS was to play with no (zero) UI mods installed. And even then fps was approx 10.
It definitely seemed linked to the number of corpses on the ground, but I have no explanation for why it went away when we moved on to the horde camp.

Just wanted to confirm that on my server, anyway, as of this morning (11 PST, Friday) the [Life-Step Belt] has been taken off the heroic badge vendor, and (if I remember the slots correctly) been replaced by [Starfire Waistband].

Ehh I find it takes 2-3 tries to actually get all the way onto the ground, and I may as well just shift.

Hold down the "X" key and you will get all the way to the ground. If you're already on the ground and hit it, you'll actually land, your feet touching the ground and your wings folded. (That's flight form's "sit" animation.)

That would be extremely unfortunate if the Life-step Belt was removed. It's the same iLvl as the Zaetar belt and I've never, ever seen that silly thing drop.

I have had trouble CTRL-clicking gear in 2.3. When I CTRL-click something in chat, it won't open the dressing room window. If I CTRL-click it 5 or 6 times, sometimes it will eventually open normally, but often it won't. Has anyone else experienced this? There were changes to its functionality regarding viewing recipes, so perhaps this is related.

It appears quite overbudget. 6 mp5 more than Girdle of Zaetar, same iLvl and only very little stats less. And I guess they don't want 2 drop locations, makes sense to get rid of the easiest way to get it.
I'm really wondering why we aren't getting any hotfix topics anymore. It's really obvious that there's loads of stuff being hotfixed and I greatly dislike silent hotfixes.
