Its "healing" your mana, so it should produce aggro equal to half the mana restored - giving you a chunk of global aggro in the region of a No-overheal critical great heal. Which is still rather less than a fireball

The story to go along with this is that previously, I'd tend to pop Evo just before aggro wipes on Hydross/Leo/Supremus to save my lost time. But last night, that caused Supremus to aggro me right off in a p1. I imagine someone must've healed in the 3-5s before I lost aggro/died, so I guess Evo ticks must generate more or only slightly less threat than small or medium heals?

I believe mana restore generates the same amount of threat as heals (.5/point). I know on a warlock, life tap doesn't generate threat, but dark pact (taking your pet's mana) does. Mana potions also cause threat equal to half the mana restored.
We had a mage die on leo last night as well, even though she seemed to not be attacking the boss after a transition and was very far away. This would make sense... 5k mana restored with a single target on the aggro list is 2.5k threat.

yeah, threat equal to potions scaled for the mana restore seems like a reasonable explanation to me. It also explains why little heals didn't out-aggro me.

I've had Sanguinar run at me after I did the same thing. Now I wait.

Pewsey has heard about tact and discretion, but tends to regard them much as children view vegetables.

We plan on doing Naxxramas next week. The last time we did Naxxramas, iirc about a month ago, we ran into Sapphiron, which seemed to be bugged (People dying behind ice blocks)
I just wanted to ask, whether anyone knows, if Sapphiron behaves "normal" again. I couldn't find any information in the R&D thread.

Have casters locate the safe spots for you. If they can cast at Sapphiron, it's not safe where they are standing.

We did Sapphiron today.
Iceblocks were still dodgey.
Somehow enough survived to kill him though.

We did naxx last week, iceblocks are sill dodgey even with the 'los' tactic. What worked consistently was standing as close to the cube as you could and on the left side of it. Sounds weird, but left side+chest against cube seemed to work for most of us.

Same for us, stand on the left side of the iceblock facing sapphrion and it works fine. dont think we lost too many doing that.

What is the likelyhood that blizzard will buff hyjal/bt weapon iLVL's with the introduction of season 3? (Like how t5 instance weapon ilvl were buffed with season 2)

Very, very unlikely? Sunwell will have new weapons anyhow.

It'd be nice but sadly it is unlikely. It left a lot of stupid little artifacts (like Blade of Infamy == Talon of Azshara, functionally), It's more likely they'll upgrade them shortly after Sunwell comes out. BT opening narrowly preceeded the t5 weapon buff, and season 2 was long in full swing at that point.
It is kind of silly that season 3 weapons are marginally the optimal choice for everyone, who isn't currently wearing Warglaives or a Cataclysm's Edge.
