Crazy Shadow Step Bug
Try this:
Maniq edit:
I know we don't have an official policy on this and I respect that getting this bug "out there" might make for a quicker fix, but giving exact details on how to do this to thousands of people, doesn't sit right with me.
I'm going to leave the discussion thread in, but I'm going to try and edit stuff out so that it isn't easy to replicate.
Sorry dudes.

EDIT: Replying to Guljin
Sure, I'm not posting like "zomg amazing". It's just a fun thing to play with, and people playing is what will get Blizz to fix it.
I wish the macro actually worked like as it is supposed to. Then I could actually use it to escape properly. It's a bit mind bending to use in its current form- even if it is rather too good.
And yes... it would be good to get at least one more confirmation that it's not just me!
Also, I wonder if the new bugged Intercept works like this too?

Actually, does Shadowstep work like bugged Intercept right now? Anywhere in LoS?

Shadowstep doesn't path anyways, it's more of a targeted teleport. I'm assuming by bugged intercept you mean how you can run three miles around a mountain to get up the side, in which case shadowstep wouldn't follow it at all. Now, if intercept works like shadowstep that is a feat.
Also you should check out the PTR right now. If the bug is still active, see if moving to a friendly target will add a combo point.

we have a rogue who's done something like 300 baron runs with this since patch...
you can do baron in about 6minutes
you can teleport across wsg with the flag (intervene works for this as well, right now)
a mouseover macro works for this too
the possibilities are limitless

Just a small question for moderators here if you don't mind. Shouldn't such posts about serious exploits get deleted? I mean this can potentially ruin a day of BGs for a group of players.
It's not a simple bug report either. We are getting an detailed walkthrough here that exactly explains how to exploit a bug.

The moderators can do as they please, but this isnt a huge exploit, in the grand scheme of things. This isnt an item duping exploit, nor the weird character spamming exploit that could crash the WoW client (circa Naxx I think?). Further, this is such an obvious bug that its likely to be hot fixed very fast. Have your fun tonight, chances are come tomorrow morning, its likely to be gone.
One could even argue that letting everyone know how to do the "exploit" is a sure firer way of getting it fixed quickly. Nothing like 100,000 rogues teleporting across Out Lands to grab the appropriate peoples attentions.

Sounds like some seriously shoddy coding. It's not dissimilar to the Mangle bug which was fixed a few patches back.

I would be really careful about using this. Blizzard already has code to automagically check for teleport hacks and this would show up very similarly I would guess.
While it may be no one has been banned for it, exploiting a BG etc would definately get a GMs attention, and after they check out some log files, I would be concerned about yer account!
Better to just read this thread, report the issue in game or on their official bug tracking forums and not ever try it. It just is not worth the risk, even if you only wanna try it out for some harmless fun.

The guy who did 600 baron runs says otherwise!
I obviously didn't report it here in the hope of rogues all over the game capping flags, but for the reasons DeeNogger outlines. People knowing about it = quicker fix.
The fact that I'm not the VERY first person to discover it (awww!) also demonstrates this. I think posting about it is the responsible thing to do, though, yes, I should probably do it on the Blizzard bug forums too. I'm just lazy.
I would be interested to hear if anyone has genuinely got banned for trying this. I can't work out how you can exploit it for the baron anyway- since you drop target outside of a certain quite short range, it has limited use outside of your party/raid. The only long ports I managed were on party members, since you can target them from anywhere. Unless I'm missing something major here (which it sounds like I am...!)?

Bring a priest for mind vision? Although... really... It' Stratholme, between sprint and vanish you could probably get to Baron in the time it would take to mind-vision hop or shadow-hax-step to him.
I think the most pressing thing in terms of balance is intervene flags in Warsong Gulch. Hmm. On second thought, I wonder if a rogue can use this to get to some treasure chests in some instance or something that s/he otherwise normally wouldn't be able to get too.
Eitherway, kudos on reporting. This is one way to get it fixed, we all know how slow the bug reports forums can be.
P.S. On a related side note, I love how Blizzard patch notes occasionally give away bugs/exploits before they're fixed =p

I had a vision of 40 Rogues queueing for AV, one of them stealthing to Vann/Drek, then the other 39 Shadowstep to him and just instagib the general.

Anyone yet tried to Shadowstep from Shattrath to Stormspire? Should be possible with a wolf or moth from Terokkar Forest in the focus and a party member in target standing at Stormspire. *whistles innocently*

I assume you could use this to get into TK instances before you hit 70 which means you can get Karazhan attunement done before 70 just like druids.

Better yet - can you Shadowstep from Ironforge to Shattrath? Does party targeting work across servers? How about a rogue who doesn't have TBC - what happens if they try to Shadowstep to Outlands or (say) Ghostlands? Can you Shadowstep into an instance from outside it? Will it respect raid IDs?
Note: I suggest anyone testing the above should do so on the PTR, to make clear they're testing, not exploiting.

Outside of instances, there seems to be a maximum distance you can shadowstep onto someone. It seemed that I had to be within about 200-300 yards of my target. Instances seem to work differently though, I took a venture into an uncleared Karazhan, Shadowstepping through the back door and traveling all the way up to Prince Malchezaar (Stepping on Aran -> Consortium vendor -> Prince >_>). Unfortunately, the Chess event wasn't spawned (I'm guessing because Curator or Opera wasn't dead).

I just shadowstepped from right outside of Shattrah to someone in my party in hellfire peninsula. I am wondering if the stormspire->black temple teleport can be done but I don't currently feel like risking my account.

The past has proven time and time again that publically posting severe exploits in detail is the ONLY way to have Blizzard react immediately. Unfortunately.

Not Helpful.

I can't work out how you can exploit it for the baron anyway
|
It probably involves using the Magistrate to bypass the first chunk of the zone, then hopping past the gate, then in to Rivendare's room.

I tried this on the test realm with the ogres above shattrath. The combo point is added to your focus target, not the one you port to.

That's screwed up. The only reason this should be happening in the first place is because the ability (Shadowstep) doesn't recognize your focus as its target. If you're adding a CP to the focus target, but still 'stepping' to your primary target, I can't even begin to imagine how poorly coded this must be.
