How does one "abuse" pillars in arenas? I ask this seriouslly as pillar humping is basically a staple I see in all games.

You can climb on top of them.

I imagine if trying to fix wall-climbing weren't already on Blizzard's list of priorities, Buddhist's tutorial video probably put it there. In arenas especially, a lot of the wall-climbing exploits don't really get you away from players, but you can easily get to spots where pets can't reach you, enabling you to get out of combat and drink. I wouldn't say that it's something I see often at all, though.

You can do the quest with only strafing, although I actually find that harder than just doing jump shots.

This is not an exploit. You could just as easily do this with good reflexes and a really high mouse sensitivity (so that you can perform the spin without having to make a very wide mouse movement).

In fact, this is similar to how I setup anub'rhekan. I would have my camera facing behind me, then tap right click and I'd turn instantly and be off to the races.
The instant turn to camera "feature" is really useful - good point in bringing that up.

This is not how the built in function works. After you use the camera flip, rightclick will turn your character to face towards the screen instead of away from it. Flipping the camera again returns it to normal. Give it a try, it feels bizzare.

This is 100% correct, my daughter routinely uses my account to play and when she visits her mother (2000 miles away) it's not unusual for her to call me and for me to log off and her to log on immediately afterwards. I've submitted several GM tickets for her (usually for inappropriate behavior by someone) and have always had a positive experience with the GMs after explaining the situation.
I know the reply quoted is dated, but the information requested was never confirmed.

Apparently there is a new exploit that allows mages, warlocks, and priests to cast any spell (except channeled spells) while moving, and its VERY easy to execute. It requires no macros or 3rd party programs and after about 5 minutes of practice I was able to reproduce it with a ~95% success rate. I wonder if this will be hotfixed quickly, if it will start cropping up in widespread use in arena/bg's, and if they'll issue bans/suspensions for it.

To be fair I think res takes a macro :P at least it makes things easier.

I've played with it a little on mobs to see how it works and it requires nothing even close to a macro to get it to work. To pull it off in an arena like setting it would help, but far from necessary. Not being a macro expert, I'm not sure if you could macro it very well anyway.

I have yet to find a team do this, but it basically negates LoS. A fear/poly that you cant LoS easelly can make a game.

This is a rather large issue, mainly due to the difficulty (lack thereof) to pull it off. I actually can't do it easily because of the way I use my abilities on a G15 and the keybind mappings I use that conflict a bit with certain movement keys. But for curiosity I tried this out and it does work at the moment.
It is also widely known by now, so Blizzard is certainly aware of it and probably going to hotfix it very soon. It isn't immensly useful in PVE but in arena, this could certainly be badly abused. That said, I don't think it is too difficult to server side check for that for Blizzard and act against the abusers but I'd imagine that this too would require a server restart, while the core issue probably needs another client version or at least a patch on the server that sends a SPELL_CAST_ABORT to the client if it detects it someone trying to do it.

Well Hortus replied to the thread in the bug report forums about it, so hopefully we see a hotfix or timely patch with tuesday maintenance before too much abuse. I haven't seen anyone using this in pvp yet.

Rolling restarts for Saturday morning 26th announced for US realms, no notes yet for EU realms. That may be it for the latest exploit.

EU servers restarted this morning at 5 o'clock.
I didn't have the possibility to check if this behaviour has been fixed, though.

Just tested after our restart and it's fixed. If you wand and then attempt to cast a spell immediately, the wand is not interrupted and shoots at the target, and the spell never begins.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or lag related, but recently I have found if I spam click between mining and herbalism, I can get both to appear on my mini-map. The strange thing though is that this only work with Herbs being the ending icon. If I have mining as the ending, I only see mines. If I end with Herbs, I can see herbs AND mines at the same time.

I wanted to run this by you guys to see if you think I will get in trouble for a little fun I have planned.
I have a lvl 69 rogue that I have been farming out marks with for a little while now. The other night I accidentally used a quest item inside a bg and it worked. I'm pretty sure I can use it to hit lvl 70 inside a 60-69 bg. So I was thinking of getting most of my S1 gear and going into Gulch and hitting 70 just for some fun. It would of course be a 1 time deal and I'm sure I will be reported. Do you think the GMs would think it was a funny thing to do or a bannable offense?

You can do it a lot easier by just hitting 70 while in the queue, as the level banding is only checked when you join the queue. People have been doing it since BGs were put into the game, and I've never heard of someone getting suspended for it.

Cool thanks for the tip. I think Ill still do it in the BG just for the screen shot but you gave me another idea. Ill queue up EoS and AB too that way I can hop around and keep it going a little longer.

This video is - though very badly made - quite interesting. It is showing a mage using obvious hacks combined with the message how hard it is to get banned. He somehow checks how many GMs are online and then attacks people right next to one GM. So it seems there is no in time logging of (all) hacks.

Just saying here, but how certain are you that this is on a normal server? It could very well be someone messing around and trying to create a hype while simply having GM powers on an emulated server or something similar.

I simply report people I see using them. Unfortunately I have had the hunter snake trap "bug" used against some of my low levels (PVE server) by players of the opposite faction. It seems to be getting out of control as I see a lot more dead bodies on docks now and its probably the same reason why my character left bones there too.
Unfortunately as the people doing it are the other faction you can't keep them in your friends list to see if they are on
