A priest has a Discipline tree if you ever cared to look at talent trees . That's why you can cast PW: Shield or Mana Burn in Shadow form.
To be honest, both the patch notes and those 2.4 items look believable. There are spelling mistakes like 'Kil'Jaedon' but Blizzard is known to let some slip sometimes. The "Empowered Frost" talent giving 5% more spell damage contribution to Ice Lance is completely laughable though....
Also, no changes to existing dungeons?
Also, as someone pointed out the healing trinket in the screenshot shows a 7.88 second channelled effect - clearly affected by the Spell haste shoulders the character appears to be wearing. (clearly it was intended to be 8 seconds). So really...it makes you ask questions
Still, might just be a very good forger.

Surely it would mean that Fear Ward could be cast in Shadowform, like for instance Power Word: Shield.

God I hope those notes aren't true. If so it is a return of the damn coefficient disaster all over again. They already nerfed us. They don't need to nerf us again.

Well...
"Dragon's Breath: The disorient effect will no longer break on damage over time effects."
It already doesn't as far as I know, otherwise a DB crit would break on its own ignite. This was an issue when DB was originally introduced and fixed early on.
Also:
"Frozen Core: This talent now increases the mana cost of your Fire spells by 2/4/6%, but reduces the mana cost of your Frost spells by 2/4/6%."
Umm?
"Windfury Weapon now only grants 1 extra attack and the bonus attack power granted has been reduced by approximately 19%, but the chance to proc has been increased."
"Earthshield"
Right...the chance the proc wasn't a problem especially with haste gear and dual-wielding ...
On close inspection the grammar of the English used is also far from usual Blizzard standards.
Really fake =)

To all the "Fear Ward is now Discipline posters": Thank you very much for explaining that. I had completely forgotten about Shadowform
On the topic of the supposedly leaked items, I really think Muramasa is the deal-breaker here. The Asian motif has always been towards Pandaria, so there's no reason for a Japanese-named sword to suddenly show up in the Sunwell.
Illidan drops his Warblades.
Murmur drops his Scepter.
Rage Winterchill drops several of his bracers.
The Dark Naaru drops a shard of itself as one of the leaked trinkets.
Now, unless Brutalicus turns out to be Hiro Nakamura in disguise, I really don't see why Muramasa should be in there.

If it's a fake, it's one of the best ones ever done, but... no mention of the legendary bow makes me wonder, since that's what everyone would have probably thought of first, fake or leak.
Edit: in reference to the weapon screenshots, not the patch notes. Fake patchnotes are faaaake.

Pretty sure the Japanese swordsmith was well known and referenced multiple times in other games well before that series was ever even thought of.

The idea of more 2handers and melee daggers dropping makes me cringe. Already every 2hander and dagger our guild has gotten has gone to offspec/arenaspec/I like to run around in bgs healing but with a gigantic 2hander. >_< I guess its time for me to get better at pvp to actually get weapon upgrades from what I've been using since before karazhan.

I remember some older fake patch notes, that included for example "flying machines" for engineers. This wouldn't come for two more patches, but the mounts were named flying machine after all. It could look like some unfinished concept, that got copied and pasted.
If you consider, that in politics (I speak here of Germany mostly) a lot of the new ideas and laws are leaked to the press by government members and magazines like the Spiegel had permanent informers in many cabinets it is likely that Blizzard has some weak spots also. Informations aren't very likely complete and tested and because of that not published, but it may contain alpha tier ideas. And we all know that some weird ideas made it at least to the PTR.
Edit: Often even most CMs may not have informations about that stuff.

The WoR patch notes looks too fake to be true, no doubt about that. But the Sunwell item screenshots have been confirmed from more "official" sources than visually reverse engineering the screenshot, which is why Boubouille reposted them. Of course, none of this is official, it's merely "official". :-)

Just to throw in my two cents:
The notes, as many have pointed out, are too good to be real. They cover and provide fixes/improvements to 90% or more of the hot button and high profile class issues people have been talking about for months. I don't see Blizzard making such sweeping changes.
The items, well... the focus on MMO-Champion now is on the weapon icons which I must admit, if faked, look very professionally done -- essentially the same quality you would see in-game. Of course, that isn't dispotive in itself as no doubt thousands of people that play WoW are graphic/video artists.

Far too gentle a response, give the battlemasters an aura that stacks up on players if they are too close to them and once it reaches a certain number of stacks you get the deserter debuff, that should get people to move away from the npc's that they have zero need to be by other than to join a queue.

Considering that Blizzard (more specifically Hortus) just said they won't fix the Cheat Death bug soon, I'd also call those WoR notes fake.
WoW Forums -> [BUG] Cheat death reducing dmg by 99%
Those items from mmo-champion look a little bit strange..but on the other hand this site has a certain rep that once they call something genuine it most often has been proven true.

It wouldn't be all that difficult to create a link, all it would require is for one of the Eredar Twins or Dark Naaru to employ a vampiric ability(dark naaru drawing the light of souls into itself, etc), or have a vampiric twist associated to its character and it would fit as another pop culture reference that also blends into wow. See Hanzo Sword, Linken's Sword, Tenacious Defender and so on for reference.

Or simpler, just give the battlemaster NPCs a patrol route so that *they* move away from the players!

My working theory is the items are a leak from an in-house development server. That would explain pretty much all the issues with them at a stroke. The legendary bow isn't finalized yet (makes sense, I'd expect it to need more dev attentions), and a few items still have apparent placeholder names - just what you'd expect on a dev server well before the patch goes live to the PTRs.

That's possible; we've seen changes make the PTR only to be removed and then reintroduced in later patches. The +% stam talent for warriors springs to mind. However, most fake patch notes are constructed, at least in part, by picking items off of players' wish lists, and engineers have been begging for mounts for ages. Thing is, Bliz does that too. Just because they occasionally get something half right doesn't mean they aren't fake...

Just a slight derail, does anyone have a link to confirmation that the legendary bow in Sunwell? Of all the stuff I can remember reading about it, the only specifics I remember was Blizzard saying that they were working on a bow as the next legendary, without specifically saying where it dropped. From that, whilst Sunwell would be the most likely place, it's feasible that it would actually be planned for WotLK.
However, everyone here and on various other sites always speaks about the legendary bow as being a 100% sure bet for Sunwell, so I assume that somewhere along the line I missed a blue post or something that confirmed the bow as being a Sunwell loot - I'd appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

It's not like Muramasa or Masamune have references in probably dozens of games and pieces of literature, right? it couldn't be the name of a famous swordsmith either, right?
Yes, an anime that came out this decade is clearly the point of reference.

I disagree with this. I think patch 2.4 is going to be Blizzard doing two things:
- attempting a big class re-balance for PvP prior to WotLK so I expect pretty big changes
- Use 2.4 as an extended test for PvP changes so they get another shot at a big correction at the expansion

As far as I can remember, Blizzard has tried to keep major content patches relatively free of sweeping balance changes, to achieve better focus for the testing and post-patch fixes.
Numerous small items in those notes also seem very inconsistent with Blizzard statements/actions and typical patch notes. It's fake.

They specifically said 2.4 will include pvp balance changes. Whether or not those notes are fake, I would still expect to see plenty of "sweeping" balance changes in regard to pvp. Probably a lot of stuff very similar to the listed notes.

I'd go as far to say it might even be Kaplan. There are often disconnects between when he estimates things will be released and when they actually are released. He sees things being delayed further than what would be considered ideal so he throws a bone to the raiding community that has expressed extreme displeasure about the lack of info on Sunwell and 2.4 in recent weeks (only exacerbated by the duplicative information given in his Blizzcast interview).

Sweeping was a poor choice of word on my part. It's less the scope of the changes and more the fact that they are 'too perfect.' It almost fully covers point-for-point the lionshare of complains people have had over the last several months. It looks more like a wish list than genuine notes. Also, anyone (with a decent command of grammar) can fake patch notes. Faking screenshots like the items take a modest amount of artistic skill.

The problem with the previous implementation of DW devastate was that the offhand weapon also got the full sunder bonus -- it wasn't even modified by the standard 50% offhand damage penalty. There are plenty of possibilities for this to be re-done in a saner manner.
Personally, I think these are probably accurate. The paladin changes certainly look sensible to me.
