Oh god another Alliance goon needs help

Hey this is Vargtimmen from the freshly formed GSA splinter guild. I know you guys had helped us out with our loot system in GSA, including what needed to be done to eqdkp to get it to function how we want it to. At the moment I have eqdkp installed on our server, but if I'm not mistaken there is some wowdkp plugin or something I need to install, correct? If I recall correctly, you guys didn't just use the vanilla eqdkp package.

Your help is much appreciated in this matter thanks in advance :)

Our awesome forums/web/server admin set it up for us, so I'm not sure of the precise details. I'm pretty sure if you poke around on the eqdkp sourceforge site you'll find links to wow-modded versions, though.

You have two options

You can get 2.1.1 and get the wow hacks for it. Which you can find in their forums.

Or you can get the version 3 beta, which supports Wow natively.

I've never used the 3.0 version so dunno if it better supports wow than the hacked version, which I personally am happy with.

I think you guys should try it out and tell us how it works :) Also, remember to warn people that to zero out the system you're going to have to apply a global negative adjustment so they're prepared. The relative positions will stay the same, but you're probably going to end up with a 20-40 point negative adjustment, and I suspect people will need some time to get their heads around why it's necessary.

Yeah. I don't even know what to say about all that. It's pretty stupid, but at least someone is getting some entertainment.

Also, I'm running MySQL 3.x and am much too lazy to upgrade to 4.x, which the new beta of EqDKP requires.

One of the versions had a huge security hole which someone used to remove a bunch of data form our system.

from eqdkp.com it was 1.2.0 and the fix was in 1.2.1 which i'm assuming you're using now. I know Boethius applied a skin and made it look quite glorious and I know he did throw on some other patches. What exactly they are i'm not sure, but I do recall he went through everything in that one thread on the wowgoons alliance forums when you guys were originally figuring out how to do it. If you still haev access to their i'd suggest searching for it.

Yeah, I think we managed to get it set up with some of the patches from their forums. It'd be nice if someone there just made one post with all the WoW related crap. They stickied the thread but it has 90000 posts in it, with contributions from several people.

I haven't yet applied the security update so I guess I'll get on that. We made some enemies with the guild split so who knows :blink:

Hey, I wasn't here all day. Here's the stuff you need right here:

EQDKP 1.2.1

You extract the main zip and all the subsequent steps are zipped into their own archives. There is no readme so here's a short run-through if I can remember what I did.

1. Install EQDKP 1.2.0
2. Upgrade to EQDKP 1.2.1
3. Overwrite installed files with the ones from the "dkp" directory.
4. Overwrite /admin/parse_log.php with the one in this directory.
5. Overwrite installed files with the ones from directory 5.

This is basically just a patched version of the standard hack they had posted before 1.2.1 was released. There might be an easier/better way to do it now, but our system is working fine and I don't plan on messing with it unless I have to.

Just ask if you have questions.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I think you also need to do a search/replace for an error in their drop down menus that filters by warriors, but pulls up warlocks instead.

EDIT2: Here it is: edit line 193 in listmembers.php to read:

    'Warrior'    => array('Warrior')

No doubt there. PvP is not my strong point. Was MS specced, then switched to Prot for a while. Now I am back to MS just so I can stand at least some chance when going to instances. :)
