I didnt see a post here so I figured i'd forward the info. Apparently <Ferox> on the EU server Rajaxx has a skilled flash developer with a large free_time:skilled_guildmates ratio.

You know there's probably an entire thread devoted to Teron somewhere around here where this has already been linked.

I found it pretty cool and I never would have checked the Teron post. Not everything needs to be condensed into giant double-digit page posts.

The only problem I have with it (as a "will never see gorefiend in game. Ever" person) is that it doesn't explain what to do. I had to read bosskillers to figure out the basic process, then it was pretty easy. You only need 2 or 3 of the buttons that you get.

I have made my guildies to play that game even before we downed Kael. When We went to Teron, those that already has played (and beated) the game had spot preference. he was down at the 4th try ever

It's definitely harder than the "real" Gorefiend, but it teaches you the pacing and urgency. We made our raiders play it and it helped a lot.

So I noticed I had better results in the flash game (which is clearly harder than real Gorefiend) when I did an Spirit Vollete before the first Spirit Chains. The extra damage really helped.
Do people ever actually do this on the real thing? I'm wondering if I should suggest it to one of our better players to try out next week (he'll be able to recover if it doesn't work out). I'm MT so I don't get to do fun things like ghosts

Yes, some of our players do this and they say it makes the process go a lot faster. It's only two or three people, though, since most of us are too scared to mess up and wipe the raid.

I've always done it like that. First cast the volley and immediately follow it with a shackle while moving in the direction of the raid, turn around to face the ghosts, start tabbing between them while casting spirit lance, use the volley and shackle again when they're up, and all the constructs should die in the next round of lances.
Generally even if you have the first ghost that'll leave you some spare time to, say, throw a shield on a caster likely to be effected by pushback from the shadow bolts flying around, and possibly give Teron a slap or two.
Another handy little tip which you don't usually see mentioned is that your ghost starts off facing the direction you did when you "die", so it's helpful to turn towards the raid before your debuff expires so you can just immediately start moving forward.

Well I did look for a thread, and if there is one it is not in this forum with either 'teron' or 'gorefiend' in the title. It also isn't on my guild's list of 'important EJ' threads.
If I remember correctly, most of the Teron Gorefiend discussion was in the general 'BT/Hyjal Progression' thread.

The mechanics of the Spirit Lance operate slightly differently to what the simulator suggests. Instead of the first lance slowing the mob slightly, and the next lance slowing it more, etcetera, its actually the other way around.
The lance actually slows movement speed by 90% (3 stacks of 30%). Then, it wears off at the rate of about a stack every few seconds. So its actually more in your interest to only lance each mob once, before cycling through.

Pretty useful for giving the people new to the fight a basic understanding of how it works and what to do (and more importantly not do). Thanks to the guys who made this.

Doing a search for Teron, Gorefiend, Simulator, Vengeful Spirit, Shadowy Construct, and ferox did not return anything close to this, nor is there "an entire thread devoted to Teron" that was brought up in the search. This is at the very least better than nothing for guilds new to BT that are trying to ease the learning process.
I don't see the point of making self-important posts that only serve to dissuade the sharing of information.

You should always open 5, 4, 3 on Teron (hotkeys)
Volley, chains, then lance.
The volley can break chains, so thats why you open with volley then chains.
Also you're always much safer going mob 1, 2, 3, 4, then cycling.
I also don't recommend that you use hotkeys 4 or 5 again once you start lancing. The lances are sufficient to get the ghosts WAY before Teron. You can lose the snare trying to get fancy... the flash guide shows this pretty well.

The thing I found hardest about the flash was that the bindings are so different to in wow (well what I use anyway). After a couple practise goes you can easily get the ghosts down before halfway to Terron

Definitely. Not being able to right + left click to move forward then click ghosts with a very small mouse movement really messed me up the first few attempts. Had to resort to moving via keys and tab targeting with my left hand while hitting 3/4/5.
I would make sure to remind people who use the simulator before getting to teron - Tab doesn't always work nicely like in the simulator. clicking the ghosts in the game is generally easier (in the opinion of several guildmates and myself at least).
Overall a very nice tool however. Certainly will ease my nerves next time we bring new people to Teron.

Same here, I use 1, 2 and 3 for my buttons normally so I "wiped the raid" a couple of times before I got used to the flash game. Pretty fun though, and very well done, I'm impressed!

Very well done and very helpful, I ended up finding out about this after we killed him the other day, but it's still been good training in addition to the live fight.

Well, it's nifty game that our guild has stumbled across just a few days before reading this thread; and although I knew exactly what the strategy was from the Bosskillers video, getting a bit of practice without actually wiping the real raid is always a good thing.
As a bonus, adding Gorefiend's voice to the flash makes it lots more fun... I think my cat still has nightmares about me cranking up the volume whenever I feel like playing that...

When first using the simulator, I was messed up due to the spirit lance casting much slower in the simulator than in the game.
Edit: I was scrolled down too far and definitely missed the hp bars.

I've never been a ghost having always MT'ed Teron.
I may or may not have wiped the raid on my first attempt according to this little game. Still doesn't mean I can't yell at people who do. Good stuff.

To make this thread a little more useful, does anybody know what happens with your pet bar after becoming a ghost if you use a bar addon? Specifically, Bongos2? I read in patch 2.3 (I think it was this one) patch notes that when you possess a pet it becomes your main bar. I don't want to relive Faerlina/Razuvious after 2.0 "What? Pet bar? Don't see a pet bar!" when we manage to get to Teron.

When using Bongos you will get a separate pet bar, ie your main bar will not be replaced. A good tip would be to make sure you have the Bongos pet bar properly sized and positioned before doing Teron. Pet bar buttons are hotkeyed to Ctrl-1 through 0, known as special actions in the key bindings config section (if I'm not mistaken)
