Smart man.

Hell, knowing how that talent works on the receiving end, if I played a paladin, I wouldnt even drop 1 talent point into it if I was actually investing in whatever tree its in.
It's in the retribution tree (aka. the "fighter" tree) which has lost almost all its apeal as the lower level's 1v1 pvp gives way to the higher level group pvp. I don't heal much better as a holy paladin, and holy shock isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread, but neither is having 5% crit and blessing of kings when i hardly ever melee anymore. Kinda wishing i had saved the dkp on OEB. Oh well.

So, Alliance guys... why is it that so few people play AV? I understand we have more level 60s than you, but only one active AV instance with 40 people in it on a Saturday afternoon is insane.

Even worse, when I finally got into a fresh instance, it was a nice unorganized mix of small groups and guilds on both sides. It should have been an even battle.

But no, it lasted exactly two hours. At the 90-minute mark, we captured Stonehearth Graveyard. STONEHEARTH. You know, the one at the NE corner of the Field of Strife. We didn't have Lok up, we didn't have any inherent advantage. But the second we tagged it, Alliance started to exit the instance en masse. They didn't even attempt to contest it for the five minutes. 15 Alliance remained after that point, and they valiantly tried to hold us off (kudos to at least those guys for not leaving and making the instance poof)... but come on. How is that fun for anyone involved? And why don't more Alliance go to AV? :(

Gurg, this situation is exactly like it is in WC3. The second that someone feels they are losing, or the second something doesnt go their way at the very beginning, they get this attitude that its all doom and gloom from there on out. So they leave, and enter a new game and try again!

Theyre called leavers, and they suck

If, one day, we ever are able to make our own AV instances and have people enter them, it'll be just like the WC3 custom games. "AV vs EJ PRO NO LEAVERS -bs -er -ns"

You just need to convince the Alliance guilds that can field a group of 40 to open up instances. (Myths Fury, Strife, Exordium, PG, Sons of Troy)

We opened a new one last Thursday but most left after about 6-7 hours. :(

This has gone back and forth, but the basic idea is that Horde never get a full 40 from their guild in, so why not just go in and mess around and have some fun, do some quests? I will agree that CTF is a lot more fast-paced and I could see how a lot of people could enjoy it more, but Alterac has so much to do, you could do an entire instance and not even kill an Alliance player because of taming quests, supply runs, etc.

We put up with the pubbies, and still have a good time with the people from our guild who are there.

We usually just send everyone in, then group with our own guild. This worked well; as we moved as a team with 13 and accomplished a lot this way. You don't need 40.

Seriously, we never go in as a full 40, why do the alliance believe they need to do the same? That's a really dumb attitude.

I hate to sound like a discenter, but our lowest common denominator is far lower than your lowest common denominator. I know that sounds like a cop out attitude, but for some reason i see more and more evidence to back it up daily. When we were killing your ice troll berserker (a 62 elite) we had a pubbie paladin (level 52) run in and consecrate the mob. A.) he's using a max of rank 2 consecrate (2 of 4) and that's an even bigger joke than the real deal. B.) he's expecting to actually hit something 10 levels above him. I'm not saying that i'm better than other alliance either, for a solid month and a half after retail i was pretty convinced that paladins were the best tanking class in the game and i still to this day have valor shoulders and warmaster's leggings in my bank. I have tried to think progressivly, but it seems that the alliance on our server as a whole is slow to do so.

I hate to say it, but we need a full 40 on teamspeak with CT Raid and a raid leader to compete in there. It's sad but true.

When you guys have that, it's more than competing, you run over the Horde. We'd rather fight on even terms.

And we have Horde just as dumb, trust me.

I was in a 6 hour long AV instance today, and by god the alliance are as a whole phenominally stupid.

This was a super super super common occurance:

So common, it was often less than 15 seconds between occurances.

A paladin would bubble up, run towards the group of 25-30 horde, Consecrate(at this point im laughing as I see 35...35....35....35.. ticking on my screen) and have his bubble drop before he has left the horde group. The second his bubble drops, he gets every goddamned CC ability on him at once and he dies. He has managed to do a completely insignificant amount of damage to the horde, and given them CP for his trouble.

Every single paladin that did this(which was almost all of them) did it every single time they could. The only time I ever noticed a paladin casting a heal spell, it was landing on himself.

You need to educate them Ang, because honestly, that shit was just sad.

What is equally frustrating is that even when its a horde pickup group vs a group of alliance from a guild, the guild people all drop at once about an hour in. Both games I have played so far had this exact same crap happen, which means that you throw a bunch of people who arent in a guild into an instance that is already losing. At this point it is usually just a matter of time till its over

I saw a paladin who was healing tonight in Alterac but I didn't catch their name.

Its pretty sad when its a confusing event when the alliance warrior who is hitting me actually has her health go up at some point.

Quoted for truth. Just as someone was finishing a rant about alliance priests in shadow form we see a horde one just run across the bridge and die.

I watched a paladin shield, run into a contested bunker, go up the stairs, consecrate, then jump out the window and run away. It was the greatest thing ever.

GRAVEYARDS!?!?! Who the fuck needs graveyards? I need my extra 4 CP by going shadowform, dropping SW:P on one person before dying and then having to run back from our base.

Actually, that was one of the highlights of my night last night. A dwarf paladin barrels into the north bunker, shields, runs up the stairs, runs along the edge, sees about 7 Horde sitting by the flag, then bails it out the nearest window. I was laughing for five minutes.

Yes, god yes. It's retarded. "Hey Korrak is up let's go kill him guys!" Meanwhile we're in the middle of defending the Stonehearth GY that we just captured. A group breaks off to kill him and we then lose all ground that we just spent an hour fighting for. Ugh.

And jeez Elfan why did you change your avatar I thought you were Raylen. :S
