But still, pretty useless since most of the time the tokens are holding you back, not the honor.
I've often farmed honour with a pre-made on a BG weekend, and amassed a pile of tokens that I have no particular use for. This quest should help address that.
And then Mail DPS get's left out of the fold it seems, as we've seen no Hunter/Enhancement Shaman DPS items on these vendors anywhere.
Thinking about that, then, I reckon the intent is:
More popular spec / Less popular spec
I think that might be a wee bit contentious (cloth healing / cloth damage is the big problem with that theory, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it turns out that the 'cloth damage' item is actually designed to be ideal for a shadow priest; similarly, would the "Plate DPS" item fit particularly nicely for an arms warrior or retri paladin?)
The logic therefore would be that the item that drops off the boss himself would be what you need more urgently - meaning, critically, that the less popular specs are covered in the loot table while heavily reducing the risk of drops occurring which no-one can make use of because the few people in the raid who *are* that spec already have them?
Did you notice if the mobs are hitting harder then they did on normal?
Either they tuned the dungeon pretty steep or normal mobs hit like they were on heroic with no health.
Also, throw up the screenshot when kael's dead.
That fight is pretty fun with 5 players!
The entire instance wasn't too much harder (mind you we were all full T6) except the 3rd boss, which we wiped on twice.
It's almost like they mislabeled the mob types or something. Theres 5 humanoids, 1 beast, and 1 demon. A demon that looks like Illhoof is labeled as a humanoid for some reason? Makes it hard for CC.
edit: look at that folder for other screens of heroic/nonheroic stuff
I'm assuming because of this locked door's position(outside the final Sunwell room's spire), it's either the path to the final boss, or it's the door that the server-wide event unlocks:
Yes, that is the First Gate mentioned earlier. If I am not greatly mistaken, there are 3 of those gates. Gotta wonder who the "Most powerful being in this world" is, that hold the item to break the gate open. Any thoughts? I don't think they'll send us back to AQ40 or Naxx, my thoughts are with an outdoor boss that will spawn when the War Effort hits 100%.
it also occurs to me that the effort already being at 2% (from a screenshot a little bit ago) means that either it's WAY easier on the test realm, or the effort will have to go through multiple times to spawn said boss once for each gate (or different bosses for each one)

Reason: Forgot half of my thought
To teach and to learn, to laugh and make others laugh. This is my purpose, and any day in which I don't wasn't worth the time it took to get through.
I don't believe Ive seen anyone discuss the intellect/spirit changes, so, here are some comparable screenshots between live/ptr. Ignore my meh healing gear.
Suffice is to say that, imo, for priests and druids, spirit now owns mp5. A lot.
Worth noting the tooltip for intellect is unchanged. It does say how much it increases the effects of spirit by, or any such thing.

A tangent but what is that icon on the top right of your character profile? the robe.
EU Char copy seems to be messed up still.
On of your members (horde haman) got an alliance rogue with full t6, double warglaives etc.
New way of premades? :p
So, so far we know or can reasonably assume the following:
New T6 tokens for belt/boots/bracers drop in Sunwell. The T6 sets remain with 2pc/4pc bonuses. The new T6 items are ilvl 154.
New item drops from Sunwell appear to be ilvl 159-164 despite having the armor values of ilvl 141 items.
Many of these new loot pieces can be exchanged with a [Sunmote] for another piece of the same kind but differing function -- i.e. exchange healing cloth chest for dps caster chest. This is a new mode of "tokenizing" loot.
Almost all of the new loot has 2-3 sockets each. All the new Tier 6 pieces have 1 socket each in belt/bracers/boots.
New engineering helms can be upgraded with 4 Primal Nethers, 4 other Primals, and some extra mats. The new hats are Tier 6 quality.
There are new Jewelcrafting, Blacksmithing, Tailoring, and Leatherworking patterns. The BoP items are all made from Sunmote-less mats. The BoE versions are all made from Sunmotes + other materials. We assume that all these patterns drop in Sunwell and are analogous to the T5/T6 crafting recipes in this way.
All of the new crafting patterns appear to kick major ass. Gratz on keeping your profession instead of taking enchanting.
The new Badge of Justice vendor with the alleged Tier-6-quality weapons does not yet appear to exist. Drysc is a tease.
There are a few dailies on Sunwell Isle that grant reputation with the Shattered Sun Offensive.
Killing Kael'thas in the Magister's Terrace on Normal Mode lets you finish the quest to unlock Heroic mode and gets
you a free Crimson Spinel.
Magister's Terrace bosses drop epic items on Normal Mode!
In the Sunwell 25-man, a corrupted Kalecgos appears to be the first boss. Brutallus, the cyborg-like Pit Lord, appears to be the second.
The Agamath Gate prevents further passage into the instance, but a quest demands that one retrieve [Essence of the Immortals] to help dismantle the gate. The Essence is an epic drop, location unknown. From "the most powerful beings of this world" according to the quest text.
The For Great Honor quest returns! Nations rejoice! You can turn in one of each BG token for 314 honor.
There are two new spellhaste cloaks from the normal Badge of Justice vendor in Shattrath.
Muru, the Naaru from whom the Blood Elves of Silvermoon were previously draining their paladinly powers, is now in the Sunwell and absent from Silvermoon.
Lady Liadrin, the general of the Blood Knights, comes to Shattrath to speak to A'dal about their plight. He forgives her and notes that Muru and the fate of the Blood Elves was foretold by Velen, the Draenei prophet and was known to him and Muru before he was captured. She pledges the allegiance of the Blood Knights to the Shattered Sun Offensive.
The new blue PvP sets are similar to the old GM/HWL level 70 blue sets and can be bought for a very low gold cost from Outland reputation vendors at Honored and Revered levels (KoT, Thrallmar/HH, Cenarion, Lower City, Sha'tar.)
The expansion of the forward Shattered Sun base seems to revolve around regaining control of the various arcane sentinels wandering the island.
Oh yeah the legendary bow. It's a major PvE boost to Steady Shot damage, doesn't take arrows, frees up a bag slot,
and is otherwise the same DPS as an ilvl 151 bow + Timeless Arrows.
Did I miss anything?
'War' is too small a word for what I'm fighting. Like a candle in front of the whole burning Sun. Now, I am not going to die today. I have other projects, and other options.
It depends on how you look at attunement. Attunement is a symbol that "I am ready for this instance." It's a very common question for people or guilds who are new to raiding: "Are we ready for Karazhan?"
A simple answer is "You are ready if everyone is attuned."
However, for further raid instances, it's much easier to state readiness in terms of the previous instance:
You are ready for BWL when you've beaten MC.
You are ready for AQ40 when you've beaten BWL.
You are ready for SSC/TK when you've beaten Gruul/Mag.
You are ready for Hyjal/BT when you've beaten SSC/TK.
You are ready for Sunwell when you've beaten Hyjal/BT.
TBC-style attunements make this explicit, but they really aren't necessary. However, for the first raid instance, an attunement is necessary because it's a lot more uncertain as to when you are ready, *especially* for a guild or player who is new to raiding.
Well, the situation is that you can complete skip Karazhan and go to T5 or T6 with badge, crafted or pvp loot. So my alt mage is "not ready" for Karazhan, yet he's "ready" for Black Temple.
I'm sure this was debated endlessly when T5 attunement was removed as well
That mark turn-in is fantastic. Hopefully it will go live, as it solves the problem of people drowning in unwanted marks and also motivates people to play all battlegrounds.
It also increases your honor carry-over by 31.4K if you are willing to sacrifice all of your marks. 15.7K if you wanted to retain 50 of each.
Here's an example of Lacerate's dmg on the PTR. I didn't bother customizing the new combat log, so its kinda ugly, but you can see the numbers. That dot is with 5 stacks BUT without the mangle debuff. I just couldn't get the mangle debuff on one as well as getting lacerate to five stacks without killing the mob (lacerate turning on autoattack ftl). As it is I had to lacerate then turn before I swung at the mob. So, anyways:

I would suspect the first bosses in Sunwell, Archimonde and Illidan. Probably even Kael'thas and Vashj with the change that lets you kill them without clearing the other bosses first.
Edit: Unrelated--I'm curious how much they changed Magtheridon. I hope he is accessible for a casual T4 guild now.
