Unless we're currently missing something huge, some aspects of the fights we have tanks being hit for 9k.
Anyone using SR of any form? Seems like you can cheese it down a lot especially while learning. We lost 5 banks today in the PTR, but it's been a blast so far. Good to see other guilds doing well.

The challenge so far seems to be coming up with a decent enough rotation for the portals, and most of the groups I've run with have each tried a different method. I'm not sure if the rotations were what was wiping us, or if it was just other factors. The random porting of players when a portal spawns also plays into this.

One of my guildmates had mentioned during our last attempt of getting some buff that he received a buff when he was low on health that regenerated something like 200 or 300health/mana per second. Since the server crashed he was unable to check the combat log but after a few hours he finally tracked down what he believed was casted on him on the Shadow side.
It is either Revitalize - Spells - WOWDB or Breath: Revitalize - Spells - WOWDB In either case they are more or less the same thing and close to what he had noticed. Can anyone else confirm this buff?

It's the first one, I believe you only get it during the Shadow Realm part of the encounter.

The rotation that I used in a PuG which worked extremely well was to have 3 groups (one 8, two 7). Each group with 3 healers and try and have the DPS in those groups paired with a shaman. Each group would stand fairly close to each other (close enough to get to portal quickly, far enough away to not get hit by the portal summon damage) and when the portal comes you take it. Only small difference was had 1 healer stay back from first portal group and take the third one to help heal, damage gets really crazy between 2nd and 3rd portals but it's fine after that. Obviously in addition to that you have tanks just taking the portal however you want (just have 2nd MT take the first portal that comes up).
We didn't get in a ton of attempts with this, probably only really 2 that went well. Wiped from the demon killing human form Kalecgos, i'm guessing you have to tank Sathrovarr the Corruptor somewhat, or have extremely good DPS as we only got him to 40% before he killed off Kalecgos. For the curse it didn't really seem like a big deal, just decurse when it does a moderate amount of damage and your fine.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I haven't noticed a meeting stone anywhere on the Isle of Quel'Danas.

The meeting stones might be something that is built over time when the war effort, or whatnot, proceeds further.

It seems that the Vial of the Sunwell (2000 healing energy one) drops in Heroic Magister's Terrace - at least according to WoR forums.

It seems that a simple two group rotation would be best, since it would help class comps minimize tanks and maximize the debuffs/buffs for damage during the demon area; while keeping the arcane debuff at a controllable level. However it would make sense if there is an 8 or 9 person limit to each portal, but unless I'm overlooking an aspect of the fight you would want to maximize the amount of people rotating each minute by up to half. I guess the 4.5k shadowbolt is the only factor that comes to mind that would discourage large rotation groups, but even half the raid taking that damage seems fairly healable, especially when compared to the last group in a 3 rotation strategy.

After putting in two runs today, both with Nano I believe, I can say from our experiences that trying to assign set groups of dps, tanks and healers to go down is pretty much a waste of time.
What I would recommend to any groups attempting this is that they focus on splitting their tanks and healers into three groups. Have them wait in the middle for the first portal to pop then the first group gets to the portal asap and start tanking the shade. This rotation continues repeatedly.
Meanwhile the dps will attempt to go down whenever possible. As far as DPSing Kalecgos is dragon form... I don't know. We didn't notice any difference in attempts when we did and didn't.
That was just our experience from the first day, I'm sure other groups had much more success.

A two group rotation means that at certain points of the fight you have virtually no one up top and or no one on the bottom. Unless you plan to skip portals.

I really like this fight so far from the 15 or so tries I've done my only question though is what happens when everyone up has the no portal debuff and his cooldown to cast the portal is up? Either he just doesn't cast it untill it falls off (which is good) or he skips that portal and waits for the next one to come up. If it's the later then I can see how you could run into some problems. If not then it really becomes a question of do you do a two, three or four group rotation. From my best estimates he does about 25% of his human forms life every 30 seconds, meaning if you did 2 groups with a minute and a half up each you get three (maybe 4) phases to kill his demon form. Since he has 2.88 million health that means in a raid of 2 tanks, 8 healers and 15 dps you need to do 2.3k dps each for 3 phases and 1.7k dps for 4 (my guess is his human form would be dead before you got the 4th phase). If you are doing either the 3 or 4 group rotations then you should always have a tank down there and always have time to switch tanks up top.

Broken things:
- Drinking (often the mana portion doesn't go)
- Group buffing (sometimes only single-buffs your target)
- Trading (just does nothing)
Also the instance has been reset a couple times, disconnecting us in the process, and respawning all trash.
So, par for the course for the first night on the PTR.

Anybody know if there is a limit as to how many people can take the portal into the Inner veil? Some people claim they couldn't get inside the portal. Also somebody in my last raid said that When the portal first opens it transports a person inside with it (as in he casts the portal on-top of somebody & they get ported with them), can anybody confirm/deny this?

In all of our attempts the first person the portal spawned on always got ported it seemed. After that it seemed to continuously teleport whoever was closest until it filled a certain quotient.

My take on the new non-PvP dailies so far:
The one at Shatt that sends you to Nagrand has been discussed. IIRC, you get 12 gold + a SSO care package which contains a green. Someone else in the thread reported a badge, but a green's still good.
Another one a Shatt sends you up to Netherstorm to kill belfs for a drop. I haven't bothered to do it yet.
One at Shatt involves collecting 8 'nether residue'. They can be gathered from herbs, mining nodes, and skinning mobs. It has a low drop rate, but that's OK. You're not supposed to 'grind' this daily. Just go about completing your other dailies while you pick flowers and you'll probably get it done. 16 gold+2 'major rejuvenation potions'. Worth doing, but don't be an idiot and try to grind it.
One at Sunwell involves killing three robots, using an item on their corpses, then escorting them somewhere. The problem? You don't get credit until you actually escort them to where they need to go. If you die or, say, get GANKED, you start all over again. I think the mobs will be a bit annoying for casters; I noticed a Silence effect. The worst part is that you only get -9 gold- for this quest. Skip this daily, it's not worth your time.
One at sunwell involves 4 mana residue from trash nearby. Niftily, it seems you can gather residue even when you're not on the quest. They're unique-stacked to 4, so you can turn it in, gather up 4 more, and save yourself some time the next day. Worth doing if you're in the area anyway.
A bread crumb quest at Sunwell chucks you through a portal to hellfire, I'm not sure if the portal can still be used after that. Doom Lord Kazzak is gone? Or at least, he's not where he used to be. Now there's a bunch of non-elites in the area.
Quest 1 is to take a little fireball friend and go kill some fire elementals in the area. Much like the robot one, if you die, you get to start all over again. Pass.
Quest 2 is to kill four demons for an item with a 100% drop rate, then use an item on a nearby mob and kill four of those. Easy and it gives 5 sunfury signets or marks of sergaras, your choice. It'd be easy to do on your way south from netherstorm after doing cooking daily/belf butcherin'.
---
LFG tool does not include MT yet. So anyway, I attempted to tank non-heroic MT. After the healer disco'd and we wiped, I was informed I was "not geared for this". To think, people wonder why it's hard to find tanks.
Edit: The COT teleporter in the inn is either A. Broken or B. Requires Exalted, which would just be a cruel, cruel joke.

Both the 5 man and the first boss in the 25 man seem to favor Warrior tanks. In the 5 man, there's so many caster mobs in every pull that Spell Reflect is amazingly useful, you can ranged tank many mobs effortlessly and seriously reduce the damage taken. On Kalecgos there's a ton of magic damage going around, so warriors are nice for that. Also since Kalecgos is an NPC, I'm not sure the Paladin taunt (Righteous Defense) will work on it - sort of like Hyjal Trash? Anyone have experience trying? If the paladin taunt doesn't work, that's a good way of not being able to use a paladin tank on the fight.

I can't recall if it bounced to somebody but CLoS does remove the curse as well as removing the arcane buffet that the dragon does. I'd assume this to be the same with Bubble/Ice Block, although when we were doing it were not aware that it actually bounced to a nearby target.

Agreed -- he requires a good amount of coordination, some strategizing, some on-your-feet thinking, and good enough gear to burn him down before your mistakes start catching up with you. The sign of a good boss: very few wipes did it feel like we got screwed. We could point to a mistake or something to optimize on just about every one.
Also, and this is only from a couple hours of pulls with a mixed-guild raid, but I really don't see many guilds that haven't downed Illidan waltzing in and killing Kalecgos.
