The T2 engineering helms increase in item level and stats but keep the same armor value.

Any item that is involved in the transmute vendor is technically considered a sort of tier 7 set (matching graphics) hence the item levels on those things being higher than the other "regular" drops (just as t6 is higher ilvl than the regular boss drops in bt/hyjal), but yes, the shield should almost certainly also be item level 154 to match the ilvl of the other regular drops. Doesn't that make the shield the only item that is out of place using that theory or is there something else too?
edit: as for the armor value, the ilvl 159 tank helm (Crown of Dath'Remar) has the exact armor as the illidan helm (ilvl 151). Are they now doing what they do with caster weapons where they take away weapon damage (or in this case armor value) in order to free up budget in order to provide more stats?

I just noticed when you die in Mount Hyjal that you resurrect alive and not as a ghost. Saves some time corpse running because you can mount obviously .

This could get ugly on PvP servers.

Probably side effect from the fix to not keeping the lordaeron disguise stuff from old hillbrad. It involves dieing so that's my guess, might be wrong. But yea it'll be annoying to run back faster, then wait inside for tyrande to respawn. If they just wanted to make it faster, they could just put the graveyard closer, but I doubt that was their reason.

I'd rather they keep the armor on tank gear, honestly.
Tankatronic Goggles - Items - World of Warcraft
Hard Khorium Goggles - Items - World of Warcraft
The new helm should have 1532 armor -- a difference of 236 armor ~= 240 armor, which just happens to the be the amount on the new glove enchant (released one or two patches ago). I only make this comparison to say "this is significant." I think it's just a bug, honestly.
You're right actually, it should be higher than 1532 even -- this seems to be the illidan/archimonde (151) armor value for plate hats.

US-PvE is currently 8% through the 2nd set of daily quests, the ones from Sun's Reach Sanctum.

Not currently, but I wouldn't be surprised if they add them when they make them usable in SP.

Thing about Illidari marks is that Blizzard would have to write another of its storyline loops to get them into the Plateau. Illidan's troops are the ones carrying them, and Kael'thas is no longer serving Illidan.
That said, this is one time I'm more than willing to look the other way over some thin storyline if it means they'll drop. Not having to compete over Fel Lotus for every member of the raid makes things much easier.

As far as dailies unlocking Sunwell bosses, it may just be a matter of the town comes first, Sunwell comes second. That is to say that once to town has been fully built up, then daily quests start contributing to opening Sunwell gates.
Also, has it been said how/when this is all calculated? It's possible that gate progress isn't calculated until Tuesday maintainence/server resets.

Illidari marks already drop in Hyjal with no explanation given. At least some of the stuff you're likely to be killing in Sunwell used to serve Illidan at some point.

I do believe that all storyline concerns about Marks of the Illidari being handed out to Illidan's servants, and Illidan's servants only, were jettisoned for the sake of gameplay once they started dropping in Hyjal - which was a bonafide, 100% Legion-brand invasion. Unless I'm missing something - it has been a number of years since I've played WC3 and I don't know every single little bit of lore about WoW - Illidan had nothing to do with the original invasion, nor with the mucking of the timeline that led to us returning to it. I don't recall ever minding that very much - and if I ever did, I must've stopped caring at some point receiving my weekly Mark allotment.
That said, a justification for Marks being carried by SP25 mobs can be provided at the drop of a hat, and it doesn't even require much lore gymnastics. Kael'thas once served Illidan and his trusted servants were given Marks as proof of their devotion. They kept those Marks even after Kael'thas doublecrossed Illidan in favor of the Legion. The Eye already provides a precedent of Kael's followers holding Marks of the Illidari despite no longer serving him.

As of about half an hour ago, US-PVE was at:
46% on the gate
8% toward the armory (round 2 island cap)
12% toward the Shat portal

For the first point - It's possible. I guess we won't know until the whole island has been captured.
For the second point, the turn in NPC for Essences gives the current Sunwell Gate progress percentage, and it updates every time someone turns in another Essence.

I didn't see it mentioned, but also didn't look to hard. Has anyone on PTR killed Kael or Vashj to see if they drop the EoIs?
I know Gruul and Mag have been killed and they didn't. So I am curious to know if these two bosses do. The reason I am curious is the quest givers text states, "Found only on the most powerful beings of this world!"
So I am wondering if this referring to beings of this world (Kael, Vashj, Illidan) or beings still on Azeroth (Azuregos, Ragnaros, etc.) and that it is some terrible attempt to get us to go back to those zones for the people who never got to see them?
|
I used to think I was perfect. Then I realized that thinking ones self perfect is conceit and conceit is a character flaw. I have no character flaws.

I would laugh my ass off if Rag and C'thun dropped these but I highly doubt thats the case. Now its possible Vashj/Kael/Illidan/Archimonde drop them, but really it could just be "flavor" text thats added to the quest and the items may just drop from the Sunwell bosses.

C'Thun would be a nice idea, as I think that only a small percentage of players have encountered him and he still is harder to beat than heroic instances. Also he should be considered a very strong being. If we consider the background story he should be more powerful than Kel'Thuzad, Vashj, Kael'Thas and even Illidan. So storywise he should also be stronger than Kalecgos or Brutallus. But I doubt that this will play any role when the designers consider loot distribution.

Dropped from the bag you get as a reward from the fishing daily. No idea if it's guaranteed or not.

It's difficult to say, but it looks like each of the fishing dailies has a chance of a rare item. For Crocolisks in the City - Quests - World of Warcraft it's a chance at the pet baby crocolisk. For the other four fishing dailies, it's a chance at [Eye of the Sea]. If you search for [Bag of Fishing Treasures] on wowhead, you'll find that there are two seperate itemids. One for the crocolisk fishing daily, and one for the other four fishing dailies.
