I know Gruul and Mag have been killed and they didn't. So I am curious to know if these two bosses do. The reason I am curious is the quest givers text states, "Found only on the most powerful beings of this world!"
So I am wondering if this referring to beings of this world (Kael, Vashj, Illidan) or beings still on Azeroth (Azuregos, Ragnaros, etc.) and that it is some terrible attempt to get us to go back to those zones for the people who never got to see them?

I really think you're reading too much into the flavour text.

Beside, Ragnaros, according to lore, can hardly be one of the strongest beings on Azeroth anymore, since he is quite dead (or at least sent back to some hellish place). Not that it would keep Blizz from using him in a quest, the point is more that you cant use a quest text to assume anything really.

Kel'thuzad. He is a Lich afterall!
Though, it would make some sense lore-wise if Kael'thas dropped them in Tempest Keep =p

Where's the problem lore wise for Kael'Thas and Vashj to drop the essence?
Lore progression wise they must be dead in order for an army to go for Kil'Jaeden.
It's similar to killing Nefarian for that item you needed for AQ.

Not to violate the rule on spoiling/strats, but a bug we noticed on Kalecgos is that if someone is standing in the bushes along the perimeter of the platform, portals cast on them will fail to do anything. We were wondering why we had a few portals not show up for close to a minute. Someone realized that he had turned to cast it on someone and it just never showed up. We were able to somewhat confirm this when it happened again. As missing a portal really screws things up (depending on strat and your raid dps it may guarantee a wipe), and it's a bug rather than a legit part of the encounter, I figured it'd be helpful to share this info.
Note: I have submitted a bug report for this.

It isn't guaranteed as I did the quest today and got the standard vendor junk and gold. Another fishing note: There are new fishing 'nodes/pools' in Zangarmarsh called "Brackish Mixed School." I only got one catch out of it before it despawned and got a [Golden Darter] which normally can only be caught in Terokkar. Perhaps it is similar to the Highland Mixed Schools found in the flying regions of Terokkar.

Forlorn Legacy already posted videos of their fights against Kalegcos and Brutallus and announced the Felmyst one to be out soon. On wowwiki.com there is already a small strategy section on Kalecgos.

I'd like to ask that, despite the flurry of excitement over the PTR and actually having new content, people refrain from divulging and theorycrafting/speculating over strats for the raid encounters in Sunwell Plateau. I realize this is just a small gesture, and that this information will continue to circulate on World of Raids, MMO-Champion, the official forums, IRC channels, Bosskillers, and so forth. I can't do anything about those, but I do have some control over this little corner of the internet, and I'd like to do my part to help preserve the longevity of this morsel of content for which we've been waiting the better part of a year. We can all go back to bitching about the lack of content soon enough, but for the time being I think it's ultimately harmful to the high-end raiding community to turn every boss into a collective endeavor. This is our content. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Once there a ton of kills of a given boss, we can go back and reflect on the details, compare strats, and so forth. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. It's for the best, really.
(Please report posts made from this point on that you feel violate the letter or the spirit of this rule, they'll be deleted and infractions will be handed out accordingly.)

I don't remember who claimed the opposite, but Doom Lord Kazzak is still there, on the Throne of Kil'jaeden.
Took him a bit to spawn, but he's there now on EU PvE.
That's going to be interesting since the throne is a base for two dailies. Lots of accidental pulls, and unless they change his shadowbolt volley lots of deaths and healing.

Considering the Fishing Daily Quest, it seems questing in Orgrimmar, Barrens and Durotar is disabled, i had an empty Quest Log when porting to Orgrimmar and couldn't complete the Fishing Daily Quest for catching the crocolisk. Didn't try going to Stormwind to do the Quest yet, any Alliance player can offer deeper insight on that matter?

I fished a bunch of them and got mostly darters (woot healers!, ~60% out of 30 fish) and some other nice fish that didn't stick in my mind (spelldam and stam ones). They seemed to be darter heavy though, which is nice.
Fish will be easy though once the fishing daily does Live.

With a rare reward (I am 375 fishing on two characters, produced countless stacks of crawfish and still never have once seen pinchy) we are more interested. That slightly less interesting quest just turned into the one you want!

It was horrible initially on the US PvE PTR. DLK was trained all over and dying resets your little flame pet's progression.
On Live though this just won't be an issue. Even as the loltop guild on the server, we'll be back killing Kazzak as soon as he spawns for BoE saleables. It simply must be better time to money than even epic gems.

Do you gather enough at non-peak times or what? We have had trouble in the past keeping people away from him even before anything was up there.

I don't see how you're gonna be able to kill Kazzak when it's a daily quest hub and you'll almost always certainly have somebody of the other faction up there to grief you, it doesn't take much effort to wipe a guild on that encounter..

I don't think this has been mentioned before, but I came across this link when browsing the WoW EU forums:
Quest:A Magnanimous Benefactor - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft
Anyone on the PTR able to confirm this quest?
To those that cannot access the WoWWiki site (if you're at work or whatever ), apparently there's a quest where you can get a "of the Shattered Sun" title if you shell out 1000g.

The quest exists in WoWHead as well: A Magnanimous Benefactor - Quests - World of Warcraft
Given the quest text, it's very likely that you have to be revered or exalted in order to buy the title. As I am not, I cannot confirm it actually exists.

We really have that few guilds that can even kill such a soft target.
Seven guilds ever have killed him on our server and we were the majority of those obviously. It sure seems easier than the old green dragons to control and although we won't obsess over it, I'm sure it will be a high-priority target of opportunity. I would like that new sunwell title hey?
