With the latest version (using the tankadin module at least), I'm having major issues with gems.

I went into the tools menu and set up 4-5 default gem sets (restricting it to tank-related gems that actually exist in game only, basically), checked the box that said to delete gems outside of those sets, and hit OK.

However, when I look at gear it still shows all kinds of completely unrelated gems, doesn't show some of the ones I put into default sets, and even if I edit an item and change the gem, it doesn't show up properly, and at some point crashes.

I'm running .Net v2.0.50727, if that has any baring. Also, I have a second Rawr install in a differently named directory that I had been using. Perhaps the new rawr install and the old one can't run at the same time? I really like having two different Rawr installs going, one for protection spec and one for retribution spec, because default gem sets (when they work) don't seem to be restricted to just one rawr module. In the past, when I set up default gem sets for tanking, then swapped to the retribution module, the ret module was using the tank gem sets

Hopefully I will get around to solving this by adding the ability to type in what you do during an entire fight (like inputting from recount/wws/similar). Rigth now I'm assuming you are using the Tank Healing role (which uses Greater Heal). You can try switching to Flash Heal spam and/or increase the amount of time you spend in FSR. The reason it picks 4 part t7 is that 5% off Greater Heal is a lot of mana saved when you are mostly casting Greater Heal.

Mord, set your default gems right away when Rawr starts, before opening/loading your character.

Again, we know the current gemming system sucks, and are working on a new one.

I noticed Darkmoon Card: Crusade is missing when I load my mage. If I manually add the item, it won't model the trinket effect will it?

Rawr.Mage always tells me to socket something like: Runed Cardinal Ruby... a 23 sp gem. i must admit, i have never seen something like this ingame...

WowHead has them, but i never saw one ingame?

can it be that those gems are from data from the beta or something like that?

I noticed that rawr suggests enchants that are tailoring /inscription-only , even when i unchecked these professions on the filter-tab.

You likely still have them marked as available to the optimizer. The filters are just for visibility, they won't remove the green diamonds if you put them there.

I already deselected masters inscription of XY . but still it is visible.
Maybe this screenshoot will help me to express more clearly what i think

Masters inscription of the Crag is still visible in the List, although i didnt select "inscription" on the filter-menu
Its only available , if you have inscription, and can only be cast on your own items.

It's a faction item from Sons of Hodir, Rawr is stating that this "faction" item regardless of your ability to use it is better than what your saying is available.

Enchants are not filtered (yet, anyway). And yes, Master's enchants are from Inscription, not Hodir.

The two Master's inscriptions at the top are indeed from Inscription. I believe the filter only works for gear slot items, and not for gems or enchants.

its not thaat important to filter enchants though.

maybe i missed it, but how can i tell the optimizer that my toon attached an eternal belt bucket [Eternal Belt Buckle] , which creates an extra gem socket that needs to be filled ?
somehow this slot remains empty

The Optimizer won't fill it, just put whatever your best gem is in there. It's the slot below your belt.

In the next version (available in source control for anyone who compiles latest for themselves), that will be handled automatically. That's part of the initial wave of the gemming revamp; give it a try. I'll be posting a new v2.2.0b1 beta version for everyone to try, this weekend.

This beta should include the production-ready new version of Rawr.Moonkin, for those of you who are interested. Erdluf of these forums concluded a code review of my work, and I've addressed most of the issues he raised. There are still some tweaks that could make it more accurate, but he concluded that it was, by and large, satisfactory.
