Our class' mechanics have settled, and I can confirm I am working on an Enhancer plugin.

I'll go you one better -- here's the pseudocode for my flattened, Main-hand-only Windfury model:

The Windfury cycle can be broken down into three periods or states:
- the Cooldown, where you have no chance of proccing windfury, this lasts 3s.
- Waiting for First Hit, where you're out of the cooldown but have not hit or Stormstruck yet. This is important to model, so the marginal cost of hitting, say, 1.5s hasted weapon speed from 1.51 is properly calculated.
- Proc If You Can, where you're basically striking and swinging your ass off, hoping for a WF proc. Should be as simple as dividing the number of hits needed by the number of hits per second.

Solving for DPS is simply a matter of dividing the average damage done by a single proc by the sum of the average time spent in each state.

1) Get average number of hits that can proc WF in one second (this is 1/Hasted WSPD * white hit chance + 1/8 * yellow hit chance)

2) Calculate how long you'll need to wait, on average, for the first MH hit after the cooldown is up. This is hasted WSPD - (hasted WSPD mod 3), adjusted for the chance and time saved by having SS swing before the MH.

3) Average hits needed to proc WF, with 1 weapon, is 5.

4) 3s + Avg Wait For First Hit(from 2) + (4 additional hits / Average Hits Per Second) = Total Avg Time between Windfury procs

5) Avg WF proc damage / time between procs = WF DPS (yey!)

In the coming days I will be posting an omnibus thread with equations and errata on Enh. Shaman spells in 3.0 and WotLK. Editorial assistance would be appreciated at that time.

Rawr v2.0.0 Released!

Welcome to Rawr 2.0.0. This brand new version of Rawr is designed for use with WoW 3.0,
for characters up to level 70. You'll find many new features at the core level of Rawr,
and many in some of the models. Some important things to note:
•We're not done. Many of the models haven't been updated yet for WoW 3.0
•We're going to be updating Rawr quite often for a while. To help you stay
updated with the latest changes, Rawr will now check for new available updates,
notify you if there's a newer version, and offer to open Rawr's website for you.

•Rawr.Retribution: Mostly complete.

Rawr mage 2.0 seems broken, it gives inconsistent results, for yellow sockets it sometimes chooses 10 crit and 10 haste and sometimes 5 haste 6 power with no consideration to socket bonus (damage).

For instance it socketed Grand Magisters Staff of Torrents with 2 10 crit rating and one 5 haste 6 power and another item with 10 haste gems.

On the same note it socketed Sunfire Handwraps with 10 crit and 5 haste 6 spellpower which obviously ignores 4 spellpower socket bonus.

I was using 11/50/0 spec.

A few minor things I noticed while trying out the new Rawr.Mage:

- Standard 11/50 seems wrong. It only has 4/5 Burnout. Move 1 point out of Blastwave (alternative: MoE) for more DPS
- I really like the new Talents-Tab!
- It puts [Dragonspine Trophy] pretty high on the list. Is this a bug?
- The Glyph tooltips all say "Optimize between mage and molten armor"
- Haste Potion is missing on Spells&Buffs Tab. There is a checkbox at the Buffs-Tab, but I think it uses an average value and doesn't disable the use of other Pots.
- Water Elemental Sequence Reconstruction seems to be just fine for me, even though Kavan said it doesn't work (I tried a 120 second fight and it uses Elemental at 00:00 and at 01:00 for 100% uptime)

Regarding Dragonspine Trophy: If this trinket could proc via spells, it would be just THAT good. The problem is that right now Rawr is not properly taking into consideration how Procs are being Proc'ed. This should be fixed for a future release.

is a shadow priest model in work?

@ Maje: Can you send us the character file where this happens? And when you say that it 'chooses' gems, are you talking about results from the Optimizer? Or just what shows up in the charts on the right? What shows up in the right is not 'chosen', but rather what gemmings are known to it. You can edit them, and add your own, just right click, edit.

@ DST: Yeah, as TNSE explained... It's smart enough to realize that the DST's proc is useful to casters now, but not smart enough yet to realize that casters can't actually make the DST proc. Will be fixed.

Is anyone having a problem where rawr will startup and immediatley close?

Sounds like you didn't completely unzip Rawr. Make sure you unzip the whole folder. You should have a folder containing Rawr.exe, Rawr.exe.config, and a Data folder, which contains a bunch of .dll's and xml's.

I notice that none of the leather items have had their armor updated. Any ETA on that?

Yea, I have all those files. I extracted it with Extractnow and with the windows unzipper and its still having the same issue. I also reinstalled .net 2.0

Any other suggestions?

@ Maeltne: I updated the armor of leather items with the latest armor values on Wowhead. As of the last PTR build, quite alot of leather items still had their bonus armor. When the servers and armory come back up, we'll update all the item stats.

@ Salty: Have you had problems with any previous versions of Rawr? What OS are you on, XP or Vista? Try copying everything from the Data folder to the root Rawr folder (so they're next to Rawr.exe, but is still also within the Data folder).

I'm having this problem with Mono 2.0 (built from source) on Mac OS X. Can't get it to run at all.

Looks like 2.0.0 and Mono hate each other. We're working on a fix.

Did you use Wowhead: Preventing wipes since 2006. or wotlk.wowhead.com? Only the later has the updated values...

@ Maeltne: WotLK, of course. My guess is that perhaps you loaded your character which contained gemmings that Rawr didn't know, so it downloaded the info for that item from the armory, which included the old armor values. Regardless, the armory should be updated pretty soon.

@ Saltycracker: Hmm, it's still not able to find any models (the files like Rawr.Retribution.dll). Is this unzipped in a folder you have full permissions to? If Rawr.Retribution.dll is in both places, /Rawr/Rawr.Retribution.dll AND /Rawr/Data/Rawr.Retribution.dll, I don't know where else it may be looking for them.

If the Module dlls exist in the root rawr directory and the data folder, Rawr will ignore whichever modules are in both places and not load them. I copeid all but the warlock dll to the rawr root folder and the splash screen only loaded the warlock module and then quit.

I might just be SOL on my work computer. Though I'm not sure why Rawr16 works just fine.

Odd, I didn't touch armory, I assumed it would be down after I installed Rawr2.0 so I was just building my character from scratch.

Perhaps there's some other way the old armor values are creeping back in. Regardless, I'm not too worried; they'll be fixed by the armory in a few hours.

For the bear model, i get a -3% chance to be crit but the tooltip has the 'crittable! short by 1 def/1 res' message for it.

Also, is there going to be some kind of modeling for the on-proc weapon enchants? Currently it looks like mongoose is a clear winner for bear no matter what and a slight upgrade for cats depending on haste and on ability usage, but I'd like to have that as part of the model if possible.
