If you downloaded Rawr v.2.2.5 right when it came out, you might need to remove Read-only attribute from all the files in the Data folder in order to resolve errors that occur when closing the application.

Still in v2.2.5
I looked into EnchantCache.xml and saw that the stats are correctly assigned to the IDs, just the names are swapped.

I recently downloaded RAWR 2.2.5 and I still do not see the Valorous or even the Conquerer's Nightsong set bonuses activating for the Bear model. Is this as intended?

Yes, since they don't have a modelable affect on Bears.

Q: Is Mitigation rating [eidt: or Rating in general] directly comparable between classes?
That is, if a Warrior has 118,000 Survival rating and 250,000 Mitigation rating - does that mean he is better equipped than a Bear with 1150,000 Survival rating and 225,000 Mitigation rating? (Let's say Threat is a non-issue for both.)
Depending on your answer I might have a follow-up question.
Thanks Astrylian for the greatness of Rawr!

Kind of.
For Mitigation/Survival ratings combined, no. They're commonly in the same ballpark, but if they're remotely close, you can't really make any assumptions of one tank being better than another based on them.
They do have standardized meanings (ie, 1 Survival Rating for bear does mean the same thing as 1 Survival Rating for Tankadin), though. So, if you're looking at just Survival Rating, you can safely say that the tank with a higher Survival Rating can take more burst damage. Or if you're looking just at Mitigation Rating, you can safely say that the tank with the higher Mitigation Rating will take less total damage, long term. However, those two mix differently based on the class. So if Bear A has more Surv, but less Mit, and less overall, than Tankadin A, that doesn't mean that Bear A is overall worse.
For TPS and DPS ratings, they are of course comparable.

Thank you for the answer. It was even clearer than what was needed. So greatly appreciated.
The reason to why I was seeking confirmation of that was due to me comparing my Druid with my Warrior friend. Our level of gear is quite similar - yet as tanks we seem quite far from one another. My Survival rating is 118k and his is 115k. About the same. However, the sweet stuff - mitigation - show a significant difference between the two of us. I have only 128k, while he has 269k.
My problem is that I believe to have geared quite alot like Blizzard intended. Comparing our stats I can't see where this huge amount of difference in points is comming from either. Sample:
Warrior:
Avoidance: 53.80%
Total mitigation: 86.27%
Druid:
Avoidance PostDR: 53.19%
Total mitigation: 86.74%
Since all tank classes are supposed to be equally able to be MT, there must be some example of a Druid tank with about the same mitigation as my Warrior friend. I would be very interested in loading the profile of a Druid tank on par with my Warrior friend to compare to my own Druid. Can't really see what justifies him getting twice the mitigation points I do. Perhaps you have some Druid's armory or an xml-file fitting my need? Any guidance in my quest would be appreciated.
[Edit: it's not like the difference is justified based on in-game perfomance either.]
[Edit: I suppose the numbers could get way off depending on the options tab's settings. All of that is set to default though. Changing "Target Damage (Raw)" for Druids and "Base Attack" for Warriors to the same value doesn't really make the numbers to make more sense either.]

How is block being handled? ie, do you have the bear set to be taking large hits, and the warrior set to be taking many small hits? 269k is a huge mitigation, and doesn't seem appropriate for just 86% mitigation. Oh, I believe there's a 'Mitigation Scale' setting in the Warr model, that lets you scale its value, try setting that back to 100%?

Warrior settings:
Mob level: 83
Base Attack: 25,000
Attack Speed: 2,00 s
"Mitigation scale" set to: 1,0
versus
Druid settings:
Mob level: 83
Target Damage: "Normal T8 Raids" aka 50,000
Attack Speed: 2,00 s
is the current settings.
Changing Warrior settings to...
Mob level: 83
Base Attack: 50,000
Attack Speed: 2,00 s
(*removed* "Mitigation scale" set to: 1,0) - Using "Tank Points" (difference?) instead.
...gives the Mitigation value of 149.5k instead. Compared to my 128.2k. Seems more reasonable. But since I am only guessing* when it comes to the settings I have no reassurance that these values are correct. :/
*especially when it comes to the use of "Tank Points" instead of "Mitigation scale" and what their purpose is.

TankPoints are a legacy thing; you pretty much should never ever use them. Use a mitigation scale of 1. If that still produces substantially different Mitigation Ratings, there might be just a difference in how it's calculated in ProtWarr that I'm not aware of (but will look into).

I have tried to open the new version of Rawr, 2.2.5, and my windows is telling me that it quits working. The only thing that has changed on my computer is, I have downloaded and installed Service Pack 2 for Vista x64. I have even redownloaded the new version, and it still does not work. Has anybody else had this problem after installing the new service pack for Vista?

The Healadin model is broken in v2.2.5.
Rawr sometime crashes if you load it and it won't even start if you had it active when you closed Rawr the last time.
If you already can't start it any more, delete the "Local Settings\Application Data\Rawr" folder in your user folder.

Allright. Thank you. The Mitigation Scale 1.0 does produce substantially diffrent Mitigation Ratings. I will leave it at that for the moment, feel free to reply in case you would look into this and not see substantially diffrent Mitigation Ratings yourself - and if so, what settings you use under the Options Tab.
Finally, aside from again thanking you for this great application, I would like to forward a suggestion to further help make this the theorycrafting application for everyone:
- Aware of the fact that a bunch of you are working on this, it would still be very good - and simplified - if you would homogenize the Options Tab (aka the part that is about the boss/mob variables). Perhaps with two options. One simple option where you simply choose 1 thing (T8 Normal Boss, T8 Heroic Boss etc.) and Rawr sets all the variables to some standard values. And the other option for the advanced user, allowing the user to change all the variables.
That would be something warmly welcomed by me at least. Keep up the very good work.

There have indeed been alot of issues with 2.2.5 just refusing to startup for some people. We don't know what's causing it, and it does seem to be too common to pass off as just typical system corruption. Has anyone run into that problem, and found a solution? Or anyone see some commonality of who it's affecting?
Macdee: No, there's no version of Rawr for pre-80s, beyond how well it works already. There's not likely to ever be more than that, simply because there's no need for it. The hunter model is in the process of being rebuilt at the moment, so possibly not. Also, please don't double-post.

Just as something to try, for the people who have been unable to launch v2.2.5, try checking what version of .NET Framework you have in Add/Remove programs (if this fixes it, let us know if you were on 2.0, or 3.5), uninstalling .NET Framework, and then installing the latest version of .NET Framework, v3.5SP1.
Not sure if this'll fix it, but we're suspicious that some bit of 3.5-only code found its way into v2.2.5, when it shouldn't have (Rawr should be entirely 2.0 only, we're working to ensure that's true for v2.2.6).

Doing the same thing on the same character save works fine in 2.2.4 and I created the character file in 2.2.5 so it shouldn't be something buggy from that.
I also noticed that the 4pT8 bonus is showing up as a negative value which really doesn't make any sense.

Rawr works decently for pre-80s (it can tell you somewhat of the dps gain of various talents and glyphs), but it is still based off a level 80, so some things like ratings don't mix well. For example, at level 34 10 crit rating is like 1.8% crit, but at level 80 it is 0.22 crit. Also the consumables/buffs are for 80s, so they don't tell the true pre-80 power.
